  • Commanders Trademark Issue: Name Change? Chase Young No-Show + Armani Rogers Out For Season

The Washington Commanders… may not be the Washington Commanders? The team ran into trademark issues around the name “Commanders”, something we, as fans, were assured would not happen. Now that it has happened, is there a chance the name changes? How big is this issue? Amit and KDot dive in and discuss the details of the snag and the likelihood of a name change.

Chase Young is a no-show for OTAs… again. Do you have a problem with Chase Young missing out on OTAs in a contract year? KDot and Amit discuss how serious, if at all, this situation is.
Tight End Armani Rogers suffered a torn achilles and is very likely to miss the entirety of the 2023 season. A favorite of KDot’s, this is a big loss for the team and at such an early stage of offseason training. Just how big of a loss is this?

  • Washington Commanders Ownership Update, Sam Howell vs Jacoby Brissett QB1, Emmanuel Forbes HYPE

Dan and Tanya Snyder have agreed to sell the Washington Commanders franchise to Josh Harris and his group of investors! However, no league vote will take place at league meetings in Minnesota this coming week. Why? Despite everything being signed, there is still a vetting process to go through. There are 12 people to vet before this sale can become official!

We then jump onto the football field to discuss QB1 for next season. All signs point to Sam Howell, but how tight a leash does he have? Jacoby Brissett is the highest paid backup in the league, and we have a coaching staff in Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio that will be invested in right now so that they can keep their jobs. How long do you think Sam Howell has as QB1 before the coaching staff would look to make a change?
1st round pick in this year’s draft CB Emmanuel Forbes is getting a lot of hype at rookie camp! One coach said that he is “really f——— good”. Is there a lot to be excited about with Emmanuel Forbes, or is the team pumping this information out to justify taking Forbes over fellow CB Christian Gonzalez?

  • Washington Commanders Offseason Review: Did We Do Enough?

The Washington Commanders have now gone through the transactional part of the offseason, re-signing DT Daron Payne, signing new players like LB Cody Barton, G Andrew Wylie and C Nick Gates, and then going through the NFL Draft, highlighted by 1st round pick CB Emmanuel Forbes. The big question now is: How did we do? Did we do enough to be competitive this coming season? KDot and Amit provide their answers, and even look beyond this season.

  • Washington Commanders Select CB Emmanuel Forbes, Mississippi State, Chase Young Option Declined

The Washington Commanders selected Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi State with the 16th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He is an absolute ballhawk, with 14 INTs in his collegiate career and 6 career pick 6s. Simply put, Emmanuel Forbes has elite instincts and a nose for the football. At just 166 pounds, is there concern over his size in an NFL where it feels like every other WR is built like AJ Brown?

The Commanders also made significant headlines by choosing not to pick up DE Chase Young’s 5th Year Option. Why did they choose to not pick it up? KDot and Amit discuss their thoughts on the situation, and whether Chase Young will be motivated by this decision.

  • Washington Commanders First 3 Rounds NFL Draft Predictions!

The NFL Draft is less than a week away! The Washington Commanders have 8 picks in the draft, and 3 picks in the top 100.

I am joined by Benjamin Robinson, author of Grinding The Mocks, a website that shows you data compiled by thousands of mock drafts to help determine where NFL Draft prospects are going to go in the draft.
We begin our conversation talking about the Commanders 1st round pick, which is pick 16 overall. The biggest position being mocked to the Commanders in the first round, by an overwhelming majority, is cornerback! Names being floated are Joey Porter Jr., Devon Witherspoon, Christian Gonzalez and Deonte Banks.
The conversation transitions to round 2, pick 47 overall where we look to be addressing the offensive line. Names being floated here are Dawand Jones, Cody Mauch, Steve Avila, and Matthew Bergeron.
We then jump to the third round where we have pick 97 overall, and names that are mentioned here are Luke Musgrave, Darnell Washington, Sam LaPorta, Tucker Craft as tight end options.
Speaking of tight ends, is it worth spending a 1st round pick on a Dalton Kincaid or a Michael Mayer?
Running backs seem to be a dime a dozen these days… what makes Bijan Robinson so special?

  • Dan Snyder AGREES TO SELL TEAM... In Principle, No Jeff Bezos Bid, Kyle Kuzma Spencer Dinwiddie Beef

Dan Snyder has agreed, in principle, to sell the Washington Commanders franchise to Josh Harris, Mitchell Rales and Magic Johnson for the sum of $6.05 billion! This is a joyous and momentous day for Commanders fans that are here, and ones that will now be returning after many, many years. Can we finally fully celebrate? Amit and KDot determine whether to officially declare victory.

Spencer Dinwiddie, former Wizard for 5 minutes, spoke to FanDuelTV about his time at Washington and specifically targeted Kyle Kuzma in his words. Kuzma didn't take too kindly to that and had his own Twitter thread with things to say about Dinwiddie and his time here. Who won? Why did this happen? Amit and KDot dive in.

  • Magic Johnson Bid Is IN, Commanders Mock Draft Review, Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark, Jill Biden Fail

The Washington Commanders sale continues to push forward with another update.  Magic Johnson was on the Today Show earlier this week and was asked about the Commanders and he did admit that the bid is in!  He, Josh Harris, and their group now wait to see what Dan Snyder says.  Can Jeff Bezos still slip in and put in a winning bid?  KDot and Amit discuss all parties, including Steve Apostolopoulos.

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network put out a mock draft recently that has the Washington Commanders taking Tight End out of Utah, Dalton Kincaid.  He is actually taken 13 spots higher than KDot’s #1 ranked TE, Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame.  What do KDot and Amit think of this pick?  Would they be happy if this is the direction the Commanders went?  Who would they take instead?

Women’s college basketball scored HUGE ratings and had plenty of drama discussed after LSU beat Iowa 102-85 in the championship game.  Baltimore native Angel Reese, in the seconds before winning, had some things to say and do to Caitlin Clark and some people loved it, some people hated it.  KDot and Amit discuss their thoughts on it, including their reaction to Dr. Jill Biden inviting BOTH LSU and Iowa to the White House.

  • Washington Commanders $6 Billion Bids OFFICIAL! Expected Sale Date + What To Do In The 1st Round!

The Washington Commanders had some sales news updates this past week!  Josh Harris, Magic Johnson, and Mitchell Rales have submitted a $6 billion bid, as has Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos.  So we have 2 bidders for the team at Dan Snyder’s requested asking price.  The finish line is closer and closer to being reached!  Will he sell to one of these two groups?

The 1st round of the NFL Draft is on April 27th, and the Washington Commanders have pick 16 overall for the 2nd straight year.  What position should they look to address with the pick?  KDot and Amit have differing opinions on what to do here.

  • Washington Commanders Offseason Moves, NFC East Moves, Dan Snyder In Monaco, ChatGPT: What Is It?

The Washington Commanders have made a number of offseason additions to the team, and we break it all down for you from Andrew Wylie, new starting RT for the Commanders, to waiver pickup Cam Dantzler, CB, from the Minnesota Vikings.  Jacoby Brissett, Cody Barton, Nick Gates, and others are all talked about in this show.  We also bid farewell to Taylor Heinicke, Cole Holcomb (superstar) and Wes Schweitzer.  Thank you guys for all that you did for our franchise.

The NFC East had a number of high profile moves, with the New York Giants acquiring star TE Darren Waller from the Las Vegas Raiders for a 3rd round pick, and the Dallas Cowboys acquiring CB Stephon Gilmore for a late round pick from the Indianapolis Colts.  Which of these moves is scarier?  What about the Philadelphia Eagles?  Is the NFC East the best division in football?

Dan Snyder, current owner of the Washington Commanders, has cleared out his things from team facilities and his yacht is in Monaco.  What does it all mean?  When will this sale happen?

  • Commanders Pod: More Dan Snyder Headlines & Headaches, DT Daron Payne Franchise Tagged

Dan Snyder, current owner of the Washington Commanders, has found himself in more headlines once again. This time, there’s a secret $55 million loan that took place without his prior ownership team knowing about, and he’s asking for indemnification if he sells the team. Owners are outraged. Will they vote him out? Will Dan Snyder sell at all? Or is this all just a whole bunch of nothing? Amit and KDot break down the ESPN and Washington Post articles, and explain what is going on.

On to the actual Commanders football personnel, the team franchise tagged Daron Payne, meaning he has a 1 year, $18.9 million offer on the table from the team. However, Payne will be looking for more guaranteed money and a longer term deal. Will we get one done? The deadline is July 15. Additionally, it is a non-exclusive tag, which means that other NFL teams can come in with an offer for Daron Payne. Should he accept and the Commanders choose not to match, the team would receive 2 first round draft picks.
