PFF dropped their QB rankings entering the 2025 NFL season and Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels found himself at #6 on the list, just behind the Elite tier of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, along with High End Starter Jalen Hurts. The other High End Starters behind Jayden are Matthew Stafford and Justin Herbert. Is this a fair spot for Jayden to be ranked? We also give our thoughts on the list as a whole.Kliff Kingsbury continues to be the offensive coordinator here in Washington for a 2nd year. The Commanders were 5th in the league in scoring last season and 7th in yards per game. Offseason additions to the offense include Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel via trade, and then Jaylin Lane, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Josh Conerly Jr. in free agency. What are expectations for the offense in Kliff's 2nd year in charge and Jayden's sophomore year?We know the big names - WR Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel and Brian Robinson, but who is a dark horse candidate to contribute to this offense? Popular answers here are Luke McCaffrey and Ben Sinnott entering their sophomore seasons. The NFC East is going to be the division featured in Hard Knocks this season, which helps explain the back loaded NFC East schedule, featuring 4 straight divisional games against the Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, and Eagles in that order to round the season out. The Washington Commanders signed kicker Matt Gay to a 1 year, $4.25 million deal. The former Colts kicker has hit over 80% of his field goals in every season but his very first one (with the Bucs). He also has a high touchback %, which is a significant contrast from former Commanders kicker Austin Seibert. We also bid farewell and say thank you to kicker Zane Gonzalez. The Commanders have now made numerous moves in free agency and just completed the 2025 NFL Draft, picking up draftees as well as undrafted free agents. RFK Stadium is going to be the new home of the Washington Commanders as early as 2030!  In a historic deal between the Commanders and the DC Government, the team will get a new stadium that seats 65,000 people and has 8,000 parking spots.  It will also be a dome!  What are your thoughts on the new stadium?

The 2025 NFL Draft is just 1 week away! We bring in the expert of everything mock draft data, Ben Robinson, to talk to us about the mock draft data he’s accumulated. His website, Grinding The Mocks, shows mock draft data for the top 50 players on the board, with more being revealed after the draft is over: https://grindingthemocks.shinyapps.io/Dashboard/We begin with our 1st round pick. Philosophically, do you draft for need or best player available? Ben goes with best player available…. but with a caveat. We go through names that are likely possible with that 1st round pick, including S Malaki Starks out of Georgia, EDGE Donovan Ezeiraku out of Boston College and James Pearce out of Tennessee, amongst others. The 2nd round pick is an intriguing conversation, with Amit and KDot being interested in RB at that spot (assuming it’s a guy like Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson), but Ben pushes back and says it’s important to continue bolstering the defense or going with a more premium position like WR in this spot. It would be the 4th round where you’d like at RBs like Bhayshul Tuten out of Virginia Tech or Damien Martinez out of Miami. We also talk NFL more broadly, asking about draft risers and fallers as we’re just 1 week out from the 1st round. We touch on the Commanders stadium news, with it looking more and more likely that RFK is going to be the site for the team. The Commanders will put up $2.5 billion, while the city would pay up to $850 million on their side. The Comment Mailbag features 7 comments. Thank you all for the comments!
