  • 3: Multipliers (with Liz Wiseman)

    THE GUEST

Liz Wiseman is a researcher and executive advisor who teaches leadership to top organizations worldwide. She wrote the New York Times bestsellers Multipliers, The Multiplier Effect, and Wall Street Journal bestsellers Rookie Smarts and Impact Players.

She is the CEO of the Wiseman Group, a leadership research and development firm headquartered in Silicon Valley. Some of her recent clients include Apple, AT&T, Disney, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Nike, Salesforce, Tesla, and X. Liz has received the top achievement award for leadership from Thinkers50. She has also been consistently named one of the world’s leading 50 management thinkers in its bi-annual ranking.

That is a long list of accolades, but I discovered Liz and her work when I read Multipliers, a book that had a profound impact on me and my business, it is the single best book in the world about leadership and management, and I can not recommend it highly enough. Through experience and research, Liz makes it clear just what makes an exceptional manager AND gives clear, actionable advice on how you can learn those traits.

Liz is an expert at leadership and team building.

  • 2: Mentor fail (with Corey Hiben)

    THE GUEST

Corey Hiben is the host of the Health Hustle podcast. In both his personal and business lives, Corey is the king of consistency; whether it's posting on LinkedIn every day for years or exercising for 1400 days in a row, he doesn't half do anything. Outside of the podcasting world, Corey built and runs the Andro Bands agency, which helps health & fitness professionals build their own businesses. Lastly, Corey runs the biggest health meetup in Austin, bringing 100 health entrepreneurs together every month.

Corey is an expert at marketing, podcasting, building communities, and building businesses from the ground up.

    THE QUESTIONS

[03:19] Mentor fail: A founder feels alone and struggles to build a community or find a mentor.
[17:25] Startups make me feel like a failure: An early employee misses a big deadline and doesn’t know how to face their boss.
[26:49] How to manage a project as a first-time founder? An inexperienced founder doesn’t know how to lead an experienced team.

  • 1: Bad ideas (with Kyle Brastrom & Greg Sarafian)

    The guests

Kyle Brastrom and Greg Sarafian are the co-founders & founding designer of dive.chat, a really cool spin on an events platform that is built on the top of chat. I think dive.chat is a cool product, but their design and UX is out of this world.

Kyle and Greg are experts at building really beautiful products and they deeply understand startup challenges in the consumer world.

    The questions

[5:29] Taking the plunge: A young founder contemplates quitting their 9 to 5 and going all in on their idea.

[21:32] Bad design or bad idea: Is a startup's lack of traction because of bad UX or is it a fundamentally bad idea?

[39:46] UX designer turned UX destroyer: A once great UX designer struggles with their confidence after non-stop UX mistakes.
