Zack bought yet ANOTHER car, and we talk about how he constantly finds these random four-wheeled contraptions for ridiculously low sums of money. We're testing the Jaguar F-Type SVR, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the Lexus LX 570, the Alpina B7, and the all-new Mazda CX-5. Adi also just got back from a first drive event for the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. Autocross season has just started, and our Mazda MX-5 RF Sport has done its first day on the track - how did it do? Tune in and find out!
This week in the studio we have guest and friend of the podcast Kevin Wong, here to talk about instructing, being a professional victim, and his Honda S2000. Somehow though, he's shown up in a Toyota Echo of some sort. We also discuss the Mazda MX-5 GS, a road trip in a Volvo V90 Cross Country, the BMW 5-series, and Ford F-150 Raptor. Adi and Zack also got a chance to jump behind the wheel of a minty fresh Toyota MR2 Turbo and lived through the snap oversteer to talk about it.
Fresh from the New York International Auto Show, Louis talks about some of the show's big unveils. Important ones include the Volvo XC60, Honda Civic Si, Dodge SRT Demon and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Yeah, a 707 horsepower SUV does sound pretty wicked. We also touch on the latest film in the Fast & Furious franchise, which has just released. Cars around for testing include the Ford F-150 Raptor, Jaguar F-Pace, Infiniti QX60, Lexus GS-F, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, and of course, we make our reveal of this summer's track car. Tune in!
Along with the usual tomfoolery, we're talking about the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid, the Subaru Impreza, the Volvo S90 Inscription, Buick Envision, and for the first time, the Ford F-150 with the new TEN-SPEED TRANSMISSION. That's right, it has ten gears and Jerry has some pretty strong opinions on it. We also touch on the New York Auto Show debuts coming up next week, including the new Honda Civic Si, which we forecast will be very, very good. Lastly, we're finally taking our old cars out for the spring, because apparently, it's finally getting warmer out!
We're in the studio back from a series of launches. Louis samples the 2018 VW Atlas, Adi is just back from the Volvo V90 Cross Country drive, and we get to whip the Ford Focus RS around a winter track setup. In the garage are cars like the 2017 Mazda MX-5 GS, the Audi A4 allroad, the new Subaru Impreza, and the Toyota Avalon. We talk at length about wagons, crossovers, sound systems, and Zack's take on the Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI. Jerry just gallivanted through Death Valley in a big ass SUV and lived to tell the tale, so tune in!
We have recurring guest Nick Tragianis from Driving.ca in the studio, along with Adi, Louis, and a very anxious Jerry. About to play the rental car lottery on a personal road trip, Jerry discusses the very rational car guy fear of the "or similar" concept. Cars up for discussion this week include the Porsche 718 Cayman (manual!), the all-new Subaru Impreza, and Nick's recent drive of the Dodge Challenger GT. We also talk about the Canadian International Auto Show, with hits such as the new Aston Martin hypercar, the reinvented 911 by Singer, and the world debut of the Hyundai Accent. Adi and Jerry have also purchased new cars, and we talk about them and reveal what machines the boys have brought home.
A bit different from our usual adventures, we sit down with our friends Colin and Thomas from Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy. If you don't know already, we're launching a video series in partnership with the Pinnacle team, trying to get our readers into the world of performance driving. We talk about Colin's eccentric car history, along with Thomas' BMW E46 track car. Also, Thomas has a Saab story, and Colin complains about the Alfa Romeo 4C forums. Louis and Adi get a few words in here and there, too!
On our very first episode in our brand new studio, we talk about the all-new Kia Niro, and how good of a media event Kia puts on. We also compare the Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback to the Hyundai Elantra, and the Lexus GS to the Jaguar XF. In the garage is the new XF with the diesel engine, an Acura MDX, and aforementioned Cruze Hatchback. Also touching on relevant points like the 2018 Ford Expedition, the new SRT Durango, and a few other important reveals around the Canadian International Auto Show.
We're all in a temporary studio today, with a guest appearance by Zack's very tolerant wife Christi. Adi's back from testing the all-new Chevrolet Bolt EV, and Chad's driving the new plug-in hybrid variant of the BMW 7-series, complete with the Executive Lounge Package. Louis just got out of the Genesis G90, and Zack has the Infiniti Q60 3.0t. Thanks to a mild week in January, we're already planning on when we'll bring our summer toys out of hibernation and what we plan to do this summer. Oh yeah, and Adi's car this week is a manual transmission '17 Toyota Corolla.
Having just returned home from the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the team has plenty to talk about. Important debuts include the new Kia Stinger GT, the 2018 Toyota Camry, Lexus LS500, Honda Odyssey, and updated Ford F-150. We’ve been driving some cool stuff too, including the Range Rover TD6, the Jaguar XE Diesel, the Ford Super Duty, and the refreshed Mazda3. It was also Chad's first time ever seeing Detroit, and he was pretty taken aback by his experience in Motown. Tune in!
