Chinese Communists install their own religious leaders
The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom released a report on China last week.
The country continues its policy of subordinating all religious groups to the Chinese Communist Party. The party installs its own religious leaders and requires religious teachings to align with its agenda. However, many Christians choose to operate illegally in underground churches.
The report noted, “Independent house church Protestants face . . . repression for not joining [state-controlled religious organizations], with the government detaining, arresting, and incarcerating independent Protestant leaders and laypersons.”
Thailand legalizes faux homosexual marriage
Last week, Thailand became the first southeast Asian country to legalize faux homosexual marriage.
The country’s king gave royal assent to the law which was passed by parliament in June. The measure goes into effect next January.
The law also gives adoption and inheritance rights to same-sex couples. Thailand is the third country in Asia to pass such a law behind Taiwan and Nepal and the 30th in the world.
Vance confronted Tim Walz over support of infanticide
In the U.S., as we reported yesterday, CBS hosted a Vice Presidential debate on Tuesday between Republican VP nominee J.D. Vance and Democrat VP nominee Tim Walz.
Senator Vance from Ohio called out Governor Walz of Minnesota for his support of infanticide during the debate.
Listen.
VANCE: “As I read the Minnesota law, the statute that you signed into law, it says that a doctor who presides over an abortion where the baby survives, the doctor is under no obligation to provide life-saving care to a baby who survives a botched, late-term abortion."
WALZ; “That is not true.” (unintelligible)
VANCE: “Whether you are pro-choice or pro-abortion, that is, I think, fundamentally barbaric. And that's why I use that word, Norah [O’Donnoell], because do you want to force Catholic hospitals to perform abortions against their will? Because Kamala Harris has supported suing Catholic nuns to violate their freedom of conscience. We can be a big and diverse country where we respect people's freedom of conscience and make the country more pro-baby and pro-family."
Wisdom says in Proverbs 8:35-36, “For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD; but he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all those who hate me love death.”
Court: School ordered to pay $575,000 over forced inaccurate pronouns
A public school district in Virginia agreed to a $575,000 settlement with a Christian teacher on Monday.
Alliance Defending Freedom represented Peter Vlaming in his case against the West Point School Board. In 2018, the school fired him for refusing to use the biologically incorrect pronouns of a transgender student.
The Virginia Supreme Court sided with Vlaming last December. After the recent settlement, Tyson Langhofer, Senior Counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom said, “We’re pleased to favorably settle this case on behalf of Peter and hope other government and school officials will take note of the high cost involved in failing to respect an American’s constitutionally protected freedoms.”
Most Evangelicals do not promote Biblical perspective in culture
The Institute for Faith and Culture released a new report on Evangelical engagement with culture.
The report found most evangelicals read the Bible and go to church weekly. Most say the Bible is relevant today. And most also say they want to promote the Bible’s perspective even if it’s not popular. However, only a minority of evangelicals actually do so.
Robert Pacienza with the Institute for Faith and Culture said, “For decades there has been a dearth of prophetic Christian voices in our culture. The North American church exists in a time when biblical literacy is at an all-time low. Without an understanding of Scripture, Christians cannot faithfully engage the culture with a biblical worldview.”
Psalm 119:104-105 says, “I gain understanding from [the Lord’s] precepts; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”
19 states saw increases in homeschooling
And finally, the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy released a report on homeschooling recently.
The report covered data from 21 states for the 2023-2024 school year.
Only two states saw a decline in homeschooling—New Hampshire and Vermont. The other 19 states saw increases.
Some states experienced consistent growth in homeschooling over the years like Louisiana, South Carolina, and South Dakota. Others saw big growth over the previous year. Homeschooling grew 24% in North Dakota, 29% in Delaware, and 67% in Rhode Island.

The more gov’t corruption, the more persecution of Christians
International Christian Concern released a report on the connection between government corruption and persecution.
The report notes that countries with significant abuse of public power for private gain are also countries with high levels of persecution for Christians.
Countries like Afghanistan, China, India, Iran, Nigeria, and North Korea.
The report referenced multiple studies that “highlight how corruption within governmental, legal, and societal institutions can exacerbate religious persecution, leading to discrimination, violence, and marginalization of religious minorities.”
Iran launched missiles against Israel
Speaking of Iran, the country launched dozens of missiles into Israel on Tuesday. There were no immediate reports on any casualties or damage caused by the strike.
The attack comes less than a week after Israeli airstrikes killed the leader of Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed terrorist group in Lebanon. Israel has also started ground operations against Hezbollah this week.
The U.S. stood by Israel, promising severe consequences for Iranian missile attacks on Israel.
J.D. Vance beat Tim Walz in Vice Presidential debate
Referring to last night’s CBS Vice Presidential debate in New York City between the Republican VP nominee J.D. Vance, an Ohio Senator, and the Democratic VP nominee, Tim Walz, the Minnesota Governor, radio talk show host Erick Erickson sent an email with the subject line: “Even the Democrats Know Vance Won.”
He wrote, “JD Vance just turned in the very best performance of a national candidate in decades on a debate stage. He handled himself extremely well.”
Vance: Kamala ensured border crisis by dismantling Trump policy
When asked about immigration, this was Vance’s answer.
VANCE: “We have a historic immigration crisis because Kamala Harris started and said that she wanted to undo all of Donald Trump's border policies, 94 executive orders, suspending deportations, decriminalizing illegal aliens, massively increasing the asylum fraud that exists in our system. That has opened the floodgates, and what it's meant is that a lot of fentanyl is coming into our country.
“I had a mother who struggled with opioid addiction and has gotten clean. I don't want people who are struggling with addiction to be deprived of their second chance because Kamala Harris let in fentanyl into our communities at record levels. So, you've got to stop the bleeding. You've got to reimplement Donald Trump's border policies, build the wall, reimplement deportations.”
Walz lied about being in Hong Kong during Tiananmen Square massacre
Talk show host Erick Erickson said Governor Walz did not hold up and opened himself up to more attacks for lying about being in Hong Kong during the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
Indeed, listen to his inability to answer a straight question from CBS News moderator Margaret Brennan, reports the National Review.
BRENNAN: “Governor Walz, you said you were in Hong Kong during the deadly Tiananmen Square protests in the spring of 1989, but Minnesota Public Radio and other media outlets are reporting that you actually didn't travel to Asia until August of that year. Can you explain that discrepancy?”
WALZ: “To the folks out there who didn’t get at the top of this: Look, I grew up in small, rural Nebraska, town of 400, town that you rode your bike with your buddies till the street lights come on. And I'm proud of that service. I joined the National Guard at 17, worked on family farms, and then I used the GI Bill to become a teacher, passionate about it, a young teacher. My first year out, I got the opportunity in the summer of ‘89 to travel to China, 35 years ago be able to do that.
“I came back home and then started a program to take young people there. We would take basketball teams. We would take baseball teams. We would take dancers, and we would go back and forth to China. The issue for that was, was to try and learn. Now, look, my community knows who I am. They saw where I was at. Look, I will be the first to tell you, I have poured my heart into my community.
“I've tried to do the best I can, but I've not been perfect, and I'm a knucklehead at times, but it's always been about that. Those same people elected me to Congress for 12 years, and in Congress, I was one of the most bipartisan people. Many times, I will talk a lot. I will get caught up in the rhetoric, but being there, the impact. It made the difference. It made my life. I learned a lot about China. I hear the critiques of this.”
BRENNAN: “Governor, just to follow up on that: The question was, ‘can you explain the discrepancy?’”
WALZ: “All I said on this was as I got there that summer and misspoke on this. So, I will just, that's what I've said. So, I was in Hong Kong and China during the democracy protests went in, and from that, I learned a lot of what needed to be in governance.”
All that to say, Walz was in the United States, not Hong Kong, during the Tiananmen Square massacre, reports Reuters.
Hurricane Helene claims 140 lives; Nearly 2 million without power
Rainstorms followed by Hurricane Helene dumped over 40 trillion gallons of water across the Southeast U.S. over the last week.
The storm has caused at least 140 deaths across six states. Hundreds of people are still missing, and over 1.7 million homes and businesses are without power.
North Carolina faced some of the worst flooding. Among the damage there was Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, the host of many Christian retreats over the years.
Christian groups like Samaritan's Purse have been providing supplies and aid in the region.
On Monday, Former President Donald Trump visited hurricane-ravaged Georgia alongside Franklin Graham, the founder of Samaritan’s Purse. Listen to Graham’s comments.
GRAHAM: “This building behind us represents hundreds of thousands of people that have lost homes, businesses, friends, loved ones. And it's going to take an army of volunteers and people to respond. And, of course, at Samaritan's Purse, we want to respond, always in Jesus' name.”
In Mark 9:41, Jesus said, “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
Georgia’s Heartbeat law declared unconstitutional
In other Georgia news, a state judge ruled on Monday that Georgia’s heartbeat law is unconstitutional. The ruling came despite the Georgia Supreme Court upholding the law last year.
Georgia’s 2019 Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act effectively banned abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. The latest ruling would allow abortions up to 20 weeks.
Chris Carr, the state’s Republican Attorney General, announced he will appeal the ruling. He said, “We believe Georgia’s life act is fully constitutional.”
Kris Kristofferson died
Kris Kristofferson died Saturday at 88 years of age.
Haunted through his lifetime by the Christian faith, the singer songwriter of "Why Me Lord?" and "Sunday Morning Coming Down" was known for his contemplative lyrics.
KRISTOFFERSON: “Lord, help me, Jesus, I've wasted it. So, help me, Jesus. I know what I am. Now that I know that I needed You so, help me, Jesus. My soul's in Your hand.”
Alex Kendrick chats with Adam McManus
And finally, today, as I guest host for Kevin Swanson on Generations Radio, I chat with Alex Kendrick who co-wrote and directed the Christian film called The Forge. It highlights the power of Christian discipleship.
KENDRICK: “We wrote this script about a young 19-year-old who has graduated high school, trying to figure out what direction he goes in life. His father's abandoned him, but he does have a praying mother, and she's asking God to send someone into his life that can call him to faith in You and help mentor him as he steps into manhood.
“We watch the path of young Isaiah, the 19-year-old, go on the ups and downs of stepping into manhood, embracing responsibility, and growing in his faith. By the end of the film, we hope that people say, ‘I want that to happen to me’ or perhaps one of your children.”
Take a listen to my conversation with Christian filmmaker Alex Kendrick at Generations.org/radio. That’s Generations.org/radio.
The Forge is still in 700 theaters. So, make plans to see it this week if you haven’t already done so. To find a theater near you, go to TheForgeMovie.com.
My family laughed and cried. And we were inspired to be better disciples of Christ and to help fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples.

South African homeschoolers face jail if kids not in school
Last week, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the controversial Basic Education Law Amendments Bill into law in an effort to federalize and centralize control over the nation’s education program.
The law would levy a year-long prison sentence for truancy, ban all corporal punishment, and require parents to apply to the National Department of Education for permission to homeschool their children or face charges.
Christian View Network has been warning for years that the bill is a radical threat to parental rights.
Estimates put the number of homeschooled children in South Africa as high as 300,000, reports the South African Broadcast Corporation.
An organization dedicated to protecting parental rights in South Africa, The Pestalozzi Trust, has informed the president they will be appealing the Act to the nation’s high court. The Trust argues that “the Act imposes excessive regulatory burdens on parents who opt for homeschooling.”
Austrian Freedom Party gaining ground
The right-leaning, Freedom Party of Austria gained more votes than any other party in the elections held over the weekend — now holding 29% of the seats in parliament.
However, the Socialist Party, the left-leaning People’s Party, the Greens, and the Communists together hold 67% of the seats.
Germany and France witness political gains on the right
And, in July, the French elections expanded the rightist party by 50% at the expense of the center.
Hurricane Helene’s death toll climbs to 116
Hurricane Helene has come and gone, and left a mass of destruction in its path.
Ryan Cole, a North Carolina county emergency official, told The Independent Mail, “We have biblical devastation through the county. This is the most significant natural disaster that any one of us has ever seen.”
The death count has topped 116 thus far. There are still 600 people missing in North Carolina. Officials count 46 fatalities in North Carolina, 27 deaths in South Carolina, 25 deaths in Georgia, and 13 in Florida. This makes for the second most deadly hurricane in the last 12 years.
Could Amish save Western Civilization from Kamala?
Could the Amish save Western civilization from Kamala Harris and the socialists?
That’s what Scott Pressler from Early Vote Action thinks. Scott pointed out on X social media platform that “there are 90,000 Amish voters in Pennsylvania, and the last presidential election was decide by 80,000 votes.”
2 pro-lifers get long prison sentences for peaceful civil disobedience
A federal judge sentenced three more pro-lifers for participating in a protest at an abortion clinic in Tennessee on March 5, 2021, reports World Magazine.
Chester Gallagher, the leader of the pro-life rescue, received a harsh sentence of 16 months. Heather Idoni was sent to prison for 8 months. And another pro-lifer received a 3-month probation sentence.
Four others -- Paul Vaughan, Calvin Zastrow, Coleman Boyd, and Dennis Green -- had already received sentences back in July.
Attorney Steve Crampton with The Thomas More Society argued that the protest was “a peaceful demonstration by entirely peaceable citizens—filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship—oriented toward persuading expectant mothers not to abort their babies.”
Calgary Pastor vs. Drag Queens
Today, as I guest host for Kevin Swanson on Generations Radio, I interview a gutsy Canadian pastor named Derek Reimer in Calgary, Alberta. He dared to speak the truth at a Drag Queen Story Hour event at the library.
Listen.
McMANUS: “When you heard about these drag queen events where men dress up as women, really caricatures of women, with ridiculously heavy makeup, big wigs, crazy attire, long false eyelashes, and five-inch tall heels, what was your reaction when you heard that it was coming to your town, to your library?”
REIMER: “That this was disgusting. It was vile. It was appalling, repugnant. I don't even have enough adjectives to describe it.
“So, it's like this righteous indignation that rises up in protection of these little ones. Because when I went to drag events, there was a sign up, ‘Reading with Royalty,’ ages zero to eight years old. That's disgusting, how they want to indoctrinate, sexualize and corrupt these little children.”
Not only was Pastor Reimer arrested that time, but two additional times and spent 43 days in jail for simply objecting to drag queens in the library.
To hear my whole 39-minute conversation, go to Generations.org/radio. That’s Generations.org/radio.
And finally, Bullhead City, Arizona is looking at putting a grandmother in jail.
A U.S. district court ruled that Norma Thornton is guilty of providing food to the poor in a city park. She was arrested in July 2022, and faces a fine of up to $1,431, 120 days in jail, and 24 months of probation.
The city ordinance forbids any “food-sharing event” at a public park.

150 Protestants return to Hidalgo State, Mexico after displacement
On April 26th, Mexican Catholic village leaders in Hidalgo State cut the electricity, vandalized a Protestant church, and blocked access to homes of the Protestant minority, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
As a result, over 150 Protestant Christians, including 70 children and infants, were forcibly displaced.
During their displacement, the group endured poor conditions, living in a municipal building and later a sports complex. They relied on local churches for food and river water for hygiene, leading to widespread illness and infections.
Now, five months later, thanks to an agreement brokered by Hidalgo State Secretary Guillermo Reyna and Director of Religious Affairs Margarita Román, they have returned to their homes in Hidalgo State, Mexico.
In 1 Corinthians 1:10, the Apostle Paul wrote, “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
Pray that the Evangelicals would forgive the Catholics and the Catholics would repent for their abuse of the Evangelicals.
Hurricane Helene kills 89 people, causes $15 billion of damage
On Saturday, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said Hurricane Helene’s “monumental storm surge” caused far greater damage than last year’s Hurricane Idalia, reports The Epoch Times.
DeSANTIS: “We saw really a monumental storm surge. You saw storm surge in excess of 15 feet. So that is much, much more significant than what we've seen in recent storms like [Hurricane] Idalia that hit and certainly [Hurricane] Debby.
“So, as you look around here, you see some homes that are now just rubble. There's a lot of damage. We flew over the entire coast, and I remember doing that after I Dahlia, and I remember seeing damage, and I walked the streets after I Dahlia in some of these areas, but this one, wow, you see some just complete obliteration for homes.”
Damage estimates ranged from $15 billion to more than $100 billion, insurers and forecasters said over the weekend.
Tragically, Reuters reports that 89 people have been killed in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. South Carolina recorded the highest death toll, reporting 25 fatalities, with falling trees contributing to many of them.
South Carolina Republican Governor Henry McMaster spoke to reporters.
McMASTER: “We, of course, have suffered a devastating storm. Tragically, we've lost, we believe, 25 people, 25 of our people due to this storm, and we don't want to lose any more.
“Be careful of the electrical wires running under downed trees and limbs. Don't go out there if there's any chance that there's any sort of wire running under those that debris, because you can get shocked and die. The chainsaws cannot go in until the electricity is turned off by the power company.”
According to a U.S. Energy Department official, roughly 2.7 million customers were without power on Sunday, down 40% from Friday after unprecedented storm surges, ferocious winds and perilous conditions that extended hundreds of miles inland.
Samaritan’s Purse, led by Franklin Graham, is on the ground helping in Jesus’ name. You can sign up to be notified to be a volunteer and you can make a donation to help Americans hit by Hurricane Helene through special links in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.
Patients and staff of Tennessee hospital evacuated from roof
More than 50 patients and staff were rescued from the roof of a Tennessee hospital after floodwaters inundated the building.
The Tennessee National Guard was part of the rescue effort Friday afternoon at Unicoi County Hospital in eastern Tennessee. The region was submerged in floodwaters from Hurricane Helene.
Emergency crews had attempted to evacuate people by ambulance and boats, but the water began rising too quickly, as video revealed. They had no other choice but to seek shelter on the rooftop.
Clay Ramsey tweeted four devastating pictures showing the flood waters had reached the half-way mark of the ambulances in the hospital parking lot.
Faith & Freedom Coalition to raise $62M to mobilize Christian vote
Faith and Freedom Coalition aims to raise over $60 million to mobilize the Christian vote ahead of the 2024 presidential election, with canvassers already reaching over 3 million potential voters in battleground states, reports The Christian Post.
Founded in 2009 by longtime Christian activist Ralph Reed to be a voice and mobilize the Evangelical vote, their goal is visiting 10 million homes in person by Election Day. The expected 10 million home visits marks a rise from the 8.6 million conducted in 2022 and the nearly 6 million in 2020.
The home visits have the potential to reach 17 to 18 million people, as some households have multiple voters living in them which could put Trump back in the White House.
Faith and Freedom Coalition has hired 5,000 paid staffers and recruited 5,000 volunteers to conduct outreach in the battleground states.
Plus, the group will hand out “30 million pieces of literature across 125,000 churches, including many in the battleground states."
According to their website, “The key to the 2024 effort is turning out 1 million recently registered Evangelical voters, as well as 7.8 million Evangelicals whom Faith & Freedom Coalition has identified as low-propensity voters."
90-year-old Chuck Swindoll retires from pulpit ministry
And finally, a milestone for Chuck Swindoll.
He is known worldwide for his Insight for Living radio program heard on 2,100 stations, his leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary where he served as President and Chancellor, and his authorship of 70 books.
After 26 years as Senior Pastor at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas, he recently announced his retirement with his characteristic sense of humor.
SWINDOLL: “We celebrate 26 years as a church toward the middle of next month, literally, on the 14th of October, 1998. I mean 26 years, 90 years old. That's long enough.”
He spoke with grace and humility.
SWINDOLL: “Today, I'm filled with gratitude, joy and a deep sense of peace. These have been 26 of the greatest years of my life. You, as a congregation, have been nothing short of magnificent.”
And Pastor Swindoll pointed out what he looks forward to in his retirement from preaching.
SWINDOLL: “God has made it clear to me that these five Sundays will be my final five Sundays as your pastor, your leader, your pulpit expositor. Cynthia and I will continue to be with you at church. This is our church, and always will be. We live only a few blocks away, and we have no plans to move.
“The difference is, for the first time in over 60 years, she and I'll get to sit together in a worship service. She won't be sitting down there, and I'll be up here.”
Even though Swindoll, age 90, will no longer be in the pulpit regularly, he will continue his ministry at Insight for Living, the headquarters of which is located on the same property.
When he finally sees his Savior face to face, no doubt Chuck Swindoll will hear the words from Matthew 25:23, “Well done, good and faithful servant! … Enter into the joy of your Lord!”

Small but committed church in Syria
Although the Syrian Civil War has faded from the headlines after 13 years, the conflict continues — and a smaller yet more committed church remains, reports International Christian Concern.
A United Nations commission recently stated that the war is intensifying as war crimes and fears of a larger regional conflict mount.
Although the Christian population in Syria has dwindled, those who remain are insistent on seeing God’s kingdom advance in their homeland. At the start of the conflict, Syria was solidly 8% Christian. Today, only 2% remain.
A Christian in Syria recently told a publication called Le Monde, “The older generation has died out, and the younger ones have rebuilt their lives elsewhere. Most of them have sold their homes.” The count of Christians affiliated with established denominations in Syria has dropped from approximately 2.5 million before the civil war to about 500,000 in 2023.
In Matthew 13:31, Jesus talked about how even the small faith of a few people could be transformed, in God’s economy, into something spectacular. “The kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
Hurricane Helene slams Florida with 140 mph winds
At 11:10 p.m. Eastern last night, the eye of Hurricane Helene made landfall southwest of Perry, Florida along the Gulf Coast, as a dangerous Category 4 storm with 140-mph winds, reports AccuWeather.
The risk to lives and property will remain extreme as Helene plows inland with hurricane-force winds sparking widespread power outages into Georgia that can last for an extended period of time.
Additionally, Helene could cause a flooding disaster as it unloads more than a foot of rain in the mountains of North Carolina, South Carolina, and northern Georgia. AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jonathan Porter warned, “Some communities may be cut off with no way to enter or exit for days if there is damage to infrastructure such as bridges and roadways.”
In partnership with local churches, Samaritan’s Purse will need volunteers to help homeowners in Jesus’ Name. You can sign up to be notified to be a volunteer and you can make a donation to help Floridians hit by Hurricane Helene through special links in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.
Lila Rose to Trump: “Stand for life”
Leading pro-life activist Lila Rose is not backing down in the face of intense condemnation for criticizing Donald Trump’s retreat from his former pro-life position, reports LifeSiteNews.com.
She reiterated that her purpose is not to depress pro-life voter turnout, but to encourage Trump to change course.
Rose is founder and leader of the pro-life group Live Action which produces original investigations into the abortion industry, educational resources on prenatal development, and daily pro-life news and commentary. Since Trump began opposing further federal action on abortion last year and criticizing state pro-life laws, Rose has been one of his sharpest critics among national pro-life leaders.
In an August 27th podcast, Rose recalled the “electricity” of Trump addressing the 2020 March for Life as president. Here is what inspired her at the time.
TRUMP: “It is my profound honor to be the first president in history to attend the March for Life. (cheers) We're here for a very simple reason, to defend the right of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given potential. (cheers)
“For 47 years, Americans of all backgrounds have traveled from across the country to stand for life. And today, as President of the United States, I am truly proud to stand with you! (cheers)
“All of us here today understand an eternal truth: Every child is a precious and sacred gift from God. (cheers) Together, we must protect, cherish, and defend the dignity and the sanctity of every human life. (cheers) When we see the image of a baby in the womb, we glimpse the majesty of God's creation.”
Lila Rose said President Trump spoke clearly in 2020 about how the preborn “cannot speak for themselves” and even asked Congress to send him a late-term abortion ban to sign.
TRUMP: “To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother's womb.” (cheers)
In her August 27th podcast, she urged him to return to that same conviction.
ROSE: “President Trump, stand for life. President Trump, if you want the pro-life vote, fight for life. The pro-life vote is not owned. The pro-life vote is earned. And you don't earn the pro-life vote by throwing it under the bus, by listening to whatever pollsters are lying to you and throwing the babies under the bus.
“You earn the pro-life vote, and I would say the respect even of the middle moderates, by getting up there and saying, ‘I'm going to fight for what I believe in, for what is good and true. I'm going to fight for the lives of children.
“So, what President Trump should say specifically is what he's said in the past: ‘I will fight for life. I will fight for babies. They have no one to defend themselves. They have no one to speak for them. I will help speak for them.’
“That he will sign any pro-life legislation that crosses his desk as president, including the pro-life legislation that he used to ask Congress for back in the day. And he should say that he will fight against the abortion expansion of the Democrats. He will fight against the abortion industry that is hell bent on killing and taking innocent human life.”
New York City Mayor Eric Adams indicted for bribes
And finally, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted for taking bribes — including $123,000 in free flights and other ritzy perks — from foreign nationals in exchange for favors, reports the New York Post.
The historic five-count indictment — the first against a sitting New York City mayor — details an alleged decade-long pattern of corruption by Adams that includes fraudulently obtaining $10 million in public campaign funds.
The revelations came after the mayor was indicted by a grand jury on conspiracy, wire fraud, and bribery charges amid the long-running federal probe.
In the sprawling indictment, prosecutors laid bare an alleged scheme that helped Adams underwrite his 2021 mayoral campaign while showering him with free hotel rooms, flights on Turkey’s national airline, and meals at high-end restaurants.
In exchange, the indictment charges that Adams allegedly pressured Big Apple officials to waive inspections and push through approval for the Turkish Consulate in Manhattan.
In response, Mayor Adams made this comment at a press conference.
ADAMS: “It's an unfortunate day and it's a painful day. It's a day where we will finally reveal why for ten months I have gone through this. I look forward to defending myself.”
Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “I do not see how Mayor Adams can continue governing New York City. The flood of resignations and vacancies are threatening government function. Nonstop investigations will make it impossible to recruit and retain a qualified administration. For the good of the city, he should resign."
1 Thessalonians 5:22 says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil."

Russian soldiers destroyed 630 Ukrainian churches
A report from Mission Eurasia and the Institute for Religious Freedom of Ukraine documents the destruction of churches in Ukraine since Russia invaded the country in 2022.
The report found the war has destroyed at least 630 places of worship as of the end of last year. Over 200 of those were Evangelical properties. Russian attacks were responsible for most of the destruction.
Russian soldiers also raided and shut down church services. The government claims that minority groups, like Evangelicals, can fall under the category of extremist activities.
Ukrainian Pastor Sergey Nakul of Kyiv’s Grace Reform Church has a simple and courageous message for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Listen.
NAKUL: “Vladimir, repent! Repent of all of your evil deeds because you're not God.”
Daniel 11:36 says, “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place.”
Russian to ban adoptions for people from transgender-affirming countries
Speaking of Russia, the country is considering a ban on adoptions to countries that support transgenderism.
Russia’s lower parliament overwhelming supported the ban yesterday.
The measure applies to countries that allow so-called sex-change surgeries or for people to change their sex on official documents.
Lawmakers said they want to preserve Russia’s “traditional values.” They also want to protect Russian children from being adopted into western NATO countries where transgenderism is accepted.
8,000 Germans march for life
Last Saturday, nearly 8,000 people gathered in German cities to support life.
The National Association for the Right to Live organized the event.
Germany currently allows abortion up to 12 weeks of pregnancy, and the government’s leftist coalition is pushing to relax abortion laws.
Alexandra Linder, the President of Right to Live, said, “People have a sense of injustice. That’s why they keep a very close eye on how politicians deal with people in threatening situations at the beginning and end of life. And they have shown what they expect from politicians with two large, life-affirming demonstrations.”
Hurricane Helene hits Florida tonight
In the United States, Floridians are bracing for Hurricane Helene to roar ashore today in Florida's Gulf Coast, likely in the Big Bend region, as a Category 3 storm, reports AccuWeather.
Hurricane Helene is still amassing strength over the Gulf of Mexico, and is moving northeast toward Florida with maximum sustained winds of 85 miles per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Court: Biden Administration must pay $200,000 settlement in religious liberty case
The Biden administration agreed to a $210,000 settlement in a religious freedom case.
With the help of Alliance Defending Freedom, the Christian Employers Alliance sued the administration for violating their religious beliefs.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission wanted to force religious employers to provide health insurance coverage for transgender surgeries, procedures, and counseling.
After the favorable court ruling, Shannon Royce, President of the Christian Employers Alliance said, “We are overjoyed our members will not have to choose between the Biblically-based employee benefits and quality healthcare they provide, and the threat of federal enforcement and massive costs for practicing their faith.”
Utah, Tennessee, Idaho and South Carolina ban indecent books
The Utah State Board of Education released its first list of banned books last month.
The state’s Republican Governor Spencer Cox signed a bill back in March requiring public schools to remove a book if enough school districts found it contained indecent material.
PARENT: “The parents of this nation have been awakened to what is going on in the public school system, and we're not backing down.”
Tennessee, Idaho, and South Carolina have made similar moves to ban indecent material from public schools.
In Luke 17:1-2, Jesus said, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”
GenZ less likely to read the Bible
The American Bible Society released the latest chapter of its State of the Bible USA 2024 report about Gen Z.
The group includes people aged 18 to 27. Members of Gen Z are less likely than older generations to interact regularly with the Bible. They are also more likely to struggle with fear and anxiety. However, Gen Zers who engage with Scripture do better.
Only 11% of Gen Z is Scripture engaged, but those who are have much lower levels of anxiety even compared to older generations.
1 Peter 5:6-7 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
Bill of Rights anniversary
And finally, this week is the anniversary of the U.S. Bill of Rights.
Congress approved articles of amendment to the U.S. Constitution on September 25, 1789.
After approval by the states, the articles would become the first ten amendments to the Constitution.
The First Amendment famously protects freedom of religion and freedom of speech. The Second Amendment protects the individual right to keep and bear arms. The amendments drew from English law to protect the rights of citizens and limit the power of government.

Christian suffering in Gaza
Christians continue to suffer in the Gaza Strip during the Israel-Hamas War.
International Christian Concern reports there are an estimated 900 Christians in the territory. They have faced the hardship of war with death and devastation all around them. Beyond that, Christians there who have converted from Islam face persecution if their new faith is discovered.
Many Christians have sought refuge in church buildings during the conflict only to have them bombed. And believers who leave for countries like Egypt and Israel face the challenges of starting a new life.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Gaza.
Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”
Scottish abortion mill buffer zones
Buffer zones around abortion mills went into effect in Scotland yesterday.
The new legislation bans praying and offering help to women outside abortion mills. Violations carry fines of up to £10,000 -- the equivalent of over $13,000.
Humza Yousef, a member of the Scottish Parliament, loves the idea of criminalizing free speech outside Scottish abortion mills.
YOUSEF: “You want to protest anywhere you should be protesting outside of the Scottish Parliament or wherever else. But where women are going to get an abortion, it can be one of the most traumatic days of their lives. They don't need to be faced with that type of protest.”
Lois McLatchie of Alliance Defending Freedom U.K. was incredulous about the parliament’s proposal to prohibit compassionate Christians from offering a woman help and hope before she hires an abortionist to kill her unborn baby.
McLATCHIE: “We want to make sure that we're keeping a free and open society and making sure that these buffer zones don't go so as far and be so disproportionate as to take out perfectly legal and good activities like prayer and charitable offers of help. Let women help, let volunteers help, and keep those choices open for women.”
The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children is protesting the buffer zones. John Deighan, the CEO of the pro-life group, said, “As well as outlawing compassion, buffer zones set a terrible precedent, breaching fundamental rights to free speech and freedom of religion. … Buffer zones have introduced thoughtcrime into Scottish society. The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will stand up to this assault on our freedoms.”
Judge rules in favor of Catholic groups in abortion case
In the U.S., a federal judge ruled in favor of Catholic groups in an abortion-related case on Monday.
At issue was the federal government’s enforcement of new regulations that would require employers to offer time off for employees to get abortions. The regulations also included accommodations for in vitro fertilization visits and protections for transgenderism.
The ruling protects 7,000 Catholic parishes and 1,380 Catholic employers.
The ruling noted, “This challenge to religious liberty is a reminder of the danger of government action that is clearly anti-religion.”
Kamala Harris raised four times as much money as Trump
Vice President Kamala Harris raised $189 million for her presidential campaign last month. Meanwhile, during the same time, former President Donald Trump only raised $44 million.
However, the two candidates remain virtually tied in national polls. The latest CNN poll shows 48% of voters support Harris and 47% support Trump.
In terms of swing states, the latest New York Times poll found that Trump leads Harris in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina by two to five percentage points.
Overdose deaths dropped by 10%
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released provisional data on drug overdose deaths last week.
Overdose deaths dropped by 10% between April 2023 and April 2024. It’s the first decline since drug deaths spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the decline, there are still about 100,000 overdose deaths per year, a trend which has been in place since 2021.
States with big declines in overdose deaths include Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Arizona, Maine, and Vermont. Other states have not seen much declines or have even gotten worse like Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
People with an anti-Biblical worldview more prone to anxiety
And finally, Dr. George Barna released a report suggesting the consequences of anti-Biblical worldviews are often misdiagnosed and treated as mental illness.
An estimated one quarter of adults have some kind of diagnosable mental disorder. The number increases to a third among Millennials and Gen Z. The most common type of disorder is anxiety.
The report found numerous unbiblical beliefs often produce feelings of anxiety, depression, and fear. Such beliefs include having no purpose in life, rejecting God, denying objective truth, and accepting reincarnation.
Dr. Barna noted, “People do not frequently experience anxiety, depression, or fear as a result of possessing the Biblical worldview. The profile of those who possess a Biblical worldview also tend to have longer-lasting and happier marriages, a clear and compelling sense of meaning in life, more enduring and satisfying relationships, greater spiritual clarity and joy, a deeper commitment to forgiving other people, and regular engagement in service to other people.”
Romans 8:15 says, “For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father!’”

Fulani Muslim herdsmen kill Nigerian Christians
On Thursday, September 19th, Fulani Muslim herdsmen in central Nigeria, Africa killed two Christians, reports Morning Star News.
Solomon Sanga, a local resident, said, “Audu Bala and Jonathan Moses were working on their farms when these Fulani herdsmen waylaid them and shot at them. The two died instantly, while another Christian victim, Japheth Yakubu, was kidnapped on September 10 while he was working on his farm.”
In addition, the Fulani Muslim herdsmen murdered three other believers at church services the prior Sunday when they also kidnapped Pastor Yakubu and 30 congregation members. The assailants have phoned the pastor’s family, demanding a ransom of $18,295.
Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and plead the widow's cause.”
Please pray for Pastor Yakubu’s safe return as well as the other congregation members and that these Muslim murderers will be brought to justice, repent of their sin, and trust Jesus Christ as their Savior.
16 Hezbollah terrorists killed
After Israeli attacks on Hezbollah quarters in Lebanon over the weekend, the terrorist organization now reports 16 of its members were killed. Among the dead were senior Hezbollah leader Ibrahim Aqil and another top commander, Ahmed Wahb.
Plus, 21 others were reportedly killed in the bombing. Aqil was a suspect in the US embassy and Marine barrack bombings that killed 300 people in 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon.
Commenting on the Israeli attack, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said, “Any time a terrorist who has murdered Americans is brought to justice, we believe that that is a good outcome.”
Israel launched 300 missiles Monday against Hezbollah
Israel launched another 300 missiles on Monday at a Hezbollah target in Lebanon.
They simultaneously issued text messages in Arabic, urging residents of the area to “move away from the village.” The full context declared, ”If you are in a building housing weapons for Hezbollah, move away from the village until further notice,” reports the Associated Press.
The death toll from Monday’s attack was 182 persons, at last report.
Iran’s growing nuclear threat
Iran has 165 kilograms of 60% Uranium and 813 kilograms of 20% Uranium, according to the latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The nuclear project is increasing Iran’s store of highly-enriched Uranium at a rate of 100 kilograms per year.
To put this into perspective, the nuclear bomb that America dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in August 1945 contained about 50 kilograms of highly-enriched Uranium.
The report is only an estimate since Iran has discontinued international monitoring three and a half years ago.
1,000 West Africans drowned in flooding
Severe flooding has impacted western Africa, especially the nations of Chad, Nigeria, Mali, and Niger, reports CBS News.
At least 1,000 people have drowned in the deluges. Bridges and dams have collapsed. Public buildings and homes have been demolished by the waters. Dangerous flash floods occurring in the night have caught elderly people and those with disabilities unawares, resulting in the loss of life. Around 4,000,000 Africans have been affected — many of whom have been displaced.
Borno State Museum Park estimates losing 80% of their animals.
Oprah’s endorsement of Kamala Harris in Michigan
As The Worldview reported on Monday, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris sat down for a tightly scripted conversation with Oprah Winfrey in Michigan last Thursday.
Sky News Australia called it a Cringe-fest.
SKY NEWS NARRATOR: “Kamala Harris's interview with Oprah Winfrey went exactly as you would have expected. Commentators across the globe are mocking the interview, calling it a ‘cringe fest,’ and slamming its pathetic attempt to mask democratic propaganda as a hard-hitting interview.”
Oprah and Kamala were surrounded by liberal Hollywood actresses like Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, who joined by Zoom, and predictably parroted Democratic talking points and fawned over the Vice President.
At the very end of the virtual infomercial, Oprah enthusiastically endorsed Kamala for President.
Listen.
WINFREY: “This is the moment for all decent people, all caring people who want the best for yourself and you want the best for other people. This is the moment for people who are tired of all of the bickering and all of the name calling, people who are exhausted by the craziness and the made up stories and the conspiracies.
“This is the moment you want to get on with your life, because you know that we can do better and that we deserve better. As my friend and mentor Maya Angelou always said, ‘When you know better, you got to do better.’ Thank you. So, let's do better and vote for Kamala Harris.”
Poll: Trump edging out Harris in 4 battleground states
Pollsters expect the US presidential election this November to be close, most likely coming down to seven battleground states.
Recent Emerson College Polling and The Hill found Trump edging out Harris in Arizona (49% to 48%); Georgia (50% to 47%); Pennsylvania (48% to 47%); and Wisconsin (49% to 48%.)
The polling discovered Harris leading Trump in Michigan (49% to 47%) and North Carolina (49% to 48%). The candidates were tied at 48% in Nevada.
Whether it be the voters or the president of the United States, remember, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord. Like the rivers of water, He turns it wherever He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1)
Pentecostal and Baptist pastors more likely to vote for Trump
And finally, more details now on that Lifeway poll which revealed how U.S. Protestant pastors plan to vote in the presidential election which we first reported on September 18th.
Pastors of Pentecostal, Baptist, and non-denominational churches are the most enthusiastic supporters of Donald Trump with 64-65% of the leaders in these denominations planning to vote for the Republican presidential nominee.
Conversely, only 24% of Presbyterian pastors and 26% of Methodist pastors are going for Trump.

Indonesian church denied building permit for 10 years
For 10 long years now, the 600 members of Christ Congregation Millenium Peace Church have gathered on an empty plot of land in the Kartasura District in Indonesia to worship God. They set up a large tent to shield themselves from the scorching sun and lay mats down on the ground.
The Muslim-majority Indonesian government refuses to grant their request for a building permit to construct their desperately needed church building, reports International Christian Concern.
Pastor Ari Suksmono said the congregation purchased land 11 years ago and requested the permit the following year.
Despite the man-made obstacles, these believers recognize the truth of Psalm 96:4 which says, “For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.”
Please pray that the Indonesian government would grant their request to build the sanctuary for Christ Congregation Millenium Peace Church.
Oprah Winfrey interviews Kamala Harris in campaign “infomercial”
Last Thursday, in a Town Hall meeting called Unite for America that felt more like a Democratic infomercial, Oprah Winfrey interviewed Kamala Harris in Farmington Hills, Michigan, reported the New York Post.
Early on, an audience member asked about the open border.
AUDIENCE MEMBER #1: “What would be specific steps to strengthening the border?”
HARRIS: “So, it's a wonderful and important question. You know, my background was as a prosecutor, and I was also the elected Attorney General for two terms of a border state. So, this is not a theoretical issue for me. This is something I've actually worked on.”
AUDIENCE MEMBER #1: “Right.”
HARRIS: “I have prosecuted transnational criminal organizations for the trafficking of guns, drugs and human beings, I take very seriously the importance of having a secure border and ensuring the safety of the American people.”
Oddly enough, Kamala failed to talk about what she has done for the last three and a half years as Vice President and Biden’s Border Czar.
According to the American Federation for Immigration Reform, the total number of illegal aliens encountered since Fiscal Year 2020 now stands at over 9.4 million. There are at least 16.8 million illegal aliens in the United States, as of the beginning of 2023, which has led to a skyrocketing rise in fentanyl deaths and illegal violent crime.
Kamala Harris sidesteps question on bad economy
Another audience member asked Kamala Harris about the economy.
AUDIENCE MEMBER #2: “We are, like many young Americans, experiencing a very high cost of living. …Our mortgage is incredibly higher than what we thought it would be. We really would love to know what your plan is to help lower the cost of living.”
HARRIS: “Yours is a story I hear around the country as I travel in terms of both rightly having the right to have aspirations and dreams and ambitions for your family and working hard and finding that the American Dream, for this generation and so many recently, far more elusive than it's been. And we need to deal with that, and there are a number of ways. One is bringing down the cost of everyday necessities, including groceries.”
Under Kamala Harris, who has been Vice President for the last three and a half years, grocery prices are up 25% and inflation is up 17%. Forget about what her plan is for the next four years, she didn’t do it in the last four years.
Kamala Harris in trouble with staff over saying she would use gun
On guns, Kamala surprised Oprah.
HARRIS: “I'm a gun owner. Tim Walz is a gun owner.”
WINFREY: “I did not know that.”
HARRIS: “If they break in my house, they're probably going to get shot.”
WINFREY: “Yes, yes. I hear that. I hear that.”
HARRIS: “Sorry. Probably should not have said that. (laughs) but my staff will deal with that later.” (laughs)
Most Americans believe we have the right to defend ourselves and our property. Why would she be in trouble with her staff? Because Kamala Harris has advocated for gun-grabbing policies that violate the Second Amendment.
Kamala claims Founding Fathers driven by abortion and gay marriage
And, at the very end of the 90-minute infomercial for Kamala, Oprah asked this.
WINFREY: “What is on your heart to say to the American people, as we have 47 days until November 5? What's on your heart to say to particularly those people who are still undecided or maybe indifferent or on the fence still?”
HARRIS: “I love our country. I know we all do. That's why everybody's here right now. We love our country. We take pride in the privilege of being America. This is a moment where we can and must come together as Americans, understanding we have so much more in common than what separates us. Let's come together with the character that we are so proud of about who we are, which is we are an optimistic people.
“Americans, by character, are people who have dreams and ambitions and aspirations. We believe in what is possible. We believe in what can be, and we believe in fighting for that.
“That's how we came into being, because the people before us understood that one of the greatest expressions of patriotism is to fight for the ideals of who we are, which includes freedom to make decisions about your own body, freedom to be safe from gun violence, freedom to have access to the ballot box, freedom to be who you are and to love who you love openly and with pride, freedom to just be you.”
WINFREY: “mmm”
Matt Walsh: Kamala Harris is "nonsensical and evil!"
Christian commentator Matt Walsh offered this analysis.
WALSH: “It's nonsensical and vapid and quite verbose in the emptiest and most shallow way possible. But at the core of it, to the extent that she's saying anything at all, what she's saying is also twisted and evil.
“Because the only parts that were intelligible were the parts where she says that America is built on abortion, gay marriage and gun confiscation -- the three things that the founders of our country either specifically repudiated, in the case of gun confiscation, or, in the case of the other two, never repudiated because they were so unthinkable in those days they didn't need to be addressed. And certainly three things that are not rights enumerated in the Constitution, and yet these are the rights, the ‘freedoms,’ that Kamala Harris says the entire country is built on.
“Nonsensical and evil!”
Reformed pastor Steve Lawson resigns over sin
And finally, a Texas pastor known for his fiery preaching and frequent appearances alongside John MacArthur has been removed from ministry after an alleged "inappropriate relationship" with an unidentified woman, reports The Christian Post.
Steve Lawson, the 73-year-old lead preacher at Trinity Bible Church of Dallas and a prominent figure in the Reformed/Calvinist Evangelicalism movement, informed the church's elders about the relationship, according to a statement released by the church.
Lawson, who holds a masters of theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and a doctorate from Reformed Theological Seminary, will no longer be compensated by Trinity Bible Church of Dallas.
The statement said, "Steve has confessed and regrets the damage he has caused to his family, the church, the reputation of OnePassion Ministries and most of all Jesus Christ. We are saddened for the glory of Christ in this matter.”
He formerly served as a teaching fellow at Ligonier Ministries and as the dean of Doctor of Ministry Studies at The Master's Seminary but has since been removed from both websites.
He wrote 36 books including The Unwavering Resolve of Jonathan Edwards and The Expository Genius of John Calvin.
1 Peter 5:8 warns, "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary, the Devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

Pakistani Christian mother sentenced to death
On Wednesday, a Pakistani Christian mother of four children received the death sentence after a judge convicted her under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, reports Morning Star News.
Shagufta Kiran, age 40, was convicted under Section 295-C of Pakistan’s widely condemned blasphemy laws for insulting Muhammad, the false prophet of Islam, which carries a mandatory death sentence.
She was arrested in Islamabad by the Federal Investigation Agency on July 29, 2021, for allegedly sharing blasphemous content in a WhatsApp group in September 2020. Her husband and two sons were also taken into custody during the raid but were later released.
Attorney Rana Hameed said, “The complaint against Kiran was registered by a Muslim named Shiraz Farooqi, who alleged that she had shared content disrespectful of Islam’s prophet. However, Kiran has maintained that she has not authored the content and had forwarded it in the WhatsApp group without reading it.”
Formerly a nurse, Kiran had joined several interfaith WhatsApp groups, where she proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ and defended her Christian faith. One such group, Pure Discussions, was administered by the complainant, Shiraz Farooqi.
While the mother is hopeful of a positive outcome from the superior courts, she misses her family terribly.
The verdict did not come as a surprise, as 99 percent of those charged under Section 295-C are convicted by trial courts under pressure from Islamists.
According to the Center for Social Justice, nearly 3,000 people have been accused of blasphemy in Pakistan since 1987. Specifically, in the Punjab Province alone, 552 Christians are currently detained in prisons.
Pakistan ranks seventh on the Open Doors 2024 World Watch List of the most difficult places to be a Christian.
Trump objects to Kamala’s lies and thanks God for sparing his life twice
On the presidential campaign trail, Donald Trump spoke on Wednesday at a rally on Long Island in Uniondale, New York. He took issue with the dishonest claims by Kamala Harris and the liberal media, reports RealClearPolitics.com.
TRUMP: “It's time to stop the lies, stop the hoaxes, stop the smears, stop the lawfare of the fake lawsuits against me, and stop claiming your opponents will turn America into a dictatorship. Give me a break, because the fact is that I'm not a threat to democracy, they are.
“They're doing things in politics that have never been done before in the history of our country. And worst of all, with their open borders and bad elections, they have made us into a Third World nation, something which nobody thought was even possible. Americans deserve a campaign based on the issues. We try and keep it on the issues.”
And, Trump also expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life twice from recent assassination attempts.
TRUMP: “God has now spared my life — It must have been. God, thank you. Not once, but twice. There are those that say He did it because Trump is going to turn this state around. He's going to turn this country around. He's going to make America great again.”
Pro-abortion Republican Congressional candidate: A gutless wonder
Republican Matt Gunderson is hoping to unseat incumbent Democrat Rep. Mike Levin of California’s 49th congressional district. But his strategy is raising eyebrows by campaigning on a promise to keep abortion “safe, legal, and rare,” apparently hoping that his pro-abortion view will help him prevail in America’s most liberal state, reports LifeSiteNews.com.
Listen.
GUNDERSON: “On a woman's right to choose, I'm pro-choice. I believe abortion should be safe, legal and rare. I don't want politicians dictating health care for my daughters. You might disagree, and that's okay.
“But I bet there's more that unites us, like lowering housing, grocery, and gas prices, securing the border, and protecting Social Security. We can end the overheated political rhetoric and focus on fixing a broken Washington. I'm Matt Gunderson, and I approved this message.”
Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, shifting public opinion and a wave of 10 pro-abortion ballot initiatives have led some in the Republican Party to conclude they must moderate the party’s longstanding pro-life stance.
Pro-life activists such as Lila Rose, founder of LiveAction, have forcefully challenged that conclusion, but because Trump has vocally sided with the moderation camp throughout his current campaign, other GOP candidates have been given cover to compromise as well.
Psalm 119:1-3 says, “Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths."
Good Samaritan saves trucker from fire
And finally, a Virginia man is being hailed a hero after he saw a fire blazing under a tractor-trailer — and immediately took action, reports FaithWire.com.
Akeem Dixon was on his way to a job interview this week in Norfolk, Virginia, when he noticed the blaze.
DIXON: “I was in a tunnel. Beside me, I see a tractor trailer. And I see under the tractor trailer, I see a fire under the truck.”
Recognizing the need to move quickly, he started honking to get the driver’s attention, but to no avail.
That’s when Dixon decided to pull his car in front of the tractor-trailer, according to WVEC-TV.
DIXON: “[As] soon as we get inside the tunnel, I just drive right in front of him, put my forward flashers on, and I slowed right down to a complete stop. Then he stopped behind me. So, when I got out of my car, I rushed straight to the truck. And I was, like, ‘Yo, there’s a fire underneath your truck!”
The driver got out of the truck and Dixon told him to get a fire extinguisher. But it quickly became evident time was running out. Due to the flames, the engine was going to explode at any moment.
DIXON: “I tell him to leave the truck, because it’s going to blow any minute. Just leave it and come to my car. Let’s move to my car, far away from the truck. As soon as we move from the truck and close to my car, at the same time, we hear a boom.”
Thankfully, Dixon and the driver remained safe — all thanks to his selfless actions.
John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, to lay down his life for his friends.” Or, in the case of Akeem Dixon, for a stranger!
