Divine discipline is designed to get you back where you belong—in fellowship with God and growing in the grace and knowledge of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God’s discipline comes from His justice and is always done in grace because He loves you. “For whom the Lord loves, He judges, like a father to a son in whom he delights.” (Prov 3:12). You may be suffering now because you walked away from the plan of God. You chose to go off on the My Way Highway. This is the law of volitional responsibility. “As a man soweth so he reaps.” (Gal 6:7). You are responsible for the decisions you make. Bad decisions destroy future options.
