The owner is yet to come forward of a dog who died from dehydration during the recent hot spell in Clare.

An elderly brown terrier was found dead in Clarecastle after being left outside while the temperature was in the high 20s.

The dog was later brought to the vets and hasn't been claimed as yet.

Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says it's unclear why the owner hasn't made contact.
