Down to Herf Podcast

This week on the Down to Herf Podcast the guys sit down with one of the most famous cigars in the world ,the Montecristo No. 4. Cuban cigars have built a near-mythical reputation among cigar smokers, but the big question is whether they actually live up to the hype. We break down the history of the brand, our smoking experience with the Montecristo No. 4, and have an honest conversation about where Cuban cigars stand in today’s cigar world compared to non Cuban cigars.

Patrol Gone Wild returns with another batch of bizarre headlines from the streets. This week’s stories include a bowling ball bandit causing chaos, a Pokémon card scam that proves collectibles can bring out the worst in people, and yet another strange taser deployment that leaves everyone scratching their heads.

In Caleb’s News we cover a few notable cigar releases hitting the market, including announcements from E.P. Carrillo and Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. On the whiskey front we take a look at a new expression coming from Chicken Cock Whiskey.

This week on Down to Herf, we sat down with Lou Cross of Lure Cigars to talk about his latest release, the Slim Jim Catch and Release. Lou walked us through the inspiration behind the project, how the blend came together, and why this cigar stands out in a market full of traditional profiles. We broke down the construction, flavor notes, and who this cigar is really made for, along with some insight into what’s next for Lure Cigars as the brand continues to grow.

Patrol Gone Wild was pure chaos this week. We covered a tense airport hostage situation, a bizarre parking lot incident that left people questioning humanity, and a traffic stop where the defendant just couldn’t stop talking themselves deeper into trouble. Sometimes the best move is to stay quiet — and this week proved exactly why.

Caleb’s News featured new release announcements from Big Sky Cigars and Warped, plus a new expression from Penelope that whiskey fans will definitely want to keep on their radar.
