KEITH AND PETA'S BOOKS
... Children's author Peta D March joins Keith and Lee as their first guest on Dont Get Me Started. Lee knew that Keith had written a few books and wanted to know a little more. Probably as an opportunity to poke him a little! Cheeky bugger that he is. Keith related that he is a self-published author with mixed success. Some books have sold well on Amazon and others not at all. By contrast, Keith's friend Peta March's first book was published by Pegasus Publishers, an established publishing house. In relating her story she tells why she took up the pen to write, her publishing experience and a little of the book's narrative concerning The MacDuff Twins and the Mystic Crystal (the book's title). Best described as magic realism. Peta was an articulate and interesting guest. So much so that both Keith and Lee were impressed to the point of ordering her book - and her second one when it comes out. And of course hoping for her signature.

Graham Eddy
It's not every day you get to sit and talk with a man who makes his living from betting. However, as hosts of the Noosa Now podcast we had the thrill of doing just that. But hey, that's Noosa isn't it? It's a town full of interesting people, particularly one who is on top of their game. Our guest today on Noosa Now is someone who fits that description perfectly. It was exciting to hear his story. Also what was fascinating about what Graham had to say was that he told us a lot - but revealed very little concerning the details of how to make such a living. Or maybe that's because I wasn't able to put all the pieces together. Still, it was a fun interview and one which I think most listeners will enjoy as much as I did.

IS BLOOD REALLY THICKER THAN WATER?
It's quite common to quote that "blood is thicker than water" with the inference that family is where our first priority lies. There is however an expansion on that quote that is not so well-known. Which is, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." And this version has the reverse inference, being that any deep, mutually bonding agreement - or friendship - can often be much more important than some relationships with your family members. It took a while before Keith and Lee got around to discussing this as, which is often the case, they were distracted commenting on a few other matters. One that took Lee by surprise but allowed Keith to put the boot in a little. Well, we are talking about the Aussie and the Pom here, aren't we?

JUST A FRIENDLY DISCUSSION ABOUT ...
With no particular topic to discuss Keith and Lee launch into a chat about some recent events here in Queensland and in New South Wales. The imminent State Election and the English king Charles's visit are the main talking points. It's a bit of a romp with a few laughs along the way. Which the boys are grateful to enjoy having not been hauled off to the Tower of London for recently expressing their Republican views. Well, why shouldn't they? Keith is made of good Irish stock and Lee has a very healthy dose of French blood flowing through him. So good luck to them both. Lee's a bit fired up about the election process but with limited time available, Keith really didn't want to get him started. Probably a wise move - but then again, there is always the next episode ...

JOHANNA WALLACE
Our studio guest today for Noosa Now is Johanna Wallace owner and Creative Director of Noosa's Little Seed youth theatre company. Johanna started Little Seed over twenty years ago and has overseen its growth to become, not only here in Noosa but state-wide, one of Queensland's premier youth theatre troupes. Each year Little Seed produces numerous well-loved plays and musicals such as Guys and Dolls, Wicked and Marry Poppins which are staged in The J at a highly polished level of professionalism. And are very entertaining. Her packed annual programme also includes Little Seed actors performing (at the Lake McDonald open-air amphitheater) one of Shakespeare's plays - completely unabridged, just as the Bard wrote them. Little Seed consistently wins awards for its excellence and is a hot-bed for nurturing many local young talents.

KING CHARLES 111 AND THE REPUBLIC
A considerable and quite surprising controversy has blown up around the coming October visit of King Charles the Third to Australia. His first as King. Whilst Charles is king of England, he is also king of Australia (yes, king of Australia and all its states and territories, which might surprise some) the controversy has once again ignited the discussion of Australia becoming a republic. The controversy, at a very high level, was too good an opportunity for Keith and Lee not to throw in their two cents. Which of course they did. And they treated it with the utmost respect - or did they? So, what fate awaits them - a knighthood, or off to the tower?

NOOSA NOW
A high-rise, six-storey building for Noosa Junction - really? Yes, really - and it's very close to becoming a reality! With no guest on this episode Keith and Lee discuss how this is possible by vested interests over-riding the local council, what it means for the future of Noosa and who is speaking out against it.
For further information on this issue click the Noosa Matters link below for the "Never-ending story: the bull-Tozer set to smash Noosa's iconic Town Plan" written by Terry Quinn.

HUMOUR AND LAUGHTER.
Things get a little crazy on this episode. Not being content to merely talk about humour, the boys indulge with a few jokes along the way - actually quite a few. Typical of their indomitable style, Keith and Lee attempt to mix up their laughs with some serious moments - after all they were supposed to be talking about humour. However it didn't take too long for the chat to derail again with them indulging in their own humour. Well, why not? As Lee points out there are many benefits in enjoying humour. Laughing is good for you. Plus he had a clever joke that caught Keith out nicely. In fact Keith didn't fully get the joke until the microphones were turned off. Lee is still laughing.

LIFE DOSEN'T HAVE TO BE EASY - OR DOES IT ?
Keith's now recovered enough to return into the studio after a week and a half of self-isolation. And there is nothing that he and Lee enjoy more than chatting together face to face across their microphones. Not content to simply catch up with some casual chat, the two of them decided to discuss one of life's big questions, "Should life be easy?" As you do - right? But not being certified sociologists, evolutionary psychologists or even clinical psychiatrists, or whatever/whoever else may have helped them share some expert insights, didn't deter them one little bit.
Well, Slavoj Zizek or Jordan Peterson weren't around so they simply waded right into it. Now to be fair, they did give it their best shot and along the way a few little gems of home-spun wisdom somehow managed to come tumbling out.
