333CD 1584 "3 R'S of Jesus' Resurrection"
Sunday September 10, 2023 A.M.
From the Word of God we learn about our identity in the Lord Jesus Christ! The Word says that the believer (1 John 4:17) is as Jesus is, so are we on the earth! In other words, if you don't know Jesus then you can't be who God called you to be, and fulfill your destiny!
In this message we are going to remind ourselves what it means to be raised with Jesus Christ. Just to lay some groundwork before we read our opening text:
*Ephesians 2:6 (KJV) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
*Colossians 2:12 (KJV) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
From these 2 verses we see death couldn't hold Jesus, death couldn't stop God the Father from resurrecting Him! Since our faith is in the Risen Savior then we are raised with Him in His resurrection! Now turn to the Gospel of John and let’s join the story of Lazarus who had died and was entombed as Jesus uses this situation to teach Martha about “His resurrection”:
*Text John 11:25-26 (KJV) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
#1 First R: RECEIVE (fulness)
*John 1:6-12 (KJV) There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. [7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. [8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. [9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. [11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Key in on verse 12 please but remember Jesus is that "True Light" that lighteth every man!
*John 1:12 (KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power (AUTHORITY) to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
If you have placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ then He has given to you the LEGAL RIGHT - “AUTHORITY” to live as His child in this present day world!
*Galatians 3:26 (KJV) For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
*Galatians 4:3-6 (KJV) Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Write these precious truths upon your heart! By faith when you believe and “receive” Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you have partaken in His resurrection and become a son - a child of God!
*#2 Second R: REFLECT
*Matthew 5:16 (KJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Our “light” comes not from ourselves but from the Lord as we read earlier in the Gospel of John chapter 1. Our “light” is “REFLECTIVE” from whatever we are looking at! Moses looked to the Lord and His face shone of thankf

CD 1589 Why We Do What We Do!
*Text John 14:10-14 KJV
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. [11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. [12] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. [13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Notice verses 12 &13 in particular tonight. Our beliefs determine our works. In other words great works come because of great faith and Jesus taught us there are degrees of faith! And our works open up our prayer life!
*John 10:22-25 KJV
And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. [23] And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. [24] Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. [25] Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
Second Witness:
*John 9:4-5 KJV
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. [5] As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
*Matthew 10:8 KJV
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
*Luke 9:1-2,6,10-17 KJV
Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. [2] And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. [6] And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. [10] And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. [11] And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing. [12] And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place. [13] But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people. [14] For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. [15] And they did so, and made them all sit down. [16] Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. [17] And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
*Matthew 25:31-40 KJV
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: [32] And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: [33] And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. [34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: [35] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick

CD 1581 "Taking Time Thoughtfully"
Sunday August 27, 2023 P.M.
Have you checked your bank account this week, to see how money and month are doing? Have you taken a look in your freezer or your kitchen cabinets to see how much food and supplies you have in storage? Have you checked your watch to see if you're on time? Speaking of “TIME”:
*Genesis 1:14 (KJV) And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
From Genesis we learn that the Lord God created “TIME” just as He created you and me! So the truth is we are His stewards for the Lord God owns all! Tonight we are going to look at another bank that a lot of people never consider, your “TIME BANK”! That is the average lifespan of males and females combined in the United States today: 27,375 days. Every day, whether or not you want to, you make a withdrawal of 1 day. When the last day has been used up we return (2 Cor. 5:8) to the Lord and He is our judge!
*Job 7:6 (KJV) My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.
*Job 7:6 (CEV) and my days are running out quicker than the thread of a fast-moving needle. (Takes me back as a little boy watching the needle and thread in my mom's Singer sewing machine going up and down. And Granny Shirley's when Donna and I started dating!)
Right now take your age and multiply it by 365, now, subtract it from 27,375 days. For example, when I do the math for me I have 6935 days to live! (DON’T TAKE ME WRONG, I KNOW WE ARE NOT PROMISED TOMORROW, WE ONLY HAVE THIS MOMENT GOD’S PRESENT TO US!) If you are 50 and average, you have 9,125 days left to live. If you are 65, you have 3,650 days left to live. In other words, know this all will die or be changed at the coming of the Lord. Make sure your life means something not to the world’s standard but to the standard of the Lord!
We spend about 20 years sleeping, over 3 years eating, and about 14 years on our personal pleasure! Add them up with the time to grow up and then the limitations of growing old and we only have about 25 years of true productivity for the Lord!
*Psalms 90:1-12 (KJV) Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. 3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. 4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. 5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. 6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. 7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. 8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. 9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. 11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. 12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
#1 TIME is Given
*Reread Psalms 90:10-12 (KJV) The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off

CD 1580 "No Delay"
(Quickly - Without Delay)
Sunday August 20, 2023 A.M.
In the airline industry delays are becoming more and more frequent. More than 22% of all flights suffered from delays or cancellations from July 2021 through July 2022.
The 10 major U.S. airlines had an on-time percentage of 77.13% from July 2021 through July 2022.
Allegiant Air had the lowest on-time percentage of any of the major 10 airlines, being on time only 61.96% of the time from July 2021 to July 2022, according to the data.
We could talk about delays at the doctor's office or at the DMV and now with product supply worldwide and on and on. Delays can be very frustrating and have serious consequences. But in this message we are looking at how our Lord wants us to be like Him, on time all the time!
Foundational Verse: Psalms 119:60 (KJV) I made haste, and “delayed” not to keep thy commandments.
*Text: James 1:16-27 (KJV) Do not err, my beloved brethren. [17] Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. [18] Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. [19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren, LET EVERY MAN BE SWIFT TO HEAR, slow to speak, slow to wrath: [20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. [21] Wherefore lay apart all filthiness to and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. [22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, DECEIVING YOUR OWN SELVES. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. [26] If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. [27] Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Note verse 19: "LET EVERY MAN BE SWIFT TO HEAR, slow to speak, slow to wrath:"
(Ecclesiastes 5:2 (KJV) Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.)
(James 3:6 (KJV) And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.)
And verse 22: "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves"!
Note "SWIFT" (TACHUS) to be prompt or ready - see (TACHU) without delay suddenly!
Note "DECEIVING your own selves" - see Colossians 2:4 BEGUILED! When the Holy Spirit drops the TRUTH - JESUS THE LIVING WORD into your heart and you don't respond you have beguiled yourself! The church has got conditioned to a "FEEL GOOD GOSPEL" that they are asleep and many are falling away. In today’s message we are looking at these 3 points on “delays”: #1 The Example of our Lord - #2 The Example of the Devil - #3 The Example of the Ladies
#1 The Example of our Lord
