Dog Trainer's Podcast

Hey guys, Mariano here!
Let me preface our interview with Jonas Black with a few key points.

#1. Here at DTP, it is not only our obligation but our honor and privilege to speak with trainers from all walks of life. Whether people find them to be controversial, or not.
#2. I think I can speak for both Brent and me when I say that Jonas Black is as real as they come! Not only in his technical skill and understandings of training but also in his unmatched passion for this art.
#3. Jonas warned us about having him on and the potential for blow-back that may come with it. We assured him that we're happy to speak with him any time. Partly because he's so insightful. Partly because he's so nice and fun to talk to. Partly because we (Brent and I) believe in the value of standing up for our friends. And partly because we're confident that our listeners are the best in the business! As the best, we know that you all understand the importance of open, authentic, and unfiltered conversation.
#4. Never let fear stop you from having the conversation!

With all that being said, Jonas was an awesome guest! He's such an amazing person with huge ambition in the dog training world and the skill and heart to see it through! He was an absolute pleasure to have on. We have no doubt that this interview will be an instant classic!!
Thanks for listening!

We did it, guys!
We were lucky enough to have an amazing conversation with an R+ trainer. And not just any trainer, but Sara Brueske!! She's an incredible dog trainer with a very diverse resume in the dog training world. She travels and does seminars, as well as performs with her dogs at the world-famous Purina farms,  and she's doing all of this using R+ training in the world of sport dogs which is mostly balanced training.

Beyond all of her accomplishments, she's also just the coolest and kindest person you'll ever meet! Her presence is just so inviting and we can't thank her enough for taking the time to converse with us. In our interview, we discuss her background and career. We discuss the cut-throat world of "Balanced vs. Pure Positive". We discuss the importance of utilizing our modern social media tools and so much more!! You don't want to miss this episode!

Happy New Year, Everyone!
We hope you all enjoyed a bit of a break this Holiday season! Let's make sure that we make up for last year by kicking this one off with drive, focus, and hunger! Brent and I thought that we'd start off the new year with an awesome interview. We were lucky enough to have met Tony Pinto. He's an up and coming dog trainer in California's bay area. He reached out to us for advice, and we decided what better way to offer that advice than to have him come on as a guest? We discuss topics ranging from kennels who's training departments that may need some help, to various methods of dog training, and what we think may be his best bet moving forward in this industry. We hope you enjoy this interview. Tony was an awesome guest. We look forward to having him back soon and we think that you guys will agree! Thanks for listening!

Hey guys!
Welcome back to DTP. Today, Brent and I wanted to dissect the differences in training with a prong collar, vs. training using an e-collar. These are two very distinct and versatile tools. They have a ton of potential for overlap in their respective capabilities. With that being said, these tools do have significant differences in certain aspects. Brent and I look into these differences. Not only from the trainer's perspective, but from the owners, as well as the dog's perspective as well. We hope you find this insightful. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Thanks for listening!

Hey guys,
Mariano here!

Once again, Brent and I are excited to bring you part two of our interview with Sean O'Shea from The Good Dog training in Los Angeles, and New Orleans. Here in part two, we dive further into TGD's upcoming book, The Good Dog Way: Love Them By Leading Them Vol. 2. Brent and I were lucky enough to receive early copies of the book to review, and discuss with Sean. We've both had a chance to read it over and can agree that it's every bit as impactful, and insightful as the first book. But with a twist! It's an innovative new take, not only on dog training but for life development overall. Maybe it's best described as the natural evolution of Sean and his, and his team's years of hard work.

In Part two, we go over the second book in better detail. We discuss TGD's current endeavors, plans for the future, the current state of dog training, and so much more! We hope you enjoy!
