Ten Questions

Wanting to have a light-hearted episode Lee came up with ten life questions about likes, preferences and aspirations. Well, not exactly deep aspirations, which the boys want to discuss at another time, but fun aspirations. After Lee's initial correct guess at Keith's early answer, they both had a few raised eyebrows and laughs at some of the other's answers.

KEITH’S AUSTRALIA and LEE’S ENGLAND

With a growing international audience, the boys wanted to give some background to the towns they grew up in – as well as their respective countries. Although Keith and Lee were born about as far away from each other as possible, they both come from historical, coastal towns. So, there are some similarities. However, their countries are very different despite both being English-speaking. Having both visited and lived in each other’s countries, their perspectives on the other’s home country are a nice juxtaposition.

TECHNOLOGY - THE GOOD AND THE BAD.


Technology today is all around us. Most likely more so than any other time in our history. Our new digital world is so deeply embedded into our everyday life there is barely an industry, a business, a sport or recreation that is untouched by it. Like most inventions that 'advance' our lives, modern technology is not without it's controversy. It's a big topic with much to discuss, yet Keith and Lee bravely take it on.

LIFE AND DEATH

At some point we all talk about these two big subjects.To make sense of life asking does it have meaning, is there a purpose etc? We might be faced with death or having to deal with the loss of someone close. All of us experience both but not everyone shares the same views. For some life as we know it is all there is, so treasure and enjoy it. While, others hold a more serious outlook in that there is an afterlife, even a heaven, so better behave yourself. With Keith and Lee's usual personal touch a few different perspectives emerge - and pertinent questions asked.

SEX AND RELATIONSHIPS

Sex … just the mention of the word gets our attention. For who isn’t interested? Well, maybe the rare few. Fifty shades of grey? Hmmm … maybe five hundred more like it for it’s been said that sex is one of the two things most people lie about. The other being money. And why so, mainly because both topics are so loaded with values. It can be dangerous to really state what you like about sex– and what you may are doing! Some though take the other approach and boast, which probably means they really are lying. It’s a big topic and one Keith and Lee were happy to discuss with a few laughs along the way.

MOVIES AND FILM STARS

We have all been impacted by movies - we grew up with them. They are such an integral part of popular culture how could we otherwise? Perhaps more so in times gone by. Still, most of us have our favourite movies and movie stars. Particularly Lee who especially loves that era of movies when we all raced off to see them in a time before the rise of streaming services. For a modern, young guy (sic) it's surprising how far back his love of movies go - and who his favourite stars are. Well, not quite back to the John Wayne era, but if pushed, it would not be surprising. As movies are very close to Lee's heart this episode is an enjoyable little romp discussing them.

President Putin and Russia

Having posted an episode on Mr Donald Trump, Keith and Lee decided to balance the ledger with that other controversial, international figure, President Vladimir Putin. But is he the real European threat that we are led to believe? Maybe most of us think that he is due to the constant portrayals of him in this negative light. Have the media manufactured our consent to support this view just as they maneuvered us to believe in Saddam Hussien's non-existant "weapons of mass destruction?" Or is Vladimir Putin another modern-day nationalist leader fighting to preserve the break up of his country's federation? ... perhaps he really is the new "Hitler" The boys jump right into this one.

3. TRUMP AND AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

Nobody these days seems to be able to avoid talking about the Donald. His shadow looms large, not only over the USA, but across the globe, even as far as Australia. And like most people, Keith and Lee have their views on the man, his past presidency, his current bumpy runup to the 2024 election and what it may mean should he win it - or not. This is a hot topic for Lee, and one Keith was more than willing to get him started on. And sure enough, there were a few sparks along the way.

2.  LOVE AND HATE

Very few emotions stir us as much as love and hate. We all experience one or the other frequently, and with various degrees of intensity, throughout our lives. It can be triggered by an unexpected encounter with other people (or a single person), a situation, a loss, a gain, or an experience. After a very surprising and candid conversation with a buddy at a recent birthday party about love, Keith wanted to discuss it further with Lee. This episode produced a few surprises as well.

1. PARENTING AND FAMILY

Most of us have parents, become parents, and therefore value parenting relationships as our most important along with those with our partners. Being a parent or an offspring is not always easy, as we would wish it to be - or it is simply one of the most cherished dimensions of our family life. Keith and Lee discuss parenting reflecting on their own upbringing, being fathers and what being a parent means to them. Surprisingly this is one of their frankest episodes.
