Many managers fall into the trap of believing that their manager will understand why they haven’t hit their target or quota. They seem to think that because the senior manager has handed out all sorts of other tasks, then they’ll accept your failure to achieve your target.
Well let me tell you now – they won’t!
Some business owners believe that their bank manager or investors will understand all the reasons why they haven’t achieved their business outcomes.
However, as I’m sure you know, bank managers and investors only want to hear that you have achieved what you said you’d do.

Are you a creature of habit?
Our habits, keep us safe, stop us getting run over by a bus, and keep us in a comfort zone.

If you want to move forward in whatever it is you do in 2025 ......

That is if you want employees who are de-motivated and don’t produce results.
Lack of time is one of the main reasons cited by managers for not spending time with their people.
This is really a bit of a red herring. A manager will say that they don’t have the time to spend with their people mainly because they don’t see the value in it.
All of us can find that bit more time. Successful managers run their own minds; they don’t let anyone else do it for them.

Many businesses and organisations will claim that directing us to their website when we have a query, or their FAQ’s, is much better for us in terms of customer service.
But it’s not!

To be a first-class salesperson, a successful manager, or just a good communicator, you need to be good at selling yourself and building rapport.
Selling yourself (or anything else) isn’t about talking about you or what you do; it’s about listening and understanding the other person’s experience.

There are many reasons why people get stressed, and dealing with other people is one of the main causes of negative stress.
Dealing with customers, your boss, the people who work for you, other colleagues, and let’s face it - your family, can be extremely stressful.
We can get extremely stressed when people don’t see things the way we do.
Well, let me make something really clear – other people don’t see things the way you do, or the way I do, and they might never do.
When you’re dealing with other people, think to yourself: Do they decide how I’ll behave, or - do I decide how I’ll behave?

Do you think or do you react when dealing with other people?
You’re probably aware that human beings are primarily driven by their emotions; their map of the world and how they believe things should be.
This comes from your values, and beliefs based on your culture. How you were brought up and what you were taught. Everything that was programmed into your brain from an early age.
Reacting to difficult people will make life more difficult, thinking will make it less so.
Listen to this episode and find out how to do it.
