News:
Anyone who visited Disneyland on October 16th should be aware that a guest with Measles visited the park on that day. Symptoms of the virus may not show up for 21 days after exposure. If you were in the parks that day, you should contact your healthcare provider. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/24/news-possible-measles-exposure-for-starbucks-and-disneyland-park-guests/
News broke last week right after we posted the episode that Star Tours would be getting a new destinations based on the upcoming Rise of Skywalker movie, in theaters this December. The new destinations will be added to the attraction on December 20th, the premiere of the final installment of the Skywalker saga. – https://wdwnt.com/2019/10/confirmed-star-tours-the-adventures-continue-to-receive-the-rise-of-skywalker-scene-at-disneyland-disneys-hollywood-studios-disneyland-paris-and-tokyo-disney-resort-on-december-20th/
Disneyland is rumored to be continuing the popular Disneyland After Dark and BlogMickey.com posted the possible themes. There are three possible nights themed to 80s in Disneyland, PIXAR, and Villains at California Adventure. Last year, Disneyland hosted Sweethearts night and 90s night. Disney California Adventure hosted Heroes Assemble. – https://blogmickey.com/2019/10/rumor-three-disneyland-after-dark-themed-events-coming-to-disneyland-and-disney-california-adventure-in-2020/
As we reported on last week, the holidays are creeping in on Halloween. This week it’s a small world and New Orleans Square have started to sport winter holiday themed decorations. Lights are being installed on the facade of it’s a small world, and the Santa hat has been placed on the clock tower. New Orleans Square is all decked out in the Mardi Gras themed decorations. This next week should see the rest of the resort start to get decorations after Halloween Time concludes. – https://www.micechat.com/240684-disneyland-update-charging-more-turning-on-the-holidays/
Just as Halloween finishes up, even more holiday merchandise is appearing on shelves around the parks. One of the new additions are the Disney Holiday Crocs. The inside of the Crocs are lined with faux fur that is soft and warm, and there is also a wreath that lights up when you walk. The design features castles, trees, Mickey, Minnie, lights, and more. The new footwear is available for $54.99 at the Disney Showcase on Main Street. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/27/news-disney-holiday-crocs-have-been-spotted-and-theyre-adorable-we-dont-care-what-you-say/
We knew it was coming. The fuel rod kiosks around Disneyland will start charging for swaps starting on November 1st. To get a fresh battery pack will now cost $3 a swap, in addition to the initial purchase price of $30. This brings the service at Disneyland in line with other Fuel Rod kiosks located outside of the resort. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/26/news-fuelrod-price-increase-is-making-its-way-to-disneyland/
Starting November 3rd, a special sneak preview of Frozen 2 will be presented in the Hyperion Theatre before performances of Frozen – Live at the Hyperion. The sneak preview will include moments from the new film, debuting in theaters November 22nd. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/10/get-a-special-look-at-disneys-frozen-2-now-at-disney-parks/
It seems to have been forever since there has been a relatively clear path into Tomorrowland (in fact, even before we were there in August!), but it looks to be getting closer to completion. Forms for the sidewalk and planters have been put in place and are ready for concrete to be poured. It appears that Disney would like this completed before the Christmas season starts. – https://www.micechat.com/240684-disneyland-update-charging-more-turning-on-the-holidays/
One of the slowest moving projects at the resort has been the completion of the Adventureland sign. This week a few additional decorations were added to the structure, including masks that are being used to disguise the light fixtures. The lighting is also angled in such a way that the sign is slightly harder to read at night. There is plenty of room for more decorative touches. – https://www.micechat.com/240684-disneyland-update-charging-more-turning-on-the-holidays/
