Grab your notebook and pen because this episode with Jess from @handlersandhumans is jam packed full of info!! Jess is a licensed professional counselor who lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, her 8 year old pit mix Dio, and her cat named Bat. Animals and therapy are two of Jess's passions, and she has brought them together in many ways, such as getting certified in animal assisted therapy, by doing equine psychotherapy work, training her reactive dog to become a therapy dog, and now as a coach who supports dog owners struggling with the human side of their training journey. Dio is a reactive boy who has worked hard to earn his CGC and pass the therapy dog evaluations - but made it clear that therapy work wasn't a fit for him, so now he's a happy house dog, loving life and hanging out with his cat all day.

Because of this, Nicole has lived the majority lf her life on a STRICT gluten free diet. Growing up with strict dietary restrictions, even necessary ones, has had a great impact on Nicole's relationship with food and trust in her own body, but overtime with the help of supportive friends and family, she has gained confidence and started her healing journey.

I had the pleasure of talking to Shannon from @loveandfeathersandshells! Shannon Cutts' unique path to animal communication has given her the knowledge and skill to gently and compassionately hold space for you and your pet as you build your relationship. Animal communication is about more than just learning to tune in to receive and translate interspecies messages. It is also about connecting with you, the animal’s human. Most importantly, animal communication is about supporting you and your pet to feel closer and more connected at every stage of life, including after they have passed into spirit. And sometimes that gets complicated. Stuff can come up. Could your interspecies family use a pep talk, a mediator, a translator, an objective new voice, a fresh perspective, an unconditionally loving mentor? Shannon Cutts is happy to help. Her pets are Flash Gordon, an 8 year old standard wirehaired dachshund; Petal, a 3 month old cockatiel; Malti, a 9 year old redfoot tortoise; and Io, a 1.5 year old 3-toed box turtle.
You can find Shannon’s website to book a session here and listen to her podcast here (which I am a guest on the same week this episode comes out)! If you book a session with Shannon, please let me know!

This is the fourth episode in a series all about how dog ownership can look and feel different based on where you live and what your lifestyle is like!
This episode is with Emma from @byemmashay! Emma is a 26 year old dog mom living in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan with her husband, Zack, and their 3 year old mutt, Charlie. Ever since bringing home Charlie in the summer of 2020, Emma has been focused on two main things: her dog and her home. Emma strives to make a dog-friendly home that doesn’t sacrifice style. She shares design tips and inspiration on her Instagram @byemmashay (which is newly rebranded!) and on her new blog byemmashay.com for others to love where they live and incorporate their dog into their home design, which includes fun additions like a dog gallery wall and sniff station. Since I last recorded with Emma in August, we have both gotten married, she has launched a design business, and is about to pick up a new Dalmatian puppy!
