The Washington Commanders concluded their preseason with a 20-10 victory over the New England Patriots. The score doesn’t matter, but there were plenty of moments for various players trying to make the 53 man roster.
The big winner of the night was WR Martavis Bryant. He drew multiple penalties, and caught 3 balls for 20 yards, including 1 that was a contested catch over the middle for a TD. Will it be enough to make the roster? His main competition appears to be WR Byron Pringle at this point. The other winner of the night was RB Michael Wiley, who also scored a TD. Will he make the roster? Lots of questions around many guys, including LB/EDGE Jamin Davis, our first round pick from just 3 years ago.

August 16, 2024 Commanders - Dolphins Joint Practice Recap, Jayden Daniels FANTASTIC, Mike Sainristil vs Tyreek Hill
The Washington Commanders had a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins yesterday, and play a preseason game tomorrow at 7pm ET against them.
How did the joint practice go? Well, Dolphins media members were stunned at the excellence of QB Jayden Daniels. He threw 5 TDs in redzone drills against the Dolphins defense, hitting WR Terry McLaurin for multiple scores. Jayden Daniels continues to impress both local reporters and, increasingly now, national reporters from other teams. Other positives are from the other side of the football, with CB Mike Sainristil doing a good job against WR Tyreek Hill in the redzone, and CB Emanuel Forbes had a pass breakup! Signs continue to point positively for the Washington Commanders this upcoming season.
WR Jahan Dotson has been put under a microscope due to recent comments made by Dan Quinn saying that the WR2 position is a competition. What do we make of the comments? Will Jahan Dotson pull through and be our WR2?
What are expectations for the upcoming preseason game against the Dolphins? KDot and Amit both speak on wanting to see positive body language from all the players. August 11, 2024 Commanders vs Jets Game Recap: Jayden Daniels, Dyami Brown, Frankie Luvu, Mike Sainristil & More
The Washington Commanders lost to the New York Jets 17-20, but the score was completely irrelevant and there was LOTS to be excited about.
Jayden Daniels only had 1 drive, but was basically perfect, going 2-3 for 45 yards and running in a 3 yard TD to cap off the drive. He threw a PERFECT deep ball to WR Dyami Brown, who continues to impress this camp period, and the team was all smiles seeing the potential future franchise QB do his thing.
On the defensive side of the ball, we arrived violently. Frankie Luvu and Mike Sainristil led the charge in pursuit on a 3rd and 14 screen play by the Jets that forced a 3 and out. It encapsulated what Joe Whitt wants - play fast without needing to think.
Both sides of the ball showed tremendous effort from start to finish, and how about Tress Way with the solo tackle on the punt return??? The team was FIRED UP when he made the play.

August 09, 2024 Washington Commanders vs New York Jets Preseason Game 1 Preview, Joint Practice Recap
The Washington Commanders had a joint practice with the New York Jets yesterday, and play a preseason game tomorrow at 12pm ET against them.
How did the joint practice go? We heard some positive and negative reviews. The positive: Emmanuel Forbes, our first round pick last year, had an interception and a couple pass breakups. Jayden Daniels looked sharp in 7v7 action against an excellent Jets secondary and linebacker crew. Brycen Tremayne and Dyami Brown both made some nice plays as well. The negative: Our secondary had problems against Garrett Wilson. The offensive line, while filled with backups, did not hold their own well against the Jets defense in 11v11 action. As a result, Jayden Daniels had to check the ball down a lot. What do we make of the various reviews?
What are expectations for the upcoming preseason game against the Jets? KDot and Amit both speak on wanting to see positive body language from all the players. July 26, 2024 Training Camp Notes - Jayden Daniels EXCELLENT Start, Emmanuel Forbes Bulks Up, Johnny Newton Return
The Washington Commanders began training camp on Wednesday, and players have hit the ground running! Let's start at the quarterback position, where Jayden Daniels has looked excellent so far. There have been numerous clips of Daniels showing off his accuracy and ball placement both in drills as well as full 11 v 11 scrimmages. It looks to be a question of when, not if, he is officially named the starter.
On the defensive side of the ball, rookie DT Johnny Newton was activated off of the NFI list and is already practicing, well ahead of schedule. CB Mike Sainristil received praise from Dan Quinn for his maturity and work ethic, and CB Emmanuel Forbes has put on 17 pounds this offseason! As of now, all the vibes are high with our Washington Commanders.

The Washington Commanders have training camp beginning next week, and so we've got one more episode before we dive back into the Commanders fully. For the time being, KDot and Amit look at the NFL landscape and decide to pick a team to be their "side piece" for the upcoming NFL season. A team that they will root for on the side to spice things up this season.
The criteria is simple - the team must have won 7 games or fewer last season. Bonus points if they have Super Bowl odds greater than 100-1. The following teams are eligible to be side pieces: Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans.
