The Washington Commanders (7-6-1) lost to the New York Giants (7-6-1) by a score of 20-12 on Sunday Night Football at FedexField in a MONUMENTAL NFC East clash.

The episode begins with the positives from the game, highlighting solely rookies Jahan Dotson and Brian Robinson Jr. The rest of the episode gets into the many, many issues that the Commanders had.

Beginning with the offense, they only scored 12 points. That is also the same number of carries that RB Brian Robinson Jr. had while averaging 7.4 yards per carry. Why didn’t he get the ball more? An excellent question that needs answering. What else went wrong? A rookie on the Giants defensive line, Kayvon Thibodeaux, absolutely had his way with starting LT Charles Leno Jr., forcing a sack, forced fumble, and scoring a TD all on the same play. Starting QB Taylor Heinicke was also poor in the game, and left plenty of room for criticism.

Flipping over to the defense, they allowed a soul-sucking 97 yard TD drive that took 8 minutes off the clock and included a 4th and 9 conversion. This is the 2nd time in nearly as many weeks that Daniel Jones has looked good against us. What on earth happened? We discuss the defensive line, the secondary and Jack Del Rio.

We can’t not mention the referees and their tremendous botched calls at the end of the game. Amit and KDot tee off on the referees and how badly they did, calling for better referees in the NFL moving forward, including making it a full-time position.

The Washington Commanders (5-5) went to Philadelphia to take on the then undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) on Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field and won 32-21, nearly covering the Eagles 11.5 point spread.

The offense, led by Taylor Heinicke, Terry McLaurin, and Brian Robinson Jr., delivered a masterclass in time of possession and how to sustain long drives against a great team. Robinson was fantastic in his ability to continuously get 3-4 yards, leading to 3rd and short. This allowed the playbook to open up for OC Scott Turner and the offense would consistently convert on 3rd down.

This led to a fresher defense, as the Commanders held the ball for over 40 minutes in this contest. Darrick Forrest aka DFoe had an interception and fumble recovery, Jamin Davis recovered a fumble, and Casey Toohill would griddy into the endzone for 6 to end the game.

The Washington Commanders (4-4) are now on a 3 game winning streak after defeating the Indianapolis Colts (3-4-1) 17-16.

Taylor Heinicke threw an interception that would lead to the Colts going up 16-7 in the 4th quarter. He proceeded to play lights out, going 12/14 for 151 yards, a rushing TD and 2 clutch 4th down conversions to keep the drive alive. On top of that, he allowed Terry McLaurin to make a play in his home city against one of the best corners in the NFL, Stephon Gilmore. The connection between Taylor Heinicke and Terry McLaurin is absolutely electric! What do we think of their connection and how the team is playing with Heinicke at QB?
