CD 1533 Overcoming Controlling Spirits
#1 MANIPULATE (Philippians 2:3-4 opposite of 2 Timothy 3:6)
#2 INTIMIDATE (1 Peter 3:14 NASB)
#3 DOMINATE
Remember the words of Jesus:
*John 14:30 (AMPC) I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]
We can be following Jesus very closely just like the disciples in the Gospel of Luke. But a controlling spirit can influence our soul through our flesh. Will look at how a witchcraft spirit starts as a work of the flesh in a moment (Galatians 5:20). They were being controlled by a spirit of pride (verse 46) a spirit of jealousy (verse 49) and a spirit of supremacy (verse 54)!
*Luke 9:49-56 KJVS
And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. [50] And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. [51] And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, [52] And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. [53] And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. [54] And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? [55] But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, YE KNOW NOT WHAT MANNER OF SPIRIT YE ARE OF. [56] For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
*Food 4 Thought- *1 Samuel 15:23 KJVS For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
*2 Corinthians 4:4 KJVS
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
I was studying the Word of God and praying when I had to get up and go to the restroom. As I was walking down the hall going back to my recliner the thought come in my mind from my spirit about freedom or bondage. We are either walking with the Holy Spirit in freedom or walking with the spirits of this world in some kind of bondage. The thought came to me about CONTROLLING SPIRITS. A CONTROLLING SPIRIT is a spirit of witchcraft in origin working through the flesh!
The Holy Spirit started bringing revelation to me that many of his children are being used by CONTROLLING SPIRITS of witchcraft in one way or another. One way is MANIPULATING people to get what we want and the other way is being the person that is being MANIPULATED! Either way we are not walking in the freedom and fellowship that the Lord desires for us! We will have great opportunity to apply HIS WORD which is the TRUTH that makes us free!
*** People who habitually use MANIPULATION, INTIMIDATION, or DOMINATION to control others open themselves to the bondage and influence of controlling spirits of witchcraft. When this happens, they lose all ability to communicate or relate to anyone apart from these controlling spirits. It will be no longer just the flesh at work, but this controlling spirit. I watched these take over my dad and destroy his life and marriage!***
*Text: Galatians 5:19-26 KJVS
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, WITCHCRAFT, hatred, variance, emul

Vanishing the Void by the Victory in Christ
Nothing about your life will stay empty, you will fill up with lies or truth, lust or love, hell or heaven!
*Text: Philippians 2:1-11 KJVS
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, [2] Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. [3] Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. [4] Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. [5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Note verse 7 - Jesus made Himself "NO REPUTATION" = kenosis (Ancient Greek: κένωσις, romanized: kénōsis, lit. 'lit. 'the act of emptying'') is the 'self-emptying' of Jesus. The word ἐκένωσεν (ekénōsen) is used in Philippians 2:7: "[Jesus] made himself nothing" (NIV), or "[he] emptied himself" (NRSV), using the verb form κενόω (kenóō), meaning "to empty".
Let's go on a journey through the Word of God and learn how the devil always tries to get the earth and it's inhabitants to empty out of God's will and be filled with violence:
*Genesis 1:1-5 KJVS
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. [3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. [4] And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. [5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Here we have God recreating the earth after it BECAME empty and void!
*Isaiah 45:18 KJVS
For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord ; and there is none else.
But Adam and Eve bowed to the serpent and Genesis chapter 6 tell us the earth is filled with violence:
*Genesis 6:1-14 KJVS
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, [2] That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. [3] And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. [4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. [5] And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [6] And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. [7] And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; f

CD 1529 Words are Entry Points - Good or Bad
While praying in the Spirit, I sensed this phrase over and over in my spirit: words are entry points! Good or Bad!
*Proverbs 18:20-21 (KJV) A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
*Proverbs 18:20-21 (AMPC) A man's [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. [Matt. 12:37.]
*Matthew 17:20 (KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, YE SHALL SAY unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
*James 3:8-10 (KJV) But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
#1 Anyone can curse - You don’t need to get your PHD or Master's Degree. All people from youth learn how to curse someone, usually starting with themselves. We all use our tongues in ungodly ways to curse ourselves or other people. Reread James 3:9, even Christians can curse each other!
We all have heard or said some of these word curses:
“You will never be successful.”
“You were born to suffer.”
“You won’t be able to have children.”
“You are not as good as ….”
“I might as well die.”
“You are better off dead.”
#2 Even unrevealed curses have an effect
Just as prayers, spoken or unspoken over the people we judge, are effective. Curses form in our hearts, not in our mouths.
*Matthew 15:18–19 (KJV) But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. [19] For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:.
Ecclesiastes 10:20 (AKJV) Curse not the king, no not in your thought; and curse not the rich in your bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which has wings shall tell the matter.
#3 We can suffer from unintended curses
God’s Word results in a harvest of “good fruit” if we hold on fast to it in our hearts. In the same way, we can turn the words we hear from people we trust into curses that bear “bad fruit”.
For example, a man who trusts a doctor that says he will never recover from his medical condition is unlikely to be able to receive God’s miraculous healing, no matter how many times he prays. The doctor’s words (based on a human being’s limited knowledge and not on God) has become an unintended curse. The man must take down such a stronghold through repentance and renunciation, before his relationship with God can be restored.
*Luke 8:15 (AMPC) But as for that [seed] in the good soil, these are [the people] who, hearing the Word, hold it fast in a just ( noble, virtuous) and worthy heart, and steadily bring forth fruit with patience.
Psalm 146:3 (NLT) Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there.
*Jeremiah 17:5-6 KJV
Thus saith the Lord ; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his

CD 1527 Becoming Conquerors by Colossians - session 1
There is so much power in the Word of God especially when we're able to go verse by verse through an entire Epistle. So, this morning we're going to start Colossians and get some important truths to help us become a conqueror through Christ! This epistle has never been more relevant than at this junction of our lives! You must understand: "Colosse (the recipients of Paul's letter to the Colossians) is located south of Laodicea in the southwestern part of Asia Minor. It was built at the head of a gorge where two streams unite. And in the neighborhood of Laodicea and Hierapolis where Jesus Christ warned about the last church age being lukewarm!"
*Text: Colossians 1:1-12 KJVS
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, [2] To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [3] We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, [4] Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, [5] For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; [6] Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: [7] As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; [8] Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. [9] For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; [10] That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; [12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Now let's key in on verses:
*Colossians 1:9-12 KJVS
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; [10] That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; [12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
#1 His Will
*Colossians 1:9 KJVS
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of HIS WILL in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
It's one thing to know God's will and it's another thing to have His Wisdom with Understanding to complete it! Wisdom is the application of knowledge! remember Daniel got so much revelation but he had to have understanding with wisdom to stay in the Lord's plan!
*Daniel 12:8-9 KJVS
And I heard, but I UNDERSTOOD IT NOT: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things ? [9] And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
We need to do what James taught:
*James 1:5 KJVS
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
*James 1:5 PEV So if you want to properly understand what is the right thing to do, an

CD 1531 Eyes Off Self and On Savior - Sunday Night the 26 P.M. service
With all the chaos in the world and yes in the lives of Christians Donna and I were discussing about the importance of putting the Lord first by seeking Him early:
*Psalms 63:1 (KJV) O God, thou art my God; EARLY WILL I SEEK THEE: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
*Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be ADDED UNTO YOU.
As I mediated upon that thought and prayed in the spirit I heard the words for the title of this message: "Eyes Off Self and On the Savior"! Every step of our lives is affected by whether we choose the path of SELF or the path of our SAVIOR. If our hearts belong to Jesus, then everywhere we go and everything we do should be affected by His leadership in our lives. Scripture teaches us that Abraham became strong in faith. It didn’t say Abraham became strong in faith by taking all the glory for himself. It says Abraham became strong in faith giving glory to God (Romans 4:20). The stronger he became in faith, the less he thought of himself, and the more he thought of God.
Let's pull from both the Old and New Testament for our text:
*TEXT: Proverbs 3:7 (KJV) Be not wise in THINE OWN EYES: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
*Philippians 3:17-21 (KJV) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, WHO MIND EARTHLY THINGS.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also WE LOOK FOR THE SAVIOR, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
At this point in our lives the Apostle Paul taught us by the Holy Spirit we know in part (1 Corinthians 13:9)! We must make the choice moment by moment to not go by our soul being led by our flesh but rather seek the Savior by His Spirit in our spirit! Anything else will lead us into evil and make us enemies of His Cross! But if WE LOOK TO THE SAVIOR we have our conversation - our citizenship from Heaven and His promised of subduing all things to Himself!
*Read Colossians 3:1-3 (KJV) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 SET YOUR AFFECTION (TO EXERCISE THE MIND) on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Q. IS YOUR DAY FULL OF LIFE AND PEACE?
*Read Romans 8:5-6 (KJV) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
If you're tired in the battle maybe, it's time to make sure you're living by the Savior - by the Word! The fruit of EVERY SITUATION WILL DETERMINE WHERE YOUR MIND IS AT THAT MOMENT! Remember the teachings of Jesus to His disciples:
*Read Matthew 16:24-26 (KJV) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
To live these verses fully, let's go back to from where w
