This time they are talking about Ontario investing in mental health and addictions services for and operated by indigenous communities. • Music Director Cristina chats with 14-year-old singer and songwriter Ida-Maria Carriero. The Vaughan teen is also a youth motivational speaker and the creator of the Youth Empowering Youth Mental Health Program. Ida-Maria shares what inspired her to create the Program, as well as her first original song called "Today I..."

• On Mental Health Moments, Phil speaks with Vaughan-Woodbridge MPP, and Associate Minister of Health Micheal Tibollo. Ontario announced the creation of 4 new mobile mental health clinics, and minister Tibollo tells Phil about what these clinics are, how they'll work, where they're roaming and much more.

• Music Director Cristina chats with York Region-based singer and songwriter Kristina Dervaitis. In addition to being a music artist, Kristina is an OB-GYN. She has delivered thousands of babies and has performed hundreds of surgeries. Dr. Dervaitis is currently running her own

private practice in Newmarket, splitting her time between gynecology and music. In Fall 2021, she released her debut album "Overdue".

The 10-track release explores the topics of midlife transition and personal growth. Kristina shares a track from the album called "What's Coming".

On this week’s episode of Millennial Balance, Shaliza and Afua look at businesses that opened up during the pandemic. Joining the show are Mira Vuletic, co-owner of Poured Coffee and The RE Place and the co-owner of Brazykuts Barbershop, Carlos Bonifaz.

This week on Mental Health Moments, Phil talks with Megan Konarowski. Megan talks about her mental health before and during the pandemic, the kind of impact that blockades at hospitals has on health care workers and patients, the support systems that nurses use to deal with heavy emotions, and she explains what it was like being a nurse and a bride when groomsman passed out at her wedding.

Music Director Cristina chats with Toronto-based songwriter and recording artist Kaleb Hikele, who leads the folk-rock trio The Sun Harmonic. This past summer, the band released their cross-country album "Coast to Coast." Kaleb shares a few tracks with us, including "The Grand Old Lady Sails Away" which was performed and recorded live on the stage of Massey Hall within hours of it closing for renovations in 2018. Kaleb is set to release new music in 2022; an album with bandmates Dave Skrtich and Ian McLennan, and a solo release.

On this week’s episode of Millennial Balance, Shaliza’s dreams are coming true! Publicist and podcaster Dalton Higgins joins Shaliza and Afua to talk about the new course he’s bringing to X University, otherwise known as Ryerson University. The course is called “Deconstructing Drake and The Weeknd” and it’s going to be all about the major impact these two artists have had on the music scene, both in Canada and internationally.

This week on Mental Health Moments, Phil talks with Simone Papernick, the Patient Care Manager for Mackenzie Health's Mental Health Program. Simone and Phil talk about an upcoming event designed to let York Region residents ask the questions they want answered about mental health.

• Heading back to campus is definitely a strange feeling for a lot of university and college students. On this weekend’s edition of Millennial Balance, Afua and Shaliza will be joined by Riaz Nandan, the President of York University’s Federation of Students. Staying social and connected to the community has been difficult with classes being held online for the last year and a half. Riaz will discuss how to SAFELY make the most of your university experience since most students are now headed back to campus.

• Music Director Cristina Lavecchia chats with Toronto-based Dance music artist Zoe. Having multiple worldwide singles released over the past decade of her career, you are sure to recognize Zoe's voice with hits like "This Isn't Love Anymore" and "Come Home." In addition to being a music artist, Zoe is a business owner, she is studying for a PhD in Psychology, and she is writing her first novel. Zoe tells us her new EP "When I Call to You" is set to be released late 2021. She shares the title track with us (the acoustic version and dance mix) and what we can expect from her EP. Mental Health Moments: This week is all about compassion! Phil talks to Sara Jamil, the founder of Compassion First and a volunteer with the Charter for compassion. Both of the organizations are dedicated to teaching the power of compassion and spreading the word around the world.
