This week on the show we are having a great time talking some wrestling! “On This Day…” features a couple WrestleMania’s, Stings first solo championship and a farewell to The Nature Boy. The Retro Raw Review is another great show as things are heating up big time between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart, who has aligned himself once again with the Hart Foundation! We then break down all of the things we have seen since we last sat down, including an Insane match recommendation from Deathmatch Jake. At the end of the show we break down all that the WWE is going to offer up on the ever so quickly approaching WrestleMania week. Be sure to subscribe to the show and give us a follow on all forms of social media @DorksideOTR
Hey, gang! We have a great show lined up for you this week. We are hot on the heels of WrestleMania 13 as we continue on our weekly journey through the WWF circa 1997. Bret Hart has turned his back on the American fans, and The Undertaker is holding down the top spot in the company. Not a ton in the way of figure news, so "Into the Dorkness" is a little thin, but we more than make up for it when we interview a Wisconsin Independent legend at the end of the show. That's right Dysfunction makes his debut on the show in a great call in segment to promote ICW- Milwaukee's upcoming Insanity TV taping. All that and we also break down the recent offerings from WWE, NXT and AEW (Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker anyone?)
This week on the show we kick things off with some “On This Day”. We’re talking about Vader winning the WCW title from Sting, the release of Beyond The Mat, WrestleMania X8 and more. The “Retro Raw Review” is the go home show to WrestleMania 13, and features a real departure of Bret Hart’s babyface character. Lots of RSC talk as we travel “Into The Dorkness” (Ultimate SCSA anyone?) We then dive into what we have viewed since we last recorded. The main focus is on the most recent AEW and NXT shows, as well as a rundown of the New Japan Cup so far. Be sure to check us out on Twitter and Instagram @DorksideOTR, and come say hi on April 17th at WaterCity Con in Oshkosh, WI!
This week on the show we take a look at the past weekends big AEW Revolution PPV. Say what you want about the ending, which we had lots to say, but that was a great show. On the Retro Raw Review, things have changed drastically since last week. Gone are the RAW letters in the entrance. We now have a stage, pyro, and the Titan Tron! We are also less than two weeks from WrestleMania 13. Into The Dorkness gives us some possible Mattel Ultimate leaks, as well as some great additions to the PC's. We also discuss the recent ACW Wisconsin show in detail. Thanks for listening, and follow the show @DorksideOTR
This week’s show is a good one! The “Retro Raw Review” contains the finals of the tournament to crown the inaugural WWF European Champion. The match pits the Tag Team Champions, Davey Boy Smith against Owen Hart in a classic bout! “Into the Dorkness” is a real variety segment this week as there is news all around, and some great new arrivals. We also hit on last week’s @purodad recommended match of the week. The Match was great, but sparked a great story as well. Enjoy!
This week on the show we kick things off like we always do with some pro wrestling history talk that includes the NWA’s WrestleWar PPV, and the launch of the WWE Network. Then, ECW invades Monday Night Raw as we discuss the 2/24/97 episode that included appearances by Paul Heyman, Tommy Dreamer, Raven and all the other ECW staples. "Into the Dorkness" ends with a bang when Adam brings a jaw dropping gift to the table. After that we break down the recent Elimination Chamber show as well as all the other wrestling we have consumed since we last recorded. Enjoy!
This week on the show we have a good one for you! 1997 WWF Monday Night Raw is really heating up. we take a look at the In Your House: Final Four PPV ahead of the Retro Raw Review that included a challenge made to some local bingo hall wrestlers that was accepted on air by Paul Heyman. The WWF Championship has changed hands three times in five days. What a crazy time! We also run down the latest Takeover offering from NXT, that really felt like a return to form for the black and yellow brand. All this and a ACW Wisconsin review of this past weekends event. Check it out!
This week on the show we get right into it with a somewhat somber "On This Day In Pro Wrestling History" where we talk about a couple guys that we lost way too soon. The Retro Raw Review is focused on the Feb. 13th 1997 "Thursday Raw Thursday" special and it is a pivotal episode in the landscape of WWF. The world title is forfeited, and the IC changes hands. This has a major impact on the PPV that was only three days away. We then get into a controversial topic in the figure world. Pro Wrestling Tees' experimental Macho Man Micro Brawler drop that occurred last Friday. It was a wild day for sure. We also touch on all of the pro wrestling we have consumed since we recorded last week. Enjoy!
This week's show we are in different locations: Mat is in the studio with Covid, so Adam is joining the show from parts unknown. We make the most of it and still hit on all the segments you know and love. The Retro Raw Review is a bit of a strange one, as it's actually a Toronto house show that was taped a few days prior, although all the storylines are still in play as we head into Thursday Raw Thursday. It's also the beginning of the two hour Raw shows. We get a very early glimpse into AEW Unrivaled series 5 (now with 100% less Cody!) We then shift gears to chat about the past Sunday's Royal Rumble PPV. As a whole, we both enjoyed the show! We also discuss a few other shows that we watched as well as the homework that was assigned by @purodad. Thanks for listening!
This week on the show we take a long look at the last Monday Night Raw with the one hour format. We are creeping toward the dawning of The Attitude Era, folks! We also take a look at some key moments that occurred on this day in pro wrestling history, including the passing of the first WWF hall of famer, Andre The Giant. We chat about some new figure news and do a little fantasy booking for the upcoming Royal Rumble match. Lets not forget, there are tattoos on the line!
