On this week's episode we discover that we need a 5th person for the next bracket show we do! High atop the mountain of strangeness sits a land where films like Gnome Mobile reside. A film released as the studio was going through major changes with the passing of Walt Disney, we see the Banks children reunited along with Ed Wynn and the director of the film that featured all three, Mary Poppins. So it has Robert Stevenson at the helm, Ed Wynn in the cast, the Sherman Brothers making some tunes and it's all based on a book by Upton Sinclair. What could do wrong? Let's see! Lot's to do! Extra sized show this week as we tackle on the absolute classics in 1964's Mary Poppins. The music, the acting, the costumes, the effects, there is so much to discuss that there is no time to lose. On this week's show we change focus. We looked to you, the DMH Family, to share your favorite Disney memories. Whether it be something that happened in the parks, on a cruise, a golf course, anything as long as it happened while visiting Disney in some aspect. The music of a Disney animated film can make it something that stretches generations. The ballads, the title track, the sidekick song, all of them can find their way into the heart of the watcher and give that film a very specific memory. Even more so, a great villain or hero song can define the entire film overall. Through the years there have been numerous villain and hero songs that have become staples of the Disney brand, but which is our favorite? That last bit is very important. "Our favorite". Not the "best", or even "your" favorite, but ours. To everyone who fills out the bracket below, you will most likely have a vastly different outcome and that is what makes it so great. Each person is effected by every song in their own particular way. So, after you listen to us deliberate through the bracket, share your personal results with us! After nearly a year of hype, rumors and reports of a troubled production, Rogue One : A Star Wars Story has finally hit the big screen. Following the success of The Force Awakens, there is a lot riding on how Rogue does in regards to continuing the films outside of the Saga entries. Taking an established money maker and introducing a new tone and look can upset the norm, take away from the previous momentum that built in TFA, and create questions towards future productions. So how does it hold up? Does it add a level of intrigue to A New Hope? What of all the reported re-shoots and hiring of Tony Gilroy towards the end of production? Is the use of Vader done appropriately? We will discuss all that and more on this week's episode of the Disney Magic Hour as we welcome a special guest, Stan Solo!

On this week's episode on DMH we turn the clock back to Christmas of 1963 when Sword and the Stone was released. We will discuss the strange path to production that the film followed and the oddities that lay within the production itself. It also marks the final fully animated film while Walt Disney was still alive so it has its place in Disney history. Recently I write an article taking a statistical look at the quality of the recent batch of films produced by both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation. What I found was that once the difference in the studios was vast with Pixar leading the world in terms of quality and financial success. A recent resurgence from Walt Disney Animation Studios has closed that gap though and some even claim, given them the edge. Let's put those stats aside though and just discuss our fan interest in both. Has one taken the lead? Are they neck in neck? What about future projects? Does one studio have our attention more than it's in company brethren?
