With the return of the classic Haunted Mansion later this month, Imagineering might have a new surprise for guests! A new bride may appear in the attic of the mansion. The queue for Pirates of the Caribbean frequently sprawls throughout New Orleans Square. MiceChat reports that Imagineers are working on a solution to this issue. A new set of entrance gates have been unveiled at Disneyland. This is a project that has been progressing through versions for the last year at Disney California Adventure. It appears the resort has landed on a system that will work for them. The new gates allow guests to scan their own tickets and take a photo if one is not on file, allowing entrance with a valid park ticket and reservation. A missing element has returned to the Jungle Cruise. The temple that the Bengal Tiger was housed in has been restored. The previous show scene was removed after the elements and time had taken it’s toll. Another update at Disneyland has happened at Pixie Hollow. The lagoon area has been under construction for months, with no clear explanation on what was being done. Now that the walls have come down, we know that a new fountain and water features were being installed. Little themed elements have returned to the area, and the painted blue lagoon looks refreshing and clean. Cast members who were working at the resort when Measure L was passed will be getting some back pay. Measure L is the Anaheim minimum wage law. With the expansion of Avengers Campus happening in 2025, the Red Car Trolley is closing. Disney announced that the last operating day for the attraction will be February 8th. One of the trolleys should be parked on Buena Vista Street to allow for photos during construction. Last week was Thanksgiving in the United States, and Walt Disney World and Disneyland helped those in need. In Anaheim, Disneyland teamed up with Northgate Gonzalez Markets to deliver groceries to 125 families, and $15,000 in holiday food vouchers to community nonprofits. The first part of the new queue was designed by Master Gracey, one of the mansion’s ghosts. Further along is Madame Leota’s garden. This holiday season is the first for the newly reimagined Pixar Place Hotel. There are multiple trees around the lobby, each themed to a different Disney/Pixar movie. The extended queue of the Haunted Mansion has finally debuted to guests! The new extended queue has a lot of details to look at and enjoy. The path winds through some gardens, Madame Leota’s enchanted garden, and past new crypts. The Main Street Train Station is finally out from behind scrims and looks great! With the Candlelight Processional happening soon, it needed to be complete for the setup that features that station as a stage and backdrop. The 2025 runDisney Half Marathon theme has been announced! For 2025, Villains are the focus of the races. The races will take place from September 4th through 7th, 2025. The construction at the Haunted Mansion extended queue, shop, and New Orleans Square station is getting closer to completion. The new Downtown Disney shops and restaurants have opening dates and some new details! Avengers Reserve, and D-Lander Shop will open on December 6th, with Disney Wonderful World of Sweets will open later this winter and serve Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn. Halloween just passed us by and this week, preparations are well underway to get the resort ready for the Holiday season that starts on November 15th. New Orleans Square and Toon Town have been decked in holiday decorations for a bit now, with Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Main Street starting to get decorations now. The Disney Parks Blog has some tips on how guests can prepare for experiencing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens to the general public on November 15th. There will not be a standby queue, only virtual queues at 7am and noon, Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Premiere Pass. Guests can join the virtual queue and use a Lightning Lane to get access to the attraction more than once in a single day. Details have been released about the Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Nighttime Gathering. The dining package for the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks in Galaxy’s Edge will include a spot in the standing room only viewing area, a meal including fried cheeseburger croquette bites, apricot goat cheese, dragon fruit yogurt, cream puffs, unlimited fountain beverages, and specialty non-alcoholic beverages in a souvenir novelty cup. Mickey and Minnie went trick or treating last week to deliver Halloween treats to kids in the hospital. Not much is left unopened in Bayou Country after Ray’s Berets opened this week. The rethemed shop is full of little touches to Ray’s friends and family. The first guests experienced Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Monday. Magic Key holder previews began and we got our first glimpse into what the Disneyland version of the attraction is like. Key holders needed to join a virtual queue to ride, but those that were successful were able to be among the first in the attraction. The Disneyland version is much better paced than the Magic Kingdom version, with a lot of animatronics and almost no slowdown of the story or show scenes. We have an explanation for the holidays creeping in on the Halloween festivities at Disneyland.
