DOMESTIC ABUSE WITH NATASHA SAUNDERS AND REFUGE

Listen Later

WARNING: This episode of But Why contains graphic descriptions of domestic abuse and sexual violence against women.

In this episode of But Why, Clemmie teams up with Refuge to explore the topic of domestic abuse. Clemmie speaks to campaigner and consultant for causes against domestic abuse Natasha Saunders, who suffered eight years of sexual, mental, physical, economic and emotional abuse, as well as coercive control. Natasha is committed to raising awareness of the far-reaching impact of domestic abuse both on a personal level, but also on a wider, societal level.

Clemmie also speaks to Kim Manning-Cooper, who is head of media and campaigns at Refuge. Kim has worked in human rights and social justice for more than 20 years and tells Clemmie all about Refuge's work and explains just how widespread domestic abuse is.
