Summer Zander fishing is a rare treat for us, we're usually getting salt on our lures in June but we had to fish this event for many reasons and not least to catch giant Zander in shallow water.....or so we thought!

Here we go. As promised, our latest DNA Versus episode is the inaugural edition of ‘Wrasse Pro’, fishing head-to-head against each other out on the boat. Big colourful Ballan Wrasse are the target and in a slight twist we weigh all captures to gain our total top five fishes combined weight, inline with what we've come to see in the US bass fishing tournaments. We've never put a Ballan on the scales at sea before so what does a 40cm Wrasse weigh? You're about to find out. This was a lot of fun to record so please sit back and place your bets. Welcome aboard. We're back, back ,back with a very late episode that covers our visit to the Big One show and more specifically the Lure Live section ran by Predator tackle. It was a nice gauge of where the lure scene is at in the UK and whilst it isn't yet shoulder barging the Carp guys into the long grass it's certainly holding its own. We're back, back, back! Having mostly recovered from jet lag, aggressive cold symptoms and single-handedly propping up the Japanese economy we offer some more truth nuggets from our trip to Japan which mainly consists of what we spent our money on and when buyers remorse kicks in.

To kick us off we have the legend that is George Cunningham easing us into episode 7 with the most epic of intros. Recorded in a busy Japanese bar, at a very late hour, after a few refreshing beers. Complete with background noise, it sets the standard in the very best way. For those that don't know, George is the head of Tronixpro and HTO, as well of a host of other well known brands, and his influence on the UK lure fishing scene has been remarkable. We love you big G!

As the title suggests we don't know how to say Ima, or IMA. Is it I.M.A or not? Hopefully our IMA correspondent will clarify. Anyway, we finally have a listener (question) to answer, and we almost reveal (by mistake) our most successful lure for catching BIG reservoir Perch.

This is the first of our pods telling the story of our recent trip to Osaka, Japan where we immersed ourselves into the JDM motherland. From the insane Osaka tackle show to the delicate Megabass showcase event and everything in between we hope it gives listeners a tiny insight into our adventures some 6000 miles from home.

We're back with some BIG news for Episode 5. In fact, the news is so BIG it demands a BIG intro as well. So, we are honoured to have our good friend and lure angling behemoth, Thom Hunt ease us into this podcast, where we reveal our upcoming travel plans. As well as what we haven't been catching recently and some of the things we are looking ahead to in 2024.

January and February can be a miserable time for the fisher-person and that can inevitably lead to spending our hard earned pennies on lures in an effort to get some kind of fishing dopamine hit. And boy, are we going for the biggest, grade-A hit of retail therapy available to anyone that enjoys Japanese fishing tackle!

Fished on the Kennet and Avon Canal in Hungerford, which holds a decent stock of both Perch and Pike. How will we each approach the venue with a randomly selected set of rules, and ultimately who will come out on top? Will it be former and current UK street fishing champion and Hungerford specialist Adam Kirby or will it be Bakery aficionado Dan Sissons? High jeopardy, fish aplenty, Jack pike and even a magic, canal 40cm Perch are all guaranteed.
