Former University of Minnesota Women’s Hockey player. The Edina, Minnesota native was named 2015 MS. Hockey. She then went onto have an Illustrious career for the Gophers which resulted in a National championship, being Named AHCA All-American Scholar, and receiving Minnesota’s Big Ten Conference Outstanding Sportsmanship Award, just to name a few. A career that defines what this podcast is all about when it comes to perseverance and never giving up and the will to never stop believing in yourself. The Madison SD Native, played running back and defensive back for Madison High, which reached the State 11A title game two straight years (2013-14)...named All-Dakota 12 Conference in 2014 and honorable mention All-Dakota 12 Conference in 2013. But nowadays documenting sports is at the forefront of his life more than playing them is. The multimedia content producer works for the University of Minnesota and the NFL creating video content unlike any other.

The Buffalo, MN native led his high school to 3 consecutive section finals. After his time at Buffalo he committed to University of Mary. After a year at Mary he transferred to SCSU where he is in his second year with the program. A fellow Minnesota Hooper Tony Dahl!

Episode 8 of The Double Down Podcast features a three-star prospect by Rivals, Scout, ESPN and 247 Sports. He was ranked as the No. 85 receiver in his class and as the No. 4 receiver in Illinois. He is currently in his 6 year with the Golden Gophers and has played in 46 games and has made 125 catches (12th all-time in school history) for 1,970 yards (ninth all-time in school history) and 13 touchdowns (tied for 13th all-time in school history). An ACL tear has taken him out for the rest of the Golden gophers season. Expect him to make a full recovery and be back for his seventh year at the University of Minnesota. Our guest was rated as the No. 78 player overall in the nation and the No. 17 guard by ESPN. She was also named a WBCA High School All-American. She led her high school to a 28-1 record and a No. 2 final national ranking in the espnW 25 Power Rankings. The North Dakota State Wide Receiver is now in his 5th year in Fargo where he has already racked up 3 national championships and is in his senior campaign towards a fourth. She shares stories of her transition from high school, leaving her senior year early, to help the 2020-2021 gopher women’s basketball team. From there she brings the listener on a journey through the unique adversity she had to endure that sidelined her for the whole 2021-2022 season. Katie speaks on the different emotional responses she had and how they affected her mental health as a college athlete.
