    Not his best effort
I've read most of RH's books but I couldn't get into this one.The plot line was too slow and confusing. It lost me less than half way through. I liked the narrator and would like to read another book he narrates.
    Not Reginald Hill's best book
Is there anything you would change about this book?
It wanders a bit in the middle. Could have been a bit more dynamic.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
    Liked the ending, quite surprising
What does Seán Barrett bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
Seán Barret is a really good narrator. He never disappoints me.
Was Traitor's Blood worth the listening time?
On the whole, yes, but meanders too much in the middle.
    Any additional comments?
I have read a very large part of Reginald Hill's books, but this have enjoyed many of them more than this one. However, I often read/listen a book more than once, and I might give this one another go. I think that maybe I'll enjoy it more the second time around.
    ridiculous story line!!
excellent narrator but his voice is too mature for the 40year old main character and the story line is ridiculous far fetched and all over the place.

Awesome Book - If you like AI Stuff.
Loved reading this book in vacation. Nice storyline - almost read this book from cover to cover. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is in science fiction, artificial intelligence and maybe even in trading and automation. At one point the storyline was a little to much foreseeable - that is why only 4 starts instead of 5. But still it is a great read.

    Publisher's Summary:
From the New York Times best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio talk-show host comes a high-intensity debut thriller, the story of a smeared network journalist who uncovers a chilling terrorist plot.
Jack Hatfield is a hardened former war correspondent who rose to national prominence for his insightful, provocative commentary. But after being smeared as a bigot and extremist by a radical leftist media-watchdog group, he ultimately loses his job and finds himself working in obscurity as a freelance news producer in San Francisco.
One afternoon, Hatfield is on a ride - along with the SFPD bomb squad - when a seemingly routine carjacking turns deadly, after police find several pounds of military-grade explosives in the jacked car. And when the FBI urges Hatfield to stay out of it, he knows hes onto something big.
This event will open up a shadowy trail that leads Hatfield from San Francisco to Tel Aviv, London, Paris, and back again, as he works with a stunning Yemeni intelligence agent and a veteran Green Beret to expose a terrorist group known as the Hand of Allah - and a plot within the highest corridors of power that will dwarf 9/11.
In this lightning-paced first thriller, spanning the globe from Europe and Israel to the back alleys of San Franciscos Chinatown, a reporter must make the choice between protecting his own life and investigating a terrorist cell whose goal is nothing less than total political control - no matter what the cost.

Now that the Left has checked in....
The three reviews I found here after listening to "Abuse Of Power" were so slanted it seems they are obviously politically motivated. Their leanings are showing.
I found the story gripping and not easy to put down. The narrator, Peter Larkin, I think did a fine job, very entertaining.
Michael Savage has two large followings: those who love him and those who don't.
We are reviewing his book not him. If you were expecting to listen to a vanilla novel with no political comment you purchased the wrong book.
And why is Audible only showing these three horrible reviews? This is not representative of the 38 people that reviewed the book.
    Excellent
Felt this was an excellent book with a fast moving plot and very representative of the times.
    Exciting
Where does Abuse of Power rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
One of the best audio books I have heard.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Abuse of Power?
The detial of the encounter wiht MI6 in Londaon
    Which scene was your favorite?
The golden gate bridge at the end of the book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
no, I commute so I listen during my trips back and forth to the office.
    Any additional comments?
A page turner, well written and exciting.
Abuse of Power is a great book...
...but be warned that there is some content that those who will not appreciate some of the descriptions in the book. There are descriptions of intimacy that verge on romance novel. I personally think it would have been better written without those parts, but the story had some great twists that kept me guessing. There were points were there was over description, but I tend to be very critical in that way. The average listener who wants a good mystery and thriller will enjoy this book I think.
    a must listen.
A very good story. Some graphic sex but otherwise, 4star rating because of this.

I simply love nicholai hel books! Learn so much aboiut the culture of these characters and love the diversity! This book is the perfect blend between love, action, drama, suspense, you name it. I really hope for more of them. I loved the first book shibumi and think i enjoyed this one even more!
Always as a great wirter and story teller
Fantastic writer, once I pick up his books it is so hard to put them down. The story pulls you right in and all else around you fades away. Scarry world out there, glad it's far from me.
    Love it
I loved Shibumi and I loved this book too. Too bad there isn't a third book to complete the triplet; the story of Nicolai's son after the events in Shibumi...
    Don't waste your money
I read this book until I got to page 325 and then I started skipping pages, and those were the hardest 3 hundred and 25 pages I've ever read, and the only reason I read those pages was because I enjoyed a previous book I had read by don Winslow called The Power of the Dog, but this title Satori is comparable to a sleeping dog that hardly ever wakes up and when it does there is minimal action
Love Trevanian and Winslow, togetehr they are a powerhouse
Love Trevanian and Winslow does a good job of bringing one of Trevanian's most interesting characters back to life. He takes no license, except that he tones down the sex a bit (fine with me!) Great read, hope he does another. But he has his own books to write!.

The last one in the series
I enjoyed this book very much and loved the first two. I wonder if the author will write more. The reading was terrific.
    Hmmmm
Not as good as the previous 2 books in this trilogy. I found myself less engaged and even a little bored at times.
It's not terrible by any means, but I was hoping for something better after enjoying Child 44 and The Secret Speech so much. Shame.
    Better than The Secret Speech
I disagree with a lot of the reviews, I didn't think that it started off particularly slowly. Although there wasn't a lot of action at the start, the building up if the story was very enjoyable. The story is depressing, but I found it more believable and interesting than The Secret Speech and the narrator is fantastic. I'm glad that I decided not to listen to the reviews and go for this because I think it's important to have the end of the story. Neither sequel stands up to Child 44, which was definitely the best of the trilogy, but this was very good all the same.
    Good story, great reader
What made the experience of listening to Agent 6 the most enjoyable?
The reader was brilliant, the story very interesting even though a little bit slow to start.
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Leo, very nice background
Which character as performed by Gareth Armstrong was your favourite?
    Leo
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
    The end
    Any additional comments?
Would be good to have the other book from the same serie read by the same performer.
Not as good as the first two
Having enjoyed Child 44 and The Secret Speech very much, I was disappointed by this. The story was too far-fetched and didn't seem to have a coherent plot. It was as if Tom Rob Smith had been told to write a trilogy and had run out of ideas for the third book. It is also very depressing. You need to listen to it to complete the series, but I hope future books are back to his previous standard.

Title: Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Sanction

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 16 hrs and 8 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-27-11
    Publisher: Orion Publishing Group Limited
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 12 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Espionage
    Publisher's Summary:
From an idea by Robert Ludlum.
For Jason Bourne, forever caught between two identities - mild-mannered linguist David Webb and lethal super-spy - life can never be ordinary. But when his old mentor, Professor Spector, installs him as head of the comparative linguistics department at Georgetown University, it seems he may have found a measure of normalcy at last.
That is, until a hitherto unknown terrorist organisation comes up on Central Intelligence radar, with a plan to execute a major attack on the East Coast of the United States within a week. Without sufficient hard intelligence to back them up, and with competing intelligence organisations keen to undermine new director of Central Intelligence Veronica Hart, they have no choice but to employ a rogue agent capable of hunting down a shadowy terrorist mastermind on his own: Jason Bourne.
Suddenly, Bourne is plunged into the deadliest and most tangled operation of his double life: pursuing the head of the Black Legion - a murderous terror group with its roots in the darkest days of World War II - while his own side tries to take him down. And all the while, an assassin as brilliant and damaged as himself is getting closer by the minute.

    Jason Bourne does it again
Captivating with abrilliant twist. Jason Bourne is sensational as usual
    music/sounds drive me mad
I bought this the other day - I cant listen to it. For some bizarre reason they have added bizarre, random sound effects that are incredibly irritating. Dont buy unless the distactions of bizarre clanking and weird noises dont bother you.
    jason bourne
loved it great narrator more please listened every spare minute really pleased with the purchase
    Outstanding!
The narrator was cool, calm and extremely clinical. Bourne is hot, sublime and extremely, out of this world. Superb and amazing!
    Disappointing
I have been enjoying the Bourne series as they have been full of action with a clearly defined plot line. The Bourne Sanction however, seems to have lost the plot. The centre section was so slow and embroiled with Russian names and accents, I lost track of who was who and who were the bad guys. Several times I almost gave up as I was bored (never before happened in a Bourne book) but I persisted and the "end game" when it came was somewhat rushed as if the author wanted to just finish it off.
Such a shame. I have the rest of the series to listen to so I hope this was just a blip. Lustbader is normally better than this and after listening to this I would say David Baldacci is winning in this genre.

    Loved it!
Kept me on the edge of my earphones!!! I enjoyed the actor who read it as well. Can we have some more of Nelson Demille please - Up Country, Plum Island, etc
    My first Nelson DeMille
This is my first listen to this great writer. Superb. Kept the interest up all the way.
Scott Brick Drawl is driving me nuts
Would you try another book from Nelson DeMille and/or Scott Brick?
I listened to the Lions Game and the reading was really good. This books, Scott's slowed down his pace and started a looooooog drawl. Waiting, waiting waiting for him to finish senatances.
What other book might you compare The Lion to and why?
    The Lions game
How could the performance have been better?
Speed up the read- stop the drawl
Could you see The Lion being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
    Yes
    Demille does it again
Would you consider the audio edition of The Lion to be better than the print version?
    Yes definitely.
Who was your favorite character and why?
    John
What about Scott Bricks performance did you like?
Yes - his ability to change voices so professionally.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    No.
    Any additional comments?
Ask Nelson to write more books
    So-So Demille
    Any additional comments?
I've read or listened to most if not all Nelson Demille novels and I've loved them. His main characters are always engaging and funny and great to hang out with for the length of a story. Having said that, I found The Lion to be somewhat formulaic and a little predictable. John Corey who was great fun in Plum Island and The Lion's Game was grating in this story. The villain Khalid was so over the top that it was almost comical. Demille has done better.

    Frequent Listener
Not sure I can recomend this book to anyone. I read the first book from this author in the two book series and enjoyed it. Thought I'd try the audio version for the sequel, big mistake. I'm going to get the paperback when it is available only to see if I can get through it that way.
Stay away from this audio version unless you need something to put you to sleep. I really tried three times to get through the book and fell asleep on a plane twice, on my back deck and didn't fall asleep in my car, but tuned it out. I drive one hour each way and listen to a lot of books, this is only the second one I have ever gotten that I truly could not listen to. Sorry, voice is way too monotone and lacks range to offer any character differentiation. Whew!
    Not worth listening
The first book in the series was pretty good - good enough that I was willing to buy the second one. Clearly the book is set up for a third one - and I won't be purchasing that one. I am willing to suspend disbelief with novels but this was just ridiculous. I was hopeful it would get better as it went on, but it didn't. I love the premise of the father with Alzheimers, but there is just WAYYY too much that is outside any realm of possibility and it makes it ridiculous. Keep writing, Mr. Thomson, but go ahead and lose these two characters.
    Great follow up
If you read or listened to "Once a spy", you need to go ahead a read/listen to this one. It's pretty good.
