Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 6 Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness. 7 Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider [Hebrew: they did not remember] your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. 13 But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel. 20 They exchanged the glory of God for the image of an ox that eats grass. 21 They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, 22 wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea. 45 For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love. Mark 8:14-21 NIV The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat. “Be careful,” Jesus warned them. “Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod.” They discussed this with one another and said, “It is because we have no bread.” Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?
