I've never liked the designated hitter in baseball. The DH takes the strategy out of the American League and it's even worse when AL teams play in National League parks and the Twins top power hitter Nelson Cruz sits on the bench.
When the Twins played at the Mets early on it was a one run game and Met's pitcher Noah Syndergaard was up with runners in scoring position the Mets had to decided. Do you let him bat? Pinch hit for him and he's out of the game? Noah stayed in the game to face Kyle Gibson.
If there was a DH it wouldn't have mattered. As it stands in this game. Kyle Gibson walked the pitcher #ugh and the Twins ended up losing the game. Nelson Cruz sat on the bench and the Twins lost and so does baseball. Traditional baseball is hundreds of little scenario's and decisions which can change the pitch, batter and course of the game. The DH ruined part of baseball.
