Useful and Practical tips for any work environment

I enjoyed listening to the book and the stories. While I work in the tech world, I can pinpoint the runners and riders in my organization immediately by his description. Very useful and looking forward to applying some of his techniques.

I started this book a while back, and I'll have to admit it didn't grab me right away. However, it's one of those books that is a "right book at the right time" kind of listen. Truly awesome!!!!

Narrative is a powerful thing

What made the experience of listening to I Know How She Does It the most enjoyable?

I love books on time management but more so when the time management deals with the mindset piece.

I am not the target market actually as I'm not in the 4% of top earning women, and the definition of Big Job rankled a lot because I think many of the tips are applicable to most women.

What other book might you compare I Know How She Does It to and why?

Overwhelmed - Brigid Schulte - same conundrum on working women and fitting it all in

I loved the mindset shifts. That while we tend to focus on one narrative (we're missing softball games so we need to give up work), there is another narrative too (we don't tell ourselves when we miss one game due to another kid's activities that we need to get rid of the kid :)). And if we have affluence, then use it to make your life easier - don't be a martyr.

I also loved the clever tips. Like if your organisation values a facetime culture, then choose one night a week (mon - thurs) and work very late but be very visible, and other days stick to normal hours. You're playing their game but being smart about it.

$50 000 workers work about 33 - 40 hours a week; "big career" workers work on average 10 hours more. Wow - is that all?

Fit my life perfectly

Reads a lot like "the millionaire next door" only with a different subject. I enjoyed hearing the basic principles of time management and not caring laid out in a book.

Confession: I ordered this audiobook by mistake

If you could sum up Bad Habits No More in three words, what would they be?

This book by S.J. Scott is permanently free on Kindle, and Steve Scott uses it as a lead magnet for his list of readers. When I ordered, I mistakenly accepted to order the audiobook version as well, which was inexpensive (less than 3 USD.) I should note that this is no reflection on the author. As it was inexpensive, I left the charge and downloaded the audiobook on my phone (my first Audible book!)

Though S.J. Scott has a very good reputation for the quailty of his books, I must say that expected no more than another book on habits, maybe a collection of blog articles or common advice freely available on the web. Boy, was I wrong!

This is a very well-researched book, full of important infornation about habits taken from credible sources (many of which I had previously read.) It is chock full of practical advise and credible examples, and it made me reconsider many of my previous approaches to curbing my bad habits.

And, most importantly, it is extremely well-written and edited. A quality asset indeed.

What about Greg Zarcones performance did you like?

The quality of the narrator is impressive. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I finished the book on audio, and played it more than once.

A book as beautiful as its title would suggest

What made the experience of listening to Beauty: The Invisible Embrace the most enjoyable?

This is some of the most moving, profound, wisdom-inducing literature I have ever encountered. I began to look at the world with fresh vision from the initial minutes, and my growth in perception continued through to the end and into subsequent listenings (three to date).

The book would be only half of itself without the author's lyrical delivery--a thing of beauty in itself--but even then that would be plenty. I recently heard a poem by Donohue recited by another reader, and it was beautiful and insightful, but nothing can replace Donohue's own inimitable voice in its expressive power and understanding.

I came to learn about the meaning of reverence and the relationship between mystery and beauty, and so much more. I felt truly edified by this book, and that I grew as a person from it. Thank you John O'Donohue.

Great content but audio needs to improve

Seth is great but his content deserves better production work. I have 3 audio books from Seth with subpar audio quality. I know Seth himself don't really care about audio quality as he mentioned in his speech but it does make a difference. With proper loudness normalization and equalization, they can sound a lot clearer especially when you listen while walking on the street or driving.

Don't eat the marshmallow

I love that this isn't an audio version of a book but it is a true audiobook. Created precisely for audio format.

Seth delivers many truth bombs that will inspire you do to your best work and live a life that matters. For the cheap price buying this audiobook shouldn't even be a question

I typically love Seth Godin but not this time

I have a ton of Seth's books and love them all but this one wasn't good. Its really hard to hear and understand what he's saying. Maybe its just the format, but it didn't work for me. I'd recommend many of his other books, but not this one.

This is a great overview of DBT. There is one boring part where all the different types of people DBT is good for is covered, but other than that it's excellent. The readers voice is perfect.

Powerful, Not Powerless

It was a review of previous times I had received CBT therapy in a clinical setting.

We apply what we learn from this therapy. I am the student and also the character. So I liked myself as the favorite character.

That I will always have emotions. They are innate. I can practise this therapy on a daily basis on trivial and important events that will always come around. I can change my behavior by realizing that I don't have to always act on how I am feeling emotionally.

This therapy would have made a huge difference in my life if taught at a young age. I was 58 years old, an active alcoholic,and contemplating suicide. Attempts at 12 step programs never seem to click; especially the 4th step- "A searching and fearless moral inventory". I used what I learned in CBT to be able to understand the Big Book of AA. The Big Book was written in 1939. CBT was not invented until the 60s by Dr. Beck. Anything that I read today; I can understand what is being stated because I can identify with what a writer may be feeling.I am a real alcoholic. Many persons in AA are not alcoholics or have not been brought low enough yet to accept it if they are.One of the difficulties is real alcoholics suffer so much before they make it. All do not make it out alive. The harm we cause others.

The Warrior Within

Great book with lots of insight and inspirational thoughts from Bruce Lee. It was read well and he did a good job on Bruce's "voice".

Narrator Blows the Entire Book (honest opinion)

The teachings and philosophies of this legendary man, Bruce Lee, are intrinsically down to earth! One of my few heroes for sure.

I simply can not give this book 5 stars, or even 4 stars, in fact the only reason why I gave it 3 is because I know the material is good.

But, I just can't get over the way the narrator narrates the book! It's as if he speaks in a way that completely makes you day dream, and you have to constantly fight for your attention of the book (maybe in some weird way that's what they wanted?). It is just so un-engaging that it bothers me such a great man's philosophies was read by this guy. The only part I enjoyed is he changes his voice to "sound" like Bruce Lee. Other than that, different narrator and it'd be a 5 star.

Mr Tracy has put out some fantastic stuff but this right here has struck a very deep chord in my life. Prioritizing or even just acknowledging the fact of your goals and how they affect what you are doing

Same Info as No Excuses

Great info. Brian Tracy is incredible. The only caveat is that it's the same info as covered in the book No Excuses. I bought both thinking that they would compliment each other. But it's 95% the same.

Smart and to the point.

Very good presentation by Brian as always . Succinct and informative. Last chapter on audiobook was after he said 'thank you for listening ' in the previous chapter...confusing . Other then that classic BT.

One of Brian Tracy's Best

First off, it's not a "how to be self-disciplined," it's really about the "miraculous" benefits of being self-disciplined in numerous areas of life and ways that you can use self-discipline to improve these areas. Tracy re-uses much of the material he's used in his other books, with a slant toward self-discipline for each area. He covers each topic with just about the right amount of depth (he's written entire books on several of them, such as goal setting). At the end, there's a "bonus" chapter after he's wrapped up the program that gives additional pointers in a number of additional areas.

Finally, there's also a PDF downloadable workbook that provides what's essentially an outline of the program along with all of Tracy's recommended action exercises at the end of each chapter with places to write answers to questions and make additional notes. This is a valuable addition to an audio-only program since there's no book from which to work.

Overall, it's excellent content and a very good value for the credit.

Not good

Just a bunch of lectures and stories. I was not satisfied. How to accomplish goals rather than increase confidence was the focus of this book. Visualizing the end state? Please. The secret revisited.

Jack Canfield is a great speaker / great story

The music interrupts the speaker in between sections and the music 'enhancements' could be much higher quality. It made me think this audio book may be meant for kids.

Disappointed with the content

Nothing special. It seems to be more of a self- marketing material with affirmation-based advice rather than a book that provides an insight into why some people become less confident than others and how to address this problem. The book does not say what to do if affirmations do not work. The music in this book was rather annoying.

Go For it!

This is one for the best material available in the realm of Self Esteem and Confidence. Jack is as usual one of the Best Teachers with his amazing story telling skills and upbeat enthusiasm. He shares practical tools and techniques to help you understand and improve your self confidence. I loved it and I highly recommend it.

Great book!

Loved this book. Narrator is awesome. Easy to listen to... I have a short attention span but this book kept me entertained. Helped me overcome my fear of speaking in front of a group- going to purchase so I can continue to listen to it and apply it to my life.
