"WORKING TOGETHER FOREVER BY BEING FAITHFUL”

Is the Lord Jesus Christ faithful in all His House? Is He called “FAITHFUL & TRUE”

Yes! (See Hebrews 3:1-6 & Revelation 19:11) We have a warning from the Bible that some shall depart from the faith in the last days (1 Timothy  4:1)! Faith only comes from hearing the Word of God ( Romans 10:17)! So this tells us in the last days people will leave the Word of God!

Today is our last message in the book of Colossians. We have been working our way through this book together and learning what it means to live the Christ-centered life.

A major source of frustration for pastors is what is called the 80-20 rule: 20% of people in the church do 80% of the work, while the 80% attend church, enjoy the service, and leave without ever getting involved.

And in this final passage Paul closes out the letter by mentioning various people who have helped him with the gospel and who will receive this letter on the other end. And the message here is clear. We’re all in this together. The truth is that no one can effectively do God’s work all by themselves. In this closing message we see how important it is that Paul teaches unity in serving the Lord and how each person is needed and has needs!

This morning we will see that the Apostle Paul is all about people learning how to serve and be served! He mentions over 100 people by name in his New Testament letters! In Romans 16 alone, there are 26 people listed. Here, in Colossians 4, he mentions 10 individuals. Paul understood that he could not survive in the Christian life alone. He was in many deep relationships with people in the churches.  Are you?

*Text Colossians 4:7-18 (KJV) All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord: 8 whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; 9 with Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. 10 Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;) 11 and Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. 12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. 13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. 14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. 15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. 16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. 17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it. 18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen. Written from Rome to the Colossians by Tychicus and Onesimus.

CD 1570 Is it Really Little, a Small Thing?

An atom is the smallest part of an element. When an atom is split a nuclear explosion occurs! Think about that happening right now at Arkansas Nuclear One Power Plant or remember what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Something so small, so little can be so powerful for good or for bad.

The Lord Jesus Christ has Seeds for you but beware so does the devil! With that being said let's remind ourselves what the Word says about little things:

*Text: Matthew 13:31-32 (KJV) Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: [32] Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

In this chapter Jesus is teaching us by parables. In the first 2 he was teaching about wheat but now talking about least of all seeds the mustard! This is a type for teaching about the kingdom coming into our hearts. But the mustard plant became what it was NOT supposed to become, a tree (Gen 1:11-12 - kind after kind). The church is to put all the emphasis upon the Lord Jesus Christ and stay little and humble. But the church has become rooted in this present earth age instead of being a pilgrim passing through and now the birds (see the first parable in this chapter verses 4 &19) the evil spirits from the prince of the power of the air and lodging there!

From this moment on with a heart of repentance simply be what the Lord has died and resurrected to make you - His child! Be humble and stay humble starting with dealing with those “LITTLE THINGS”:

*Song of Solomon 2:15 (KJV) “TAKE” US the foxes, the LITTLE FOXES, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Note "TAKE" means to seize and hold in possession! Either you take control or the devil and his cohorts will take control!

Note "US" - we have to possess those little things that dig into our lives or they will possess us!

Note "LITTLE FOXES" = a jackal as an animal that is a burrower - meaning a hole or tunnel dug by a small animal as a dwelling. The devil wants to dig his way into your life little by little like the “FOWLS OF THE AIR” lodging in our opening text! Guard your heart with all diligence by casting down every thought that is contrary to the Word of God! Or you will become:

Note "SPOIL" - to wind tightly (as a rope), that is, to bind ; specifically by a pledge ; figuratively to pervert, destroy ; also to writhe in pain!

    Q. WHO IS THE VINE IN YOUR LIFE TODAY?

    A. John 15:5 (KJV) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

The devil's desire is to “SPOIL” what Jesus THE VINE has for you to produce as His branch! It’s ordained of God that we produce much fruit:

*John 15:7-8 (KJV) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Remember what Paul taught by the unction of the Holy Spirit about the "LITTLE":

*1 Corinthians 5:6 (KJV) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a LITTLE LEAVEN leaveneth the whole lump?

We all need Jesus as our Lord and Savior but He needs to be our Healer and Deliverer from all those "LITTLE THINGS":

    *Psalm 32:7 (KJV)

CD 1572 Becoming Conquerors by Colossians - session 13

    Sunday Morning July 23, 2023 - (Donnie’s Birthday!)

    "WALKING & TALKING in WISDOM”

We have spent the past few months in the Epistle learning from the Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit how to live a life of victory! As He gets ready to close this letter he reminds us how much our words and works influence those around us! Jesus taught from the beginning that His purpose in our lives was to make us into “FISHERS of MEN” and to accomplish His highest level of call. If we live and die only to ourselves then we have missed out on His Will and Way! With that being said open your Bibles to our text:

*Colossians 4:5-6 (KJV) “Walk” in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. 6 Let your “SPEECH” be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

    #1 Note: “WALK”

    #2 Note: “SPEECH”

    #3 Note “WISDOM”

#1 Note: “WALK” - figuratively to live and follow as a companion- in everyday life the Lord Jesus desires to direct our lives to His fullness!

*Reread Colossians 4:5 (KJV) “Walk” in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

*Read Matthew 4:17-22 (KJV)  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 18 And Jesus, “WALKING” by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

*Read Psalms 45:6-7 (KJV) (see Hebrews 1:8-9) Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. 7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above THY FELLOWS. (= COMPANIONS)

#2 Note: “SPEECH” - (log-os) something said including the thought behind it.

*Reread Colossians 4:6 (KJV) Let your “SPEECH” be alway with GRACE, SEASONED with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

“with grace” - divine influence upon the heart (see Ephesians 4:29) - How?

    “SEASONED” - to be prepared!

"SALT" #217 (hal'-as) salt, figuratively prudence or being wise in life with preparation for the future!

*Matthew 5:37 (KJV) But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

    #3 Note “WISDOM”

*Reread Colossians 4:5-6 (KJV) “Walk” in wisdom toward them that are without, REDEEMING the time. 6 Let your “SPEECH” be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Note “WISDOM” - (sof-ee’-ah) CLEAR AND WISE.

See James 3:13 (KJV)  Who is a “WISE” man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of “WISDOM”.

Note our lifestyle of walking and talking in and by wisdom will REDEEM the times. Like people who are buying up a product

CD 1568 Becoming Conquerors by Colossians - session 12

    Sunday Morning July 16, 2023 - (Donna’s Birthday!)

    "PRAYER , THANKSGIVING and PREACHING”

In the 3 verses in this Epistle we are going to cover this morning the Holy Spirit is going to tie these 3 things together in our lives: “PRAYER , THANKSGIVING and PREACHING”!

TEXT: Colossians 4:2-4  [KJV] Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; 3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

#1 PRAYER - “Prayer is the link that connects us with God and each other”!

*REREAD: Colossians 4:2  [KJV] Continue in prayer...

Note “CONTINUE” #4342 "Continue perseveringly" -  "persevere" by being constantly diligent!

    First Connect with God:

*Read Acts 10:30-33 (KJV) 30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee. 33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

*Read Acts 10:44-48 (KJV) 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Cornelius could have said I am not a Jew  - meaning I have no covenant with the Lord God Almighty! What good would it do me to pray? What good would it do me to give alms - to act like God the Father and be a sacrificial giver? No he got to know God - he connected with God and learned:

*Read Matthew 21:22 (KJV)  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

    Secondly Connect with Each Other:

    Read *Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

*Read Act 2:46-47 (KJV)  And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

*Read Hebrews 10:25 (KJV) 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

#2 THANKSGIVING - “Thanksgiving is the link that reveals our faith and hope in God”!

    *REREAD: Colossians 4:2  [KJV]  Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Note “watch” #1127 to keep awake an

Sunday Morning July 2, 2023 - (Happy 4th of July - Independence Day!)

    "Living by and for the Lord" {Finding Freedom}

This morning the Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is going to challenge us for a reality check as to where our hearts are in everyday life! Our attitude truly does affect our altitude as it's been said! If we are truly living for the Lord we will by the Lord be empowered to live a life pleasing to Him! Notice this part of the chapter has to do with duty, we need to be as willing and eager as Private Gomer Pyle reporting for duty sir, 😂 lol!

*Reread last week's stopping point please to have truth to live by:

*Colossians 3:17 (KJV) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name (power, character and authority) of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Praise the Lord I can live out the following verses by my Lord’s name, His name has all power and authority and all things bow to His name!

*Text: Colossians 3:18-25 (KJV) Wives (1), submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit (proper) in the Lord. [19] Husbands (2), love your wives, and be not bitter against them. [20] Children (3), obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. [21] Fathers (4), provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. [22] Servants (5), obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: [23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; [24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. [25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

CONTINUE WITH VERSE 1 IN CHAPTER 4:

*Colossians 4:1 (KJV) Masters (6), give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master(7) in heaven.

This morning let's learn more about that "NAME" Jesus because when live in and by verse 17 then we can and will live out verses 18-4:1! Oh praise God for the use of the "NAME" of His Son Jesus! Notice  the full meaning from the Greek has to do with "CHARACTER" and "AUTHORITY"! With this knowledge then let's find the truth that makes us free to live by out of His precious "NAME"!

    #1 Character

*Read Song of Solomon 5:10-16 note specifically Verse 16:

*Song of Solomon 5:16 KJV His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

Note "His MOUTH" = His Words are most sweet - see

*Psalm 34:8-9 KJV O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. [9] O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

*Psalm 45:2 KJV Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

*Psalm 119:103-105 KJV How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! [104] Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. [105] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

*Nehemiah 8:10 KJV Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

*Text:1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 KJV Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. [2] We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; [3] Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; [4] Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. [5] For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. [6] And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: [7] So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. [8] For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. [9] For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; [10] And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Closing Illustration: Why Do Cats Get Stuck in Trees?

Do you ever wonder why house cats can climb up a tree, but they don't know how to get down the tree? Animal expert and autism advocate Temple Grandin has a theory. She claims, that at some point, mother cats teach kittens how to descend from a tree—just as they teach their young a great many other things that were once thought to be innate cat behavior, including how to hunt, bury their waste, deal with live prey, approach an unknown person or dog, and so forth.

Cats that get stuck in trees, the theory goes, are cats that were taken from their mothers before the lesson about getting out of trees could be taught. That is just a theory, but we do know from scientific studies that a great deal of animal behavior is learned behavior. It's not just instinctual. Scientific studies have been done on all kinds of animals—tigers, wolves, cheetahs, birds, lizards, fish, and even ants— and those studies show that animals learn how to be a particular kind of animal by watching, observing, and imitating their mothers, fathers, or other members of their animal group. They lear
    n by imitation.

In the same way, we learn how to follow Jesus by watching and imitating other followers of Jesus.

CD 1565 Find the Fresh Fire Again

    Sunday Evening June 25, 2023

Have you ever gone to a campsite after the campers have gone home and looked into the fire pit? To me as I look into ashes I see all the planning and excitement of what once was but now is gone just like the wood! You see turning this to the spiritual God's Altar had a fire that was never supposed to go out:

*Leviticus 6:9,12-13 (KJV) Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it. [12] And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. [13] The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

God started this fire and it reminds of His presence and power in our lives moment by moment from the wandering in the wilderness to the Day of Pentecost! But  we the priests of God have either let the fire go out or offered strange fire. So tonight we are going to pray the prayer out of Isaiah and expect the Lord to stoke His fire:

*Text: Isaiah 64:1-4 (KJV) Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, [2] As when the MELTING FIRE burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! [3] When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence. [4] For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

    Q. Are you going to look at that campsite fire pit only remember what was or you going let God's fire fall afresh in your life?

    #1 Water and Fire

*REREAD Isaiah 64:1-4 (KJV) Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, [2] As when the MELTING FIRE burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

*John 7:37-39 (KJV) In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. [38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given ; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

*Matthew 3:11-13 (KJV) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: [12] Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. [13] Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

*Acts 2:1-4 (KJV) And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tong

CD 1563 Resting in Resurrection by Sitting with the Savior

Donna and I had just finished praying for someone we don't even know and I prayed out unexpectedly in tongues and the title of tonight's message came forth. I know the Lord wants that for those we had just prayed for but it is for the whole body AND I had just had this conversation with someone about this subject! Our God is so awesome! Remember Jesus said He was the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25) and Mary found true rest, Sabbath Rest sitting with the Savior! Martha didn't know how to sit with Jesus and Lazarus had to be loosed after he met the Resurrection (John 11:44)!

    *Text: Hebrews 3:7-12,18-19 KJVS

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, [8] Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: [9] When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. [10] Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. [11] So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) [12] Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. [18] And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? [19] So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

    *Read:Hebrews 4:1-6 KJVS

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. [2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. [3] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [4] For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. [5] And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. [6] Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

*Read: Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and YE SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Keep reading into the 12th chapter:

Matthew 12:1-15 (KJV) At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. [2] But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the SABBATH DAY. [3] But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; [4] How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? [5] Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the SABBATH DAYS the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? [6] But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. [7] But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned upthe guiltless. [8] For the Son of man is Lord even of the SABBATH DAY. [9] And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue: [10] And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the SABBATH DAYS? that they might accuse hi

CD 1559 Full of Both: GRACE & TRUTH

As we enter the last days we see the great falling away being accelerated before our very eyes! In Jesus’s time the Pharisees had truth but no grace . But it seems today we have all grace  but no truth! God’s Grace will meet us in our sin and show us the way of salvation. But without truth the lines of justification and sanctification become blurred and it's not just come as you are but stay as you are because of grace! It is important for grace and truth to work in tandem, like a needle and thread ladies or ring gear and pinion gear men.

*Text: John 1:1-3, 14 & 17 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt (tabernacle) among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came (Greek word ginomai = to cause to be - generate) by Jesus Christ.

Note that Jesus Christ the Lord Who is the Living Word is not 50% grace and %50 truth! Rather He is 100% full of grace and truth! The Law came through man - Moses but “grace and truth” was brought into existence by Jesus Christ!

Jesus taught us that He was the “TRUTH” (John 14:6)! When we have both “” we not only know we can walk but we know how to walk:

*Isaiah 30:21 “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”

*Read John 8:1-12 (KJV) - key verse 11 - …And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. - " That's full of grace and truth.

Close with the same thought: *Read John 5:14-15 (KJV) Jesus didn’t condemn nor condone sin! (See *Revelation 21:7-8 - last one is “ALL LIARS”!)

Closing Illustration: Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg were friends. They couldn't be farther apart politically, yet they were congenial toward one another and genuinely cared for each other. It's reported that "against all odds, the pair had a warm, decades-long friendship despite disagreeing on everything from same-sex marriage to gun rights." When Judge Scalia was observed taking a bouquet of flowers to Ginsburg's office during her illness, someone challenged him for being so amiable to a person whose views he strongly opposed. Scalia responded, "There are some things more important than votes." That's full of grace and truth.
