“There are many paths to redemption, not all of them peaceful.”
Happy Turkey Day, folks! This year, we’re talking about a movie with a pilgrim in it because it’s close enough to fit the theme...? We discuss our love of pulp heroes, the fantastic cast, and we get a solid visit to Stephen’s Christianity Corner!
Where to Find Us:
"Bow to your masters, dirty criminal scum! Bow to your masters!"
We here at Disenfranchised are saddened by the loss of the great Kevin Conroy... almost as saddened as we are the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm had a direct-to-video sequel (making it ineligible for us to cover). Instead, we're forced to take on a movie we'd all but forgotten existed, but one that allows us to chat about Kevin Smith, his View Askew-niverse, and eulogize the late Conroy.
Where does this film rank amongst the other Askew-niverse films? How has pot affected Smith's filmmaking? Can any other Batman actor even compete with Conroy in terms of overall supremacy? Listen in as we tackle all these subjects and so many more!

"He's drawing a blank, ma'am."
In honor of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever dropping in theaters this weekend, we're chatting about one of the first black superheroes to grace the silver screen! We talk this movie's impressive cast, how well this movie balances its '60s homages with the rampant cynicism of the '90s, and have another go-around about the state of modern fandom!

"Sometimes, you just hafta take what life gives ya, 'cause life is like a mop and sometimes life gets full of dirt and crud and bugs and hairballs and stuff... you, you, you gotta clean it out. You, you, you gotta put it in here and rinse it off and start all over again and, and sometimes, sometimes life sticks to the floor so bad you know a mop, a mop, it's not good enough, it's not good enough. You, you gotta get down there, like, with a toothbrush, you know, and you gotta, you gotta really scrub 'cause you gotta get it off. You gotta really try to get it off. But if that doesn't work, that doesn't work, you can't give up. You gotta, you gotta stand right up. You, you gotta run to a window and say, "Hey! These floors are dirty as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore!"
We've got it all, yes, we've got it all right here on this week's episode! With his new biopic being released this week, we're going to talk all things Weird Al! We discuss our favorite bits from the film, the crazy cast, and a Twinkie-Weiner sandwich is good, actually?

Welcome, boils & ghouls & non-binary werewolves, to the final episode of “Spooky-Thon III: Return of the Revenge!”
This week, our pal Stephen has been messing with things he shouldn’t have been and got sucked into a giant portal. So Brett is joined by birthday boy Tucker to talk about this under-appreciated horror comedy! We discuss the new 2019 commentary track, if the alternate ending was better, and so many tangents it’ll make your head rotate around and spew pea soup!

"Hell is only a word. The reality is much, much worse."
'Tis the season for our third annual Spooky-thon and we're kicking things off with an eldritch shriek straight from the Abyss as we tackle one of Brett's all-time favorite horror films... and just in time for a brand new Hellraiser film! And we're asking the tough questions: Does anyone do cosmically horrified better than Sam Neill? Just how indebted to Ridley Scott's Alien is this movie anyway? What would a sequel to this have even looked like?
PLUS: we answer listener questions and Brett shares his ultimate horror crossover pitch!

"Here are my terms: Goest thou to hell, and swiftly please, and there may Asmodaeus himself suckle from your diseased teat!"
Welcome to the prelude to Spooky-Thon! In honor of the release of Rob Zombie's Munsters film, we're talking about yet another classic horror-adjacent television show turned movie adaptation. We discuss Tim Burton's sordid past, the film's inability to appeal to anyone it intended to, and Brett's Dad gives us so much content!

Our good friend and original fan, author, filmmaker, podcaster, and genuinely nice guy J.P. Leck returns once again to blast off into space... only this time with fewer truckers and 100% more ice pirates! We discuss the oddly-stacked cast, how this film doesn’t know what it wants to be, and how this is just a retelling of A New Hope, actually?
