Dog Trainer's Podcast

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Dog Trainers Podcast. Join Brent and Mariano as they interview Denise Fenzi, author of the best selling book “Beyond the BackYard”, “Dog Sports Vol.1-4” and her most recent book “Conversations with Raika”. She is also joined by a returning guest to the Podcast and R+ trainer, Sara Brueske.

In this episode, we discuss who influences and motivates us outside of dog training, finding ways to get owners to care more about training their dogs, the upsides and downsides to modern day dog training in the age of social media and much, much more.

This is by far one of our longer episodes and it’s definitely a podcast you won't want to miss. Thank you again to Denise and Sara for coming on the show to talk with us and having such an engaging dialogue and we hope to have that back again soon.

Hey guys, Mariano here!

Brent and I have been lucky enough to have guest after guest on the podcast. That being said, It's been a while since we've shot an episode just the two of us. We were really excited to get back to basics for a bit!! In this episode, we discuss the top 5 things that newer trainers get wrong. This is a topic that we've been looking into for a while. It's something that we had to think about to make sure that we approached it with due respect and forethought. As you listen, please know that we made this episode as a response to the many questions that we get every week. The things that we see newer trainers doing that can be improved upon. And what we hear from listeners and clients who are not dog trainers as they have invaluable insights for us as well. We hope you enjoy this topic. We definitely enjoyed recording it! We look forward to doing more like it in the future.
Thanks for listening!!

Hey guys, Mariano here!

Brent and I had such a great time conversing with Blake Rodriguez from Dream Come True K9. This seems funny to say, but it's been a while since we've had an opportunity to discuss dog training to such a detailed extent. Mostly because there's just so much to cover, yet it is refreshing to be able to cover training in a more basic sense. Here in Pt.2 of our interview, we cover the difference between obedience and relationship. We discuss trainers making content on social media and the criticism therein. We discuss the shifting tides in training today. We cover making the concepts in training make sense to owners. And more. Thanks for listening!!

Hey everyone, Mariano here!

Brent and I have been so happy with this roll of awesome guest after awesome guest that we've had on the podcast. We are lucky enough to continue that streak with another amazing and insightful guest, Blake Rodriguez. He's the owner of Dream Come True K9. He's hosted on Considerthedog.com and is involved with training seminars that he does alongside our mutual friend Tyler Muto.

Whenever we have a guest on with us here at DTP we ask ourselves (and each other) what it is that this person may be able to offer our listeners that no one else can? How do we maximize the time that they've been generous enough to share with us so that trainers around the world can leave this episode armed with new and insightful information? In the case of Blake, he has an incredible ability to explain the nature of communication, relationships, learning theory with clients that is simply incredible. In Pt.1 of our interview with him, we discuss Blake's introduction into the world of dog training. We discuss the state of dog training today. We discuss BJJ and how it helps him (and me) develop as a dog trainer. And so much more!!

Hey guys, Mariano here!
Here's one of our favorite aspects of hosting a dog training podcast. The connections we get to make. Not only the direct ones but the indirect ones as well. Larry Krohn is a true expert in the art of dog training. His resume stands with the other legends in the training world. We were lucky enough to have him on as a guest and we all had a blast!!

In this interview, we discuss Larry's life and start in the world of training. We discuss the issues that plague dog training today. We cover some more controversial posts online. The difference between obedience and behavior. The real grandmasters of dog training today and so much more! Larry was an awesome guest! He's a very nice guy and so cool as well! Easy to talk and have a laugh with. He's got endless knowledge in the field of dog training. You definitely don't want to miss this episode. Thanks for listening!
