traded book for review and couldn't be happier
Great points and the way they are delivered and absorbed are almost subconscious. I let the book play when i go to bed, I don't recall anything vividly but I do find myself checking my thoughts and what they are saying.
brief and simple
book was brief and simple. narration was good, felt a little too many categorizations but the content was decent
Great practical tips
The author understands human nature and gives both theory and realistic tips on improving our self talk.
Easy Steps for Internal Constructive Criticism
This audible is short, simple, and to the point. The author sets forth that we are our own worst critic and that the negative thoughts in our head should be questioned. Once we realize all of our thoughts, even positive, should be mulled over we can get better at encouraging ourselves and get control over our negative thoughts and self-talk.
I think this book can be useful for anyone and its so short you can get through it in one sitting.
I think this will help me.
What about Randal Schaffers performance did you like?
His voice was clear and precise. It was an excellent choice for this book and I wouldn't hesitate to listen to him again.
Any additional comments?
I was provided a complimentary copy of this audio by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Ok, I think we can all say we've had negative thoughts about ourselves in one way or another. Personally I still think of things I did as a kid (and beyond) and think of how I could have done "whatever" differently. And of course I have moments where I forget something and yell at myself for being stupid. I don't usually beat myself up for long and for the most part I when I do something "dumb" I talk to myself in my head and then forget about. But of course sometimes there are things you just can't let go of. I'm not going to say what mine are (kinda personal) but usually those thoughts come in a torrent when I wake up at 2am for whatever reason and then I can't go back to sleep, then BAM, on come those thoughts.
Usually my method to try and clear my head is too picture a field, a pretty green field with colorful flowers and sunshine and butterfly's, and a little girl (basically me) running and having fun, not a care in the world.
