I'm very proud 2 present 2 you all here a mixtape of Ken Collier Live @ Club Heaven in Detroit back in 1993'. I was God blessed 2 get a Master Copy of this tape by thee infamous G-Man of thee now legendary Deep House Page. This tape captures Ken Collier 1 of Detroit'z leader in House Music in his element. Like Chicago had Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy & my fave GodFather, Farley "JackMaster" Funk. NYC had their Larry Levan, in Cleveland we had Cochise Collier & Eddie Benson 2 name a few.
In any case our brother Ken dropz some hot jointz in this live mix. Even some latin flavor house which I dig. Same way I feel about Derrick May, his set'z alwayz has some of those jointz with latin drumz... & that'z frrrreeeessshhh!!!

Just found this from a pack of cassettes a promoter sent to me back in the early 90'z for our then radio show I did with Cano on 91.5 FM WPRK, Orlando. I believe Derrick May came in this pack as well... which I believe I posted that show here on my soundcloud.

If must say I like Frankie when he was in Chicago but loved him when he came to NYC. He kept evolving & embracing the new, & I can respect that.

July 10, 1993 Frankie Knuckles Live - Hot 97 All Night House Party, NYC 7-10-93' (Manny'z Tapez)
Even though Frankie stepped in2 thee next realm (Heaven), I will continue 2 do what I can 2 preserve his mixtapes so I can share with tha new generation. Festivals with pretty DJ'z is cool, but 2 me real House Music is played in raw clubs or even bigger afterhour clubs but with people dancing with all types of colorful people. From 21 years of age 2 thee older school Disco-Heads that actually lived it like myself.
Last time I heard Frankie live was @ Vagabond in Miami back in 2008'. That was a perfect space & vibe that I haven't seen currently.
Anyhow, Frankie goes Frankie on this mixtape which was recorded live from the Sound Factory Bar back in 93'. I hope you can feel what I feel as I hear this mix while uploading this. BTW, pic of Frankie & myself, Manny Cuevas was @ the WMC Def Mix Party back in 1997 @ Club Liquid.
