CD 1668 Law or Love: It's Your Choice

Let me ask you a question this morning. How do you want a relationship with God, by His “Law” or by His “Love”. How do you want God to judge you, by His “Law” or by His Love? And when I say by His “Love” I mean the grace He revealed through His Son dying on the cross in our place.

I believe each and every one of us would say Lord I can't live Your “Law” but I accept Your “Love” that You demonstrated (Romans 5:8) through Your son Jesus. I don't want “Law”, I want “Love” meaning Your grace! Now hold that thought and let's read our text:

*Text Galatians 3:1-14 (KJV) O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the “Law” , or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the “Law” , or by the hearing of faith? 6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the “Law”  are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the “Law”  to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the “Law”  in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the “Law”  is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the “Law” , being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Note “Law” is mentioned 7 times in those 14 verses!

Note verse 10 teached us if we don’t live “by the hearing of faith” then we must live by all the “Law”! See James 2:10, which says, "For whosoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

This verse emphasizes the all-or-nothing nature of the “Law”. It's not enough to simply follow some of the commandments or do our best; if we break even one commandment, we are guilty of breaking the entire “Law”.

This can seem like a daunting standard to live up to, but it's important to remember that Christ has already fulfilled the “Law” on our behalf, and we are no longer under its condemnation. Instead, we are called to live according to the Spirit “by the hearing of faith”, seeking to honor God in all that we do!

*SEE Galatians 5:13-15 (KJV) For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by “Love”  serve one another. 14 For all the “Law” is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt “Love”  thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us about Him sitting on His throne with His sheep on His right hand and He makes this statement:

*Matthew 25:37-40 (KJV) Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirs

CD 1667 Jesus is MY Healer, Helper, and Holder

    (Story about my grandpa)

My oh my how things change when we make things personal and take truth for ourselves personally. You can ask a lot of people if they have heard of Jesus? But what is vital is who they personally know Jesus as to them! It’s one thing to call Jesus: “Healer, Helper & Holder” but oh how it changes when you put “MY” before it!

*Text Matthew 1:18-21 (KJV) .Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus : for he shall save his people from their sins.

    #1 Healer

*Text Matthew 1:21 (KJV)  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus : for he shall save his people from their sins.

Note “he (Jesus ) shall save his people from their sins” #4982 (sode'-zo)to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be made whole.

    Q. How?

    A. By acknowledging and confessing our sins:

*Read Psalms 32:1-5 (KJV) Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. 4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Note “ I acknowledge my sin unto thee” = I made up my mind that I would acknowledge.

Note “I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord” = to use the hands to praise the Lord in confession.

*See Psalms 103:1-5 (KJV)  Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Note “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases”, come into agreement with God’s Word praise Him for “forgiveness” and “healing” spirit, soul, and body!

    #2 Helper

*Read Psalm 115:11 (KJV) Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

*Read Hebrews 13:6 (KJV) So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Note “The Lord is my helper” #998 (bo-ay-thos') a succorer: - helper.

    CD 1662 “Wealthy not Wanting”

    (By Communing with Christ)

    September 8, 2024 A.M. Service???

As Believers in Christ Jesus we are “IDENTIFIED” not “ISOLATED”! We are in Him and He is in us! We have  "KOINONIA" which is a Greek word that means”PARTNERSHIP”, "FELLOWSHIP", and "COMMUNION."  The Lord desires us to understand this deep spiritual connection that believers “CAN” have with Christ and with each other through their shared faith and love. In these troublesome times this truth is a powerful reminder that we're not alone in this journey!  We're part of a larger community of believers who are all striving to grow closer to God.

*Text 1 Corinthians 1:1-9 (KJV) .Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes (saved by strength - Ps. 28:7) our brother, 2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth (satiated), to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: 3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Note V.5 - “ye are enriched by him”

Note V.9 - “ye were called unto the fellowship”

*Read 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 (KJV) We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: 4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, 5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; 6 By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, 7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; 9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; 10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Note V.10 “ yet making many rich”

*Read 2 Corinthians 9:7-15 (KJV) .Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. 10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) 11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; 13 Whiles by the experiment of this minist

  • CD 1661 “MARK OUT OR BECOME A MARK”

CD 1661 “MARK OUT OR BECOME A MARK”

(Marks of a Child of God)

Let me start by saying a true statement, we will either follow the teaching in the Word of God and succeed or not and fail! Let me add to that truth you will either be a mark of the enemy or you will mark out according to the teachings in the Word of God, more on that later.

It is amazing to me as I read the creation account in the book of Genesis. The Word of God tells us in Genesis 1:31 that God saw everything He had made and behold it was very good. God is a good God and His creation is from His goodness and the reality that He not only loves but He is love (1 John 4:8)! I said that to say this, God is a God of diversity and He has created all things and all peoples. We can see all the different races around the world and how they are each very unique and special but yet we are all very much alike coming from the Lord God Almighty! By listening to the way people talk or the way that they act reveals so much about them. Don’t get caught up on the outside, learn how to “mark out‘ the inside! So as blood-bought born again children of God we should do what the Bible says and mark out the traits of being saved through the blood of Jesus versus the traits of the lost!

The Bible is very clear that Satan the deceiver is very subtle and cunning in the way he works through counterfeits. So we need to mark those who are following the mark of the Lord Jesus Christ and those who are following the mark of the world:

*Text: Psalms 37:37-40 (KJV) “MARK” the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. 38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

*Text: Romans 16:17-18 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. [18] For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

*Text: Philippians 3:14-19 (KJV) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. [15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. [16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. [17] Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. [18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

    #1 TEACHABLE

*Reread Philippians 3:14-16 (KJV) I press toward “the mark” for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. [15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. [16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

We need to be teachable and be actively teaching others:

*Read 2 Timothy 2:1-3 (KJV) Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who s

    CD 1659 “Resisting - Righting - Resting”

    August 19, 2024 A.M.

It’s amazing to me how we, the Church of the Living God, let the devil intimidate us on a daily basis! Jesus Himself promised us that the gates of Hell shall NOT prevail - get the victory over us! At all times we must understand what spirit we are listening to, or under the influence of! See the devil brings smokescreens and situations that seem like the Savior misrepresented His authority! The enemy and his cohorts work diligently trying to get God’s church to accept that their situation is just God’s will for their lives! This morning we are going to learn from the Word of God the truth for us to live in.. We must follow the Word wholly and then we will enter into His promises! The end of every journey comes step by step, and in this message we will look at these 3 steps:“Resisting - Righting - Resting”!

*Text Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

      #1 Resisting -

*James 4:7 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist (to oppose) the devil, and he will flee from you.

Oh what a promise to live by! In our submission we are opposing every attack the devil has to work against our flesh! Soon he flees from us, looking for someone else to devour! Speaking of devour please turn to 1 Peter chapter 5 please:,

*1 Peter 5:6-10 (KJV) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary (an opponent in a lawsuit) the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist (to oppose) stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Here James and Peter give us the keys to being able to “Resist (to oppose) the devil” - “ Submit yourselves ” and “ Humble yourselves”! Our victory is assured when we are living by the Word of God!

Can you imagine how close to home this word from Peter was about the adversary? Jesus had warned Peter but he was full of pride ins
