Traditions are something that many of us hold on to tightly. Wanting to pass on some sort of meaning or fun especially during the holidays. This year I'd like to introduce you to a new tradition that will point everyone involved towards Jesus. It's more than setting up a manger scene and reading a story, it's a short daily reminder the entire month of December that will draw you closer to God in ways you never experienced before... with the Jesse Tree. 

My new friend Donna Amidon is the author of Tracing His Promise: Understanding the Bigger Story of Jesus and What That Means for Us. It's a beautiful blend of rich theology, relatable stories, and everyday application along with renewed hope and trust in God as you witness His faithfulness to His people. 

Tracing His Promise is an inspiring study of Jesus in the Old Testament. You can use the stories to teach your children/grandchildren about the promise of Christ during the Advent season. The book provides resources for families to begin a Jesse Tree tradition, including a link for a printable ornament for each day, tips on hosting an ornament exchange, and facts about how the Jesse Tree began.

She is a graduate of Southern Evangelical Seminary and a dedicated teacher at Back to Bible. She’s a seasoned speaker at women’s events and conferences, bringing insights from years of leading women’s Bible studies. She has held various church roles, including pastor’s wife, worship leader, small group director, and student ministries leader. Donna and her husband make their home in Virginia with their two children.
