Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; [26] Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: [27] To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: [28] Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: [29] Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

CD 1555 Your Choice: A WISE Life or a WASTED Life!
Introduction:
I want to begin this morning with a riddle. See if you can figure this out. These are the words of Gollum in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. Ask yourself, “what is the thing that Gollum is describing?” as I read. Here is the riddle: This ____ all things devours: Birds, beasts, trees, flowers; Gnaws iron, bites steel; Grinds hard stones to meal; Slays king, ruins town, And beats high mountain down. What is it? What is the great thing that devours birds and beasts? That eventually destroys all towns? And is an enemy and slayer of great men and kings? Well the answer is time.
Time is ticking away and eventually time will get us all. No matter what stage of life you are at, your time is slowly counting down. Each of us has only so much time. It's your choice to live a wise life or a wasted life… that's the thought tonight!
Text 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - then cover Mark 14:1-21 for the WISE Life versus the WASTED Life!
Close with (1 Cor. 3:9-15) will you suffer loss?
Psalms 90:9-17 - There are two parts: Firstly, sin is the great time waster as we will see in verses 7-11 and then when we look at verses 12-17 we will see God’s place as the great redeemer of time.
Closing Illustration: Charles Francis Adams, son of President John Quincy Adams and grandson of President John Adams, kept a diary. One day he entered: “Went fishing with my son today—a day wasted.”
His son, Brook Adams, also kept a diary, which is still in existence. On that same day, Brook Adams made this entry: “Went fishing with my father—the most wonderful day of my life!” The father thought he was wasting time while fishing with his son, but his son saw it as an investment of time.
The only way to tell the difference between wasting and investing is to know one’s ultimate purpose in life and to judge accordingly.

What is the vision the Lord has gave us for 2023? Close your eyes and see the vision board - the year of release! This morning we are continuing our studies from the letter written to the church in Collosse.
Colossians Theme = The glory of the Person and Work of Jesus Christ the Head of the Church!
Reiterate from the past 2 weeks:
There is so much power in the Word of God especially when we're able to go verse by verse through an entire Epistle. So, this morning we're going to start Colossians and get some important truths to help us become a conqueror through Christ! This epistle has never been more relevant than at this junction of our lives! You must understand: "Colosse (the recipients of Paul's letter to the Colossians) is located south of Laodicea in the southwestern part of Asia Minor. It was built at the head of a gorge where two streams unite. And in the neighborhood of Laodicea and Hierapolis where Jesus Christ warned about the last church age being lukewarm!"
*Read Colossians 1:15-23 - we will see the preeminence and fullness of Jesus Christ but we will pull from:
*Text: Colossians 1:15-17 (KJV)
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the FIRSTBORN OF EVERY CREATURE:
16 For by him were ALL THINGS CREATED, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him ALL THINGS CONSIST.
#1 Christ First
*Reread Colossians 1:15 (KJV) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
*John 1:1-3 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
*John 8:58 (KJV) Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
*John 17:5 (KJV) And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
*John 17:24 (KJV) Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
*Romans 8:29 KJVS
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
*Revelation 22:12-13 (KJV) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
#2 Creation Formed
*Reread Colossians 1:16 (KJV) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL THINGS WERE CREATED (TO FORM AND FABRICATE) BY HIM AND FOR HIM:
*Ephesians 2:12-16 (KJV) That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for TO MAKE (TO FORM AND FABRICATE) in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto Go

CD 1541 Running to the Resurrection Ready for the Return
Don't let anyone or anything stop you from running to the Resurrection, then you will be ready for His return. In this message for Resurrection Day 2023 we will look at 3 areas the enemy will use against us. Will you let the Lord reveal to you any of these in your life:
#1 Romans & Religious
#2 Rocks & Reality
#3 Rejection & Rights (Roles)
*Matthew 28:1-11 KJVS
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. [2] And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. [3] His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: [4] And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. [5] And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. [6] He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. [7] And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. [8] And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and DID RUN to bring his disciples word. [9] And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. [10] Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. [11] Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
#1 Romans & Religious
*Matthew 27:62-65 KJVS
Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, [63] Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. [64] Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. [65] Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
The prince of the power of the air has a world government and he has a world church. He will use it to keep people from RUNNING TO THE RESURRECTION and meeting a Risen Savior!
#2 Rocks & Reality
From the Old Covenant to the New Covenant we learn about the True Rock and the devil who is the false rock (Deuteronomy 32:31 ). The devil tries to keep people from the Risen Rock. Don't let a false reality - your circumstances keep you from RUNNING TO THE RESURRECTION!
*Matthew 27:65-66 KJVS
Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. [66] So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Their questions:
*Mark 16:3-4 KJVS
And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? [4] And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
The reread:
*Matthew 28:2-6 KJVS
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. [3] His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: [4] And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. CD 1538 New Wine: From “No Wine” to "New Wine" - From "Zero" to "Overflow"
New wine! It represents the Holy Spirit, harvest, joy, intimacy with God, and miracles. New wine also speaks of the “now” move of the Holy Spirit. And if you are thirsty for God, or experiencing a shortfall, this word will encourage you. For in an instant of listening and responding to Jesus, He can take you from zero to overflow!
And you will see God’s power in unexpected places.
From “No Wine” to New Wine - "New Wine, you are His Glorious Vessel"!
*TEXT John 2:1-11 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
In John chapter 2, the glory of God gate-crashes a wedding in Cana, Galilee. Yet, few of those attending was aware of it! But what they do know is that the wine they taste is of higher quality than any they have experienced before! The miracle takes place after Mary informs Jesus, “They have no wine”. And this is a reminder, that supply issues—whenever they show up—are an opportunity to encounter Jesus.
The New Wine is Now
When the master of ceremonies tastes the miracle wine, he calls the bridegroom over.
It is a new wine, the glory of God on display. And it has never been tasted in the earthly realm before. Jesus is the baptizer in the Holy Spirit with fire and new wine (Matthew 3:11)!
Because God’s word tells us that we are also vessels for His glory.
Paul writes, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” (2 Cor 4:7, NKJV)
1. Closeness
John recalls, “Standing nearby were six water jars”.
So, the jars were nearby and close at hand! Are you staying close to Jesus the baptizer?
This reminds me of when the ruling priests arrest Peter and John. The rulers are astonished to realize that Peter and John are “unschooled, ordinary men”!
And “they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)
Likewise, closeness will mark you with the presence of God. The grandkids will leave our house and when they get home mom tells them they smell like nana and papa's! Lord, I want EVERYONE to smell Your presence on me!
It is personal but also relates to church gatherings. And church gatherings are not just in a building! Because Jesus said, “When two or more gather there I am in the midst of them.” (Matt 18:20) We have been having ZOOM meetings and the Lord is in those meetings just like a church building! Right now, you are in the place of closeness. Hear the Lord say, “I love you! I choose you!”
It is a new era and God is pouring His new wine forth through you.

In this life there's always two ways to do things. One is right and the other isn't, it's just that plain and simple. I'm going to ask you a question in a moment but before I do let me tell you how I came to the title of this message. My dad and Grandpa took two different engines and made one, to go in a log loader truck. In case you don't know what, a log loader truck is, it's simply an old truck that you put a log loader on back in the day. All those things have changed now. But when they put these two engines together in poor times, they ended up with two dipsticks to check the oil with in one engine. If you checked it by one, it showed full but if you checked it by the other one it showed 2 quarts low. See when we use man standard it comes up low compared to God's standard. In this message I'm going to ask you this question what is the last thing that people look at in being full of the Holy Spirit? Now let's go to our text and we'll answer that question:
*Ephesians 5:15-21 KJVS
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. [17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; BUT BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT; [19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; [21] SUBMITTING YOURSELVES ONE TO ANOTHER IN THE FEAR OF GOD.
Notice in verse 18 we're talking about being filled with the Holy Spirit. We're all familiar with verses 19 and 20 as a gauge of how full we are of the Holy Spirit. But we can't leave off verse 21 because the last is just as important if not more than the previous!
Your level, my level of submission truly reveals how much of the Holy Spirit we have and better said how much of us the Holy Spirit has. It's the hardest thing for the natural man to do and that is to submit that natural will to someone else! This is so important that the apostle Paul by the unction of the Holy Spirit keeps the same thought through the first nine verses of chapter 6. It's all about submission and that submission reveals the level of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Look at our Lord Jesus:
*Philippians 2:5-16 KJVS
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. [12] Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work o
