My round 3 was solid and was controlled and stable. It matched my original personal best I got in round 2 at +4, but I controlled my game a lot better. The misses and mess-ups were simply low experience levels in my game overall, and I can see where improvement is needed.

  The main goal was to throw smart and stay out of ob. I was in recovery mode, trying to save my stats for another day. I started with a bang by changing my approach on Hole One and chunked a KC Rock Pro straight at the basket. I was aiming dead center basket, but my release was a tad high of the release point I wanted. From the tee pad, it held its line and racked the hell out of the flag pole that was on top of the basket—getting a roar from the crowd and my card mates. I would indeed birdie the hole, but it was thrown clean and smart afterward. As the round progressed, I would miss a few throws, but again, it is the understanding that these experiences will give me the knowledge and experience to do better later on. As long as I focus on what I'm doing and be honest with myself that not all discs are defective. 

I would hold my 15 spot, which I knew would be my place today because round 1 did too much damage to bounce back from. I did the numbers, and to move up, I would have had to throw a negative round, but know I do not have that much experience for a course like this.  ... yet!!

    *** Cody is in the 1st position, but Levi Hancock stood his ground and matches him blow for blow, so they have to share it. Levi dropped a monster 2nd Rd score with a -11, bringing him also to -21.  But hold your marker disc ladies and gentlemen; Cody and Levi have NOT knocked Eric Dobmeier out of the picture and they will have to go head-to-head with him on Sunday because we now have a THREE-WAY TIE!!  At -21!! 🔥 

** At -19 with strong 2nd showings Nicholas Carl and Matt Hammersten can jump in and ruin someone's party plans on Sunday. 🥷

* Very happy and this is also a personal best for this course by 6 strokes. I have only played this course now 6 times. 😁 

My round 2 was a whole better than Rd 1 and cut 12 strokes off my round 1 score moving up 3 spots. The 1st round was too bad to be able to place decent for the tournament, but if I can correct a few poor disc choices and avoid some repeat bad judgment calls, I should be able to bump up another spot or two. I'm just trying to save my stats at this point. If I can avoid OB and play a bit smarter par is possible.

 JT Update  Round 1 played a 778 

 My round 1 was a dumpster fire,  but congrats to my card for playing an awesome round. Lauren, Kim, and Anthony playing with ya'll is an honor. 

On the other hand, I could not stay away from OB (out of bounds) !!  I have played this course five other times and never had an issue with OB here. I'm beyond frustrated with myself. It was a mess of a game; I can't seem to get a handle on it. I will look to settle this mess down today and stay away from OB at least. 

My Round Two Saturday will begin at 9:45 a.m. I will work just to stay in bounds. I know I have not been playing long, but still, I'm better than the crap I threw Friday.

Highland Park Forehand Only DGC-9  8-1-2023, Roanoke Virginia 

For any 9-hole course, I restrict myself to forehand throws only.  I can putt it with whatever I like. Any Drives or longer upshots must be done with the disc I have chosen for the match and thrown forehand. 

Today I'm using two Star Leopards weighted at 175 each. I make two throws BUT only 1st throw counts toward the UDisc scorecard. This is my 196th U-Disc Course since I began using it back in July of 2022.

A short but challenging course is on-site at True Timber. This is a gem of a property tucked between two railroad tracks, not what you expect to find in the middle of the city: beautiful woods, creek, and field factor into play.
