As the march towards the launch of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary continues, the Disney Parks Blog posted an update for the celebration. The new “Walt Disney - A Magical Life” attraction has been delayed until the official birthday of July 17th. Also announced was a fairly major update to “it’s a small world.” Shortly before Richard Sherman, who, along with his brother Robert, wrote many songs and lyrics to classic Disney tunes, passed away last year, he wrote a new verse for the iconic song in the attraction. With the premiere of Captain America: Brave New World, new food, drink, and merchandise arrived in Avenger’s Campus. At Pym Test Kitchen, you can pick up a Red Gamma Gulp, which is a red velvet cold brew with cream cheese cold foam, or a Red Rage Wings, which are spicy wings tossed in habanero sauce and served with potato bites and ranch dressing. California firefighters, eligible Los Angeles-based law enforcement personnel, emergency medical technicians, and other mutual aid departments who helped with the LA fire effort can get a Hero Ticket to Disneyland. The Hero Ticket is valid from May 5th through August 7th, Mondays through Thursdays, and requires a theme park reservation. The ticket will allow the holder and one guest into the parks. A new, 45-minute mixology course is coming to an amazing location at the Disneyland Hotel. Trader Sam’s Mixology Seminar will teach guests how to make one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic drink from the Trader Sam’s bartenders. Classes start February 12th, with a second date on March 3rd, with sessions at 11am, 1pm, and 4pm. Hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and music will be on hand after the class, along with a tiki mug to take home. The first of two days of Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland kicked off this weekend at the Fantasyland Theater. The theater was dotted with displays showcasing the history of gospel music. Over in Disney California Adventure, Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street is behind scrim and scaffold, the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land is still working on the updates to the main office. Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond shop, which just opened last month had some flooding issues last week. The heavy rain flowed down the walkway to Bayou Country and right into the front door of the shop. A pop-up mini golf experience is coming to the Pixar Place Hotel. Pixar Putt, which was at the D23 Expo, and a season in Washington, D.C., and Long Beach, opens on February 7th at 3pm and will be at the hotel until June 1st. Tee times are every 30 minutes, with with discounts for hotel guests and Magic Keyholders. Prices range from $28-$33, plus a $2 per person service fee. One of the smaller places to pick up tasty treats has a new item on the menu. The Royal Street Veranda has added Baked Cheesy Biscuits, with an optional side of Cajun Cheese sauce. They are described as Cheeze-Its in biscuit form. The biscuits are made with sharp cheddar and cajun cheese, and are brushed with garlic butter. The sauce is not overly spicy and adds a sharper cheese flavor. Two new Concierge lounges will be coming to the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian. The High Key Club will open at the Disneyland Hotel, celebrating Disneyland in 1955. The overall aesthetic will be mid-century modern and will nearly double the previous club-level lounge in the Adventure Tower. A second club-level lounge will open at the Grand Californian. The new two-story space will celebrate the California Craftsman style and be located on the 5th and 6th floors overlooking the Great Hall lobby. Two new suites are coming to the Pixar Place Hotel. The new suites will feature two bedrooms. The Incredibles Suite will be a mid-century modern design with a “spy-fi” twist. A room designed by Edna Mode herself will be one of the spaces, along with a hand-scanning prop at the entryway, among other special effects. Two stores in Downtown Disney have finally opened! Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, which replaces Marceline’s Confectionary opened last week. The shop is spacious and offers many of the same items as Marceline’s. A new offering is the Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn. There is a nod to Marceline, MO in the train display in the window. Storyland Boutique, which is in the old Wonderground location, also opened offering a ever-changing theme. Two iconic engineers responsible for their work on the Matterhorn are being inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame posthumously. Karl Bacon, who passed away in 2008 at 98, and Ed Morgan, in 2009 at 93, worked for Arrow Development, the company Disney hired to work with them to create attractions for Disneyland. Karl and Ed came up with the idea of tubular steel tracks to make the attraction possible. The Spring dates for Dapper Days have been announced! In Disneyland, Dapper Days will be April 12th and 13th. April 13th is the day in Disneyland, with the 12th being the Dapper Day Expo at the Disneyland Hotel. Over at Walt Disney World, Dapper Days are April 26th and 27th, with park dates to be announced. It was just a matter of time before another Haunted Mansion collectible came out. For this release, the Bride from the Mansion is in the form of a sipper! It features Constance Hatchaway in a translucent plastic, holding a candelabra in one hand, and a bridal bouquet in the other. Her heart beats red in her chest, and has a black and gold shoulder strap. Guests visiting the resort before the 70th anniversary kicks off will have some returning entertainment to hold them over. Mickey’s Mix Magic is coming back starting January 7th. Haunted Mansion Holiday just closed to return it to the classic Haunted Manson, and yet and we already have the date in 2025 when the favorite will return! With the return of the classic Haunted Mansion later this month, Imagineering might have a new surprise for guests! A new bride may appear in the attic of the mansion. A sneak preview of this new bride may be seen in the Madame Leota shop as a portrait. The new bride is rumored to have a cutting-edge blend of classic and modern effects. The queue for Pirates of the Caribbean frequently sprawls throughout New Orleans Square. MiceChat reports that Imagineers are working on a solution to this issue. The solution could replace some classic areas like the Port Royal shop, Royal Street Veranda quick service window, and the small courtyard between the shops. With the start of a new year comes new merchandise for that year. For 2025, there is the Disney Play in the Park collection – Disneyland Version, which features fun activities for guests to enjoy while at Disneyland. A wide selection of items are in this collection. Disneyland 2025 Dated merchandise is also out. This year, the design is more colorful, with the 2025 being more of a solid color, in most of the apparel designs. One of the last parts of the Downtown Disney expansion is making great progress! The walls have come down around Parkside Market, which means that the location could open any day now! A construction project long in the works between Cars Land and Avengers Campus has finally wrapped up. A new guest seating area has been added across from Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters. The area was previously themed with desert plants. Something has returned to the Indiana Jones Adventure queue! The safety video with Sallah has returned to a more extended version with more theming than just the “use the seatbelts” section. ans of the Australian hit animated show Bluey have something big to celebrate! A Bluey movie is coming to theaters, which means that Bluey and her family will be at the resort. No firm timeline yet, but it is coming. Magic Keyholders have some perks coming up in 2025. From January 7th through January 13th, a souvenir pin giveaway, and Disney character PhotoPass event will be at Disneyland. These items will be available at the Starcade in Tomorrowland. Starting January 8th, a Magic Key Stitch popcorn bucket will be available that comes with $2 refills through February 19th. A new set of entrance gates have been unveiled at Disneyland. This is a project that has been progressing through versions for the last year at Disney California Adventure. It appears the resort has landed on a system that will work for them. The new gates allow guests to scan their own tickets and take a photo if one is not on file, allowing entrance with a valid park ticket and reservation. The new system should cut down on the amount of cast needed at the entrance to the parks and could result in faster entry for experienced guests. – Disneyland Update – Tiger Unleashed, Gate Update & Legal Fallout

A missing element has returned to the Jungle Cruise. The temple that the Bengal Tiger was housed in has been restored. The previous show scene was removed after the elements and time had taken it’s toll. Another update at Disneyland has happened at Pixie Hollow. The lagoon area has been under construction for months, with no clear explanation on what was being done. Now that the walls have come down, we know that a new fountain and water features were being installed. Little themed elements have returned to the area, and the painted blue lagoon looks refreshing and clean. Cast members who were working at the resort when Measure L was passed will be getting some back pay. Measure L is the Anaheim minimum wage law. The 70th Anniversary of Disneyland begins on May 16th and goes through Summer 2026. As part of this celebration, a new World of Color Happiness! show will debut, Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration, Paint the Night parade, and Wondrous Journeys fireworks will return. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is now easier to access for guests. As of December 10th, the virtual queue option has been discontinued and there is a standby queue. Last week we talked about the D-Lander store opening in Downtown Disney. This week, the new Avengers-themed shop, Avengers Reserve, opened. The new shop features a ton of Marvel characters inside and out. With the expansion of Avengers Campus happening in 2025, the Red Car Trolley is closing. Disney announced that the last operating day for the attraction will be February 8th. One of the trolleys should be parked on Buena Vista Street to allow for photos during construction. A new addition has been spotted on the new Madame Leota shop next to the Haunted Mansion. The sign for the shop “Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond” has a crystal ball and some spectral smoke. More sights and sounds are coming to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
