Doonbeg and West Clare are eagerly awaiting the Amgen Irish Open, which is set to tee off at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel this September.  

 

Around 70,000 spectators are expected, the world's top golfers are confirmed to compete, and now there's growing speculation that US President Donald Trump could also attend after saying he "thinks" he'll travel to Ireland for the tournament.  

 

To discuss preparations, the excitement surrounding the event and what a potential presidential visit would mean, Alan Morrissey was joined on Monday’s show by Doonbeg Fianna Fáil councillor, Rita McInerney, and Tommy Comerford from Doonbeg Community Development.
