Dorothy Leyden was walking home from Manchester City centre to her home in Harpurhey in April 1971 after a night out with friends. She never returned home and was later found murdered on a piece of wasteland along the route to her house. Many people believed that the 'Beast of Manchester' was involved with the murder however speculation has continued to be rife in this case for the last 50 years. Sadly the case is still unsolved.
