    NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS -

... Well, it's the first episode of Dont Get Me Started for 2025 so why shouldn't Keith and Lee talk about New Year resolutions? Not surprisingly neither of the guys made one - or two. So they couldn't share what might have been goals or changes they were determined to aim at in the coming twelve months. What they did share was why they don't bother to have New Year resolutions. Lee is a goal-originated type of guy. Pretty well on top of personal affairs and knows where he's going. So no real need for resolutions, as he steadily achieves as he progresses through life. Keith on the other hand is much more casual to the point where he often goes along with an impetus merely because it sounds like a good idea. He didn't address this on the episode, most likey due to some of his misadventures not turning out too well. Perhaps he doesn't need New Year resolutions but some achievable ones he could work during the everyday course of living. Hopefully old dogs can learn new tricks after all.

Keith and Lee's Christmas wishes -

... It has been an exciting podcasting year for Keith and Lee. Don't Get Me Started has grown far beyond their expectations and has been a very thrilling ride for them. In this episode, they simply wanted to wish their listeners all the very best for Christmas. Which they did, but then veered very close to recording another conversation. It seems they just can't help themselves as they love being in the studio behind their microphones. Yet, they did manage to pull it back and commence once again to spread some Christmas cheer. So wherever you are in the world listening, have a safe and wonderful Christmas with your family and loved ones. From Keith and Lee. See you all next year.

     KEITH AND LEE'S CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

... Now that the end of the year is upon us Keith and Lee wanted to make this episode one to share some Christmas cheer. As per usual, they pose a question for some discussion: "Now that Christmas is here, are you a happy Christmas guy or are you a Grinch?" Lee being the bright soul he is couldn't be if he tried - and Keith? Well, he's not too bad a fellow either, is he? So it was good Christmas vibes all around. This year has been the first year of podcasting for Keith and Lee and its global growth has surprised them. Another surprise too was that this episode is almost their fiftieth. So what a year it has been for them. The boys wish all their listeners a happy festive season and thank them for tuning in. They also brought in their first guest they hosted on another of their podcasts, "Noosa Now." The one and only Michael Woodham, so they invited him into the studio to share the joy - and the fun, of which he had no trouble joining in. So from Keith and Lee, see you all in 2025. Merry Christmas.

KEITH AND LEE'S PODCAST YEAR -

... Keith and Lee are not quite sure why they started up a podcast. Most likely because it sounded like a good idea at the time. Which of course it most certainly was. They only felt some assurance that it would be fun, which it most definitely has been. The only real certainly was the name they started with - "Sticking it In" with the connotation being they'd stick their opinions and noses into whatever topic that wanted to talk about. However, some family members prompted that it sounded too suggestive in a crude sexual manner. Well, with that being far from their minds at the time, and being the gentlemen that they most certainly are, they deferred to their counsel and came up with the podcast name: "Don't Get Me Started." Which, Keith and Lee are glad about as it still infers them talking about the 'whatevers' in a fun/serious way. And it worked! So as a wrap-up for the end of the year celebrating their podcasting 50 episodes into 19 countries and 40 cities the boys share which episodes have been their good, their bad and their ugly ones from their first year. As usual there are some surprises along the way.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO AGE BUT NOT MATURE? -

At times, Keith and Lee tend to think of themselves as reasonably informed amateurs. That is to say they'll have an opinion on just about any topic even though they're not experts, let alone qualified. Which is not always the best position to take is it? But that certainly doesn't stop them. Sometimes though it does get interesting. It probably would be more so if they had someone like Jordan Petersen to help with an episode such as this week's topic. The question, "Is it possible to age but not mature?" is a very good one. Particularly when focussing on maturing. That alone is a pertinent question - what does maturing mean? As always the two of them wade into it with all their worth. Maybe not presenting anything too profound but dropping a few insights never-the-les that may provoke some reflection. And enjoying themselves along the way.

OUR FIRST IN-STUDIO GUEST - ROSS

... This podcast of Dont Get Me Started was totally derailed by the unexpected studio guest who sought out Keith and Lee specifically to meet them in their home town. Usually the two guys like to discuss, in their own way as two reasonably informed amateurs, a specific issue, idea or thought. But not this time. The guest, Ross, (one of the first listeners to Keith and Lee's podcast) made contact with Lee who was then keen to include him in the weekly DGMS podcast. And he proved to be a very entertaining inclusion with some dry humour, surprises and insightful comments. Ross pretty well ran away with the show, so much so Lee suggested he phone in sometime in the future to further share his unique contributions. Keith not so keen.

    SANDY BOLTON ...

    - In this episode a special guest joins Noosa Now's hosts Lee and Keith in the DGMS Studios for a friendly chat. Fresh from her winning a third term as Noosa's Representative in State Parliament, Sandy Bolton sits down to discuss life as a politician along with sharing a few insights into Sandy the person. As the only independent local member in Queensland's Parliament Sandy is in a unique position to fully represent the interests of Noosa - not just the town but the wider Noosa region, without party interference. And she does that well with hard work, integrity and transparency. No surprise then that she is held in such high regard, indeed with great affection.

    ADDICTIONS -

... Do we all have addictions? What is an addiction? Are some addictions mild and others extreme? What if you do have an extreme addiction, can one still function effectively? Are all addictions bad, or can some be good? Why do we rely on addictions? And why do movies and TV shows often romanticise the addictions of "interesting" characters - such as Patrick Melrose and Sherlock Holmes? These are just some of the questions Keith and Lee discuss in this episode. The boys draw for life's lessons when tackling these big questions but lessons from whom? Others that they have spoken to, heard about or from personal lessons? Keith and Lee are normally quite open, but is one or perhaps both holding their cards close to their chest?

    KEITH'S BOOKS

... Last episode Keith and Lee interviewed a successful first-time author, Peta March. In contrast to Peta's experience Keith's writing experience has been quite chequered, to say the least. With one novel (never published), a novella (never published), an edition of short stories (co-authored and heard on Keith's other podcast "Surf Town"), a handbook on taekwondo, a small, satirical book on politics and culture (soon to be available on Amazon), a who-knows-what sort-of-book on relationships (also never published), a history book on surfing that was published, his memoirs (also published), and finally a co-authored stage play based on his relationship book, so it's probably best to describe his writing endeavors as erratic. A wild ride full of hits and misses. Lee indulged Keith to tell of this journey but as usual took every opening to stir him along a little.

Keith's published books are available on Amazon at  https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=Keith+McMullen&i=stripbooks&crid=3Q9RDLDM7RDM3&sprefix=keith+mcmullen%2Cstripbooks%2C403&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
