Young minds can be formed by good, solid, Christian discipleship—or they can be formed by hundreds of fictional novels cranked off the presses . . . books that teach kids about the glories of death and the isolation of existentialist man. The books that receive accolades and awards feature witches, vampires, serial killers, abandonment, and death. Cain has a little production company east of Eden, and now the kids have become the target market.
