Katie McGinley Petersen is a trained mediator and collaborative divorce attorney licensed to practice law in Washington and Oregon. She received her BA in History from Gonzaga University in 2004, and continued at Gonzaga University School of Law to obtain her law degree in 2008.

Katie began her legal career at Open Door Legal Services in Seattle, WA, working with people who were affected by homelessness navigate the legal system through weekly legal clinics and individual representation in the area of family law.

After moving to Vancouver, WA, in 2011, she opened her own family law firm, representing clients in a wide variety of family law matters. She also worked in dependency court, representing children in foster care. She volunteered her time at the monthly Domestic Violence Law clinic through the YWCA.  Since 2016, she has worked with Catholic Community Services in their Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Program, helping to place refugee children, who do not have a parent or guardian to care for them, into licensed homes in Washington.

After years of working in the traditional litigation attorney model, she decided to help her clients in a more holistic way and became a certified mediator, collaborative divorce lawyer, and certified life coach. She transitioned her traditional practice to a non-litigation law practice, helping clients to settle their legal matters outside of court and coaching them through the divorce process.

She joined Kehoe Moneyhun Law, LLC, in 2022.

Robin is a litigator as well as a trained family law mediator, and in that capacity, helps couples amicably resolve family law issues through informed negotiation.

For several years, Robin has served as editor of the firm’s divorce-focused blog, the Divorce Law Monitor. Outside of work, she is a mentor for the Women’s Bar Foundation Family Law Project for Domestic Abuse Survivors.
