A few new lines of Disneyland 70th merchandise have been announced. One of the most interesting pieces of merchandise is the Key to Disneyland. This is a larger “key” that can be used to unlock the 9 lands of Disneyland to reveal a hidden keepsake pin inside the key. There are 9 pins possible. The lands can be unlocked in one visit, or over multiple visits as your progress is saved between visits. Even more has been announced for the 70th. Guests will be able to vote on the Disneyland app for one of the four emotions – Sadness, Anger, Disgust, or Envy – to have them featured in the World of Color Happiness show that night. A new tour called “A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour will be available. The tour is two hours and explore the history of Disneyland. Bookings start on April 24th. Some new interactions and effects are coming for MagicBand+ around the resort, and new PhotoPass magic. Last week when we talked about the new entertainment offerings coming to the resort, we did not mention start dates. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! starts on May 16th at the Disney Theatre in Hollywood Land, the Pixar Pals Playtime Party at the Fantasyland Theatre starts May 23rd, along with Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Blast in Tomorrowland. A piece of good and bad news was reported by The Garner Holt Foundation on Instagram. One of the Red Car Trolleys has been donated to the foundation to support their mission of helping students discover STEM and STEAM careers. A new show, debuting on May 16th, is coming to the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land called “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” which will feature Disney characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, coming this summer. The new entrance gates, which have been in place at some of the turnstiles, are now being tested in full force at the Downtown Disney Monorail entrance. Guests scan their park ticket, and if there is already a photo on file, are admitted to the park. Sometimes the outside world breaks into the walled entertainment garden that is the Disneyland Resort. On March 24th, a police chase ended in the Pixar Pals parking structure, causing the temporary closure of the structure. The stolen car was found abandoned, and police looked for the suspect or suspects. A new dining package is coming to Disneyland for the 70th. The Paint the Night dining package will be at the Plaza Inn on Main Street. The package is available from May 16th through August 21st from 1pm to 4pm daily. It is a lunch dining package, which is $55 per adult and $28 per child. The package includes lunch and a reserved seat for Paint the Night. Also at South by Southwest, Disney gave new details on the Avengers Campus updates at Disneyland. The large e-ticket Avengers Infinity Defense didn’t get much new information, but the Stark Flight Lab did! Robert Downey Jr., who plays Tony Stark and Iron Man, was present to talk about the upcoming attraction. The attraction will have guests in “gyro-kinetic pods” that will roll on a track before being attached to a giant robotic arm and taken through some high-speed maneuvers. The Disney Parks Blog posted a Guide to the 70th Anniversary at the Disneyland Resort, with some new details for the celebration. The celebration will run May 16th, 2025 through Summer of 2026. Updates to the previous information include a ew theme song called “Celebrate Happy.” The new “World of Color Happiness!” will explore “happy” through other emotions, hosted by Joy and other emotions from Inside Out and Inside Out 2. Over at “it’s a small world,” a new light, music, and projection show called “Tapestry of Happiness” will bring an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, memories, and moments in a style inspired by Disney Artist Mary Blair. It will feature the “Celebrate Happy” theme song, along with nods to other Disneyland tunes.

In addition to Paint the Night, which will perform in the evening, “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade” will appear along the parade route during the day. Railroad fans should be very happy about this story – the Disneyland Railroad Tour is returning. Starting March 21st, guests will be able to take this tour again, which is 90 minutes, and includes a ride inside the Lilly Belle. The Lilly Belle is the last train car from Disneyland’s opening day and was decorated by Lillian Disney herself. The tour also includes a treat, a tour of the roundhouse back stage, a meet and greet with a train engineer, and a special keepsake. The signaling building that caught fire back in 2022 at the New Orleans Square station has finally been removed. There are still walls up around the former location, but the building is gone. As the march towards the launch of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary continues, the Disney Parks Blog posted an update for the celebration. The new “Walt Disney - A Magical Life” attraction has been delayed until the official birthday of July 17th. Also announced was a fairly major update to “it’s a small world.” Shortly before Richard Sherman, who, along with his brother Robert, wrote many songs and lyrics to classic Disney tunes, passed away last year, he wrote a new verse for the iconic song in the attraction. At Pym Test Kitchen, you can pick up a Red Gamma Gulp, which is a red velvet cold brew with cream cheese cold foam, or a Red Rage Wings, which are spicy wings tossed in habanero sauce and served with potato bites and ranch dressing. At the Pym Tasting Lab, there is a Liberty Punch, a Litmus Lemonade with blue Hawaiian and topped with citrus meringue foam. At Schwarma Too, a pepperoni and cheese pizza pocket is available. California firefighters, eligible Los Angeles-based law enforcement personnel, emergency medical technicians, and other mutual aid departments who helped with the LA fire effort can get a Hero Ticket to Disneyland. The Hero Ticket is valid from May 5th through August 7th, Mondays through Thursdays, and requires a theme park reservation. The ticket will allow the holder and one guest into the parks. A new nightly projection show “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” will debut on March 28th, painting the spires of Galaxy’s Edge with images from the films of the Skywalker story. A new, 45-minute mixology course is coming to an amazing location at the Disneyland Hotel. Trader Sam’s Mixology Seminar will teach guests how to make one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic drink from the Trader Sam’s bartenders. Classes start February 12th, with a second date on March 3rd, with sessions at 11am, 1pm, and 4pm. Hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and music will be on hand after the class, along with a tiki mug to take home. One place at the resort is doing away with reservations! Starting March 17th, Droid Depot in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will no longer take reservations for the droid building experience. The updated Cozy Cone ordering area finally opened this last week. The area behind the office of the Cozy Cone Motel has been behind walls for months now. A new ordering area, featuring two desks, with two registers each, is setup to take orders for all the cones. The first of two days of Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland kicked off this weekend at the Fantasyland Theater. The theater was dotted with displays showcasing the history of gospel music. Chairs were adding in the area where seating had been removed for Pixar Fest so more guests could be accommodated, and bring guests closer to the performers. Over in Disney California Adventure, Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street is behind scrim and scaffold, the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land is still working on the updates to the main office. This coming weekend is the last chance to hop aboard the Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure. February 8th is the last day for the attraction which added a lot of kinetic movement and atmosphere to Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Boulevard. Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond shop, which just opened last month had some flooding issues last week. The heavy rain flowed down the walkway to Bayou Country and right into the front door of the shop. The resort already has plans for work to be done with the path in front of the shop to correct this issue. A pop-up mini golf experience is coming to the Pixar Place Hotel. Pixar Putt, which was at the D23 Expo, and a season in Washington, D.C., and Long Beach, opens on February 7th at 3pm and will be at the hotel until June 1st. Tee times are every 30 minutes, with with discounts for hotel guests and Magic Keyholders. Prices range from $28-$33, plus a $2 per person service fee. One of the smaller places to pick up tasty treats has a new item on the menu. The Royal Street Veranda has added Baked Cheesy Biscuits, with an optional side of Cajun Cheese sauce. They are described as Cheeze-Its in biscuit form. The biscuits are made with sharp cheddar and cajun cheese, and are brushed with garlic butter. The sauce is not overly spicy and adds a sharper cheese flavor.
