Applying true leadership principles
This book did a very thourough job at explaining the true job of a leader - to inspire those around them to be the very best at what they can be. I have been in a recent phase of trying to read more and learn more about true, effective leadership and the skills that make up a great leader. This book brings that all into focus, and uses quotes and examples from great leaders to back it up. I also liked the simplicity of this book, being able to cover a lot of great information in a very informative and basic logical way. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to learn more about applying true leadership principles into their work and life.
Learn how to be a leader not a ruler......
For me leadership is more of a calling. There are people who are naturally born leaders, of cos with exposure and more experience they become better at it. Others are rulers. Unfortunately most people in leadership positions are more of rulers than leaders. I have been in leadership positions for almost all my life. To start with I am a first born to my two brothers. The society usually has a way of making the boy child feel superior to the girl child but leadership is in no way related to gender. Leadership is in-born and it is a skill too. I have several books and articles on leadership because I am always on the lookout to know how to be a good leader in the different positions I have been blessed to lead. This book contains 8 different laws of leadership. In my wide reading I have met very many laws of leadership. I am not sure how these laws are invented or who exactly comes up with them but for me somehow they work. For this book, number 8 was my most preferred.
