DISTRIKT

No party like a DISTRIKT party at Burning Man! My first gig at DISTRIKT was 8 years ago and it’s still one my favorite gigs of the year.

Just another sunset in the desert... Or could it have been a special occasion? There was the aerialist hanging from a crane, there were ecstatic screams from every direction, there was family all around me, there was abundant tequila and infinite smiles, and there might even have been some Barry White. The sunsets at DISTRiKT continue to be the best party of the year for me. If you missed it this year...this is what it sounded like.

What a thrill to join my friends at @DISTRIKT-sound this year at #burningman and get to play the inaugural set on their stunning new stage! I was feeling the love and went for a joyful house vibe to get the party started. Brought out some of my favorite tracks by @lucadebonaire, @angeloferreri, @reneamesz, @jay-vegas, @stankolev and more. Thanks again to DISTRIKT and everyone who braved the heat to come dance! @leylmaster

"Here is my set recorded from DISTRIKT 2017, Tuesday 3 pm. It was a record hot Burn this year and the day already blazing. With 10 minutes before my set, a mob of clouds rolled in to save the day. The crowd started filling in quickly. I kept it weird, deep, dark, light, techy, minimal with a splash of dub, and always fucking groovy. The Funkworks Funktion One's are always a pleasure to play on, especially with Cody Kane dialing the sound. And the stage this year was so dope.

Camping with DISTRIKT was an awesome experience. The amount of energy, blood, sweat, and love that goes into this camp is incredible. Much respect to my DISTRIKT family. You are all crazy and I love you all!

I am blessed to share my passion with everyone. This year was full of challenges and many rewards. This moment was one of the highlights of my existence."

I was looking forward to playing on this stage for years, ever since I was lucky enough to play in 2011. I had a sound in my heart, feet and body, and I just couldn't get it out, not until I let it all out at @DISTRIKT-sound. I have to shout out to my whole tribe who was front and center from the beginning to the end of this set, especially with all that heat! This year was incredible in so many ways. My hats off to the whole DISTRIKT tribe who built one of the sickest DJ booths I have ever had the honor of playing. The vibes were thick, and the drink's were thicker. I only hope you can close your eyes and let this mix take you back to one of the hottest years on the playa, and to me one of the best ever! Burning Man 2017 you blew me away. @Vitamindevo

Flash Nightclub in Washington DC is always one of my favorite places to play. This was our 3rd annual DISTRIKT party at Flash and the DC crowd did not disappoint! It was a packed house all night long with people dancing their faces off. This is my live set from July 15th, enjoy!

See you on the playa!

This episode comes from Dance Spirit's Friday afternoon set at DISTRIKT during Burning Man 2016.

"Our experience at Distrikt was definitely our most memorable DJ experience as first time burners. It had all the makings of the stories we had heard from other artists, an amazing sound system, lots of friends and people, and possibly everything going wrong technically speaking as the party wore on and increased intensely with the passing minutes. We had an absolute blast playing our own material, a lot of it from our more harder and bigger songs in our library. Hope you enjoy the set, there is a lot of fun that went into the creation of it." ~Dance Spirit

The DISTRIKT HOLIDAZE party has become quite the tradition for us each December. We get the whole crew together and spend a few days assembling decorations, then descend on Public Works like over-stimulated elves to rock the house. I particularly enjoyed this year's event as I got to hang out with our headliner Kenny Glasgow - quite the character that guy. Enjoy!

The heat of the day can only be broken by some melodic techno beats, Heavy bass frequencies move the air, coming out of the massive Funktion-One system at DISTRIKT. People are starting to gather up. This is the beauty of this unique Burning Man experience. This is what made DISTRIKT my home on the Playa.

Typically I Dj techno at parties in Detroit but when I Dj in the Desert I prefer to mix at DISTRIKT. The vibe is pure and the Funktion-One sound is an experience all on its own. Feeling stoked to be invited back on the decks. I put on my headphones and took a drink of DISTRIKT's cold Beer then started into my mix. My story is told through music. I wanted to play a set similar to what my Detroit people love to hear. Let me take you on a journey into my vibration, my soul, my music. Always an Honor to be invited to Dj on such a special stage. Come Dance with us. WE ARE DISTRIKT.
