Part 1 (Side A)

I must say my life in finding new music or the learning of classics from other cities & dj'z seemed to come to me rather easy. People alwayz ask me how do I know so much in (ALL) music... & my answer

is that I simply prayed for that knowledge & thingz just came together as I grew up & going through my musical ropes. A true God blessing from above.

In this case, I was throwing our KCP parties full throttle with my 2 brotherz Jose' & Jesus Cuevas. In 1993 I took a short break from radio & concentrated more on our eventz. I also took a step back from DJing & let my brother'z do that while I selected the music. I also hired various dj'z & artist outside of KCP & let them perform & educate my crowd to different soundz.

Back around 1991' my girlfriend at the time worked at a resort where she met this police officer who was stationed at that resort. She told him about me & soon we became very good friends. He would invite me over & make these tapes for me & tell me about the NYC underground of the 70'z & places he played at. I had a list of those clubz & flyerz but unfortunately I either lost or maybe tossed out on my movez. But 2 clubz that I remember him mentioning was Better Days & Buttermilk Bottoms.

The mixes he made for me were all the music he played at, but mainly Buttermilk Bottoms was the club he played at the most & has his best memories. He also educated me on some songs I never was hype to. Like Gloria Gayner'z "Casanova Brown' & many more.

So for now, here'z part 1 of my brother DJ Louie-T.

What do you get when you have 2 dope Puerto Rican DJ/Remixers/Producters. One with a Latin Hip Hop & Freestyle background & thee other str8 up Hip Hop raw beatz... well if you haven't guest by know, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm talking about Masters At Work aka Little Louie Vega & Kenny Dope Gonzalez. There is no music that they did that I was like, ah it'z ok... but more like what's this dope joint!!! At one point in my life when I used to go to record shops, if I saw a MAW or Little Louie Vega or Kenny Dope Gonzalez record. I wouldn't even listen to it cuz I knew it was going to be a jam.

Not to mention their remixes, where they can take a teen pop artist like (at the time) Debbie Gibson song & make it into a str8 up underground house stomper.

Man I can go on & on but I'll stop here as we go 20 yrz back with this Masters At Work live mix on Hot 97 Spins Out Of Control Radio Show.

Many of you may wonder where DJ Pierre got tha name "Wild Pitch" for his mixes. Well, my brother Pierre used to attend these amazing underground eventz called The Wild Pitch Party. Pierre being a regular @ these eventz, started calling his raw new style of music Wild Pitch Mixes in tribute to the resident at these partiez, Mr. Nick Jones.

Here'z an early live set by my brother Juan Atkins. I was blessed 2 play alonside him in Amsterdam back in 2008'. Not 2 mention, we were listening 2 the Dave Clarke show on our way 2 the club we were djing at & Dave dropped 1 of his earlier jointz & I asked him what he was saying lyric wise... & he just started singing it live in the car. Man I wish I would of video taped it!!!

Oh well, I guess it was just meant 4 me & DJ Pierre who also was in the car with us.

Let'z roll back 2 tha yr of 1993 when John Acquaviva sent me a promo mix for my then radio show I did with my 2 brother'z Jose' & Jesus Cuevas.

I met John @ this rave in Cocoa Beach, Florida along with Moby, Cybersonik & Prodigy just to name a few. In any case, when John dropped LNR's 'It's A Mystery To Me', me & my good friend absolutely lost it on the dancefloor!! I knew I had to meet this DJ that night. After his set we chatted for a bit & exchanged info & not long after he sent me this mixtape to play on my radio show.

Not to mention a few promo records along with the promo tape.

So here it is, I just found it & digitized it asap!!

If you see this John, thanks again for such a memorable night & thee musical gifts which I shared with the city of Orlando, Florida's airwaves.
