A good variety of fun

A nice blend of adventures. Believable or not. Overall very good, with a few weak moments, writing or performance. I had many I listened to multiple times. Well worth the money!

Hardcore Erotica!

With the ubiquity of visual porn in our time, one would think that printed erotic stories would not compare in effectiveness to arouse the sexual libido we crave. But this book, I found at least for myself, a man, to really be effective in creating desire.

While I do question the extreme examples of sexual congress as fictitious, and one would want to always be considerate, in agreement and realistic in real life to live out their fantasies with their partners, I found these suggestive and really hot stories thrilling for the most part.

That being said, I would pose the question to the authors as a fairly new fan of this genre; are your stories true, or fictitious fantasies from your fertile minds? Thanks for your feedback!

Wow. This is messed up.

I'm conflicted on this story. Some of the things my ears were subjected to hearing in this audiobook are so heinous and ugly that I thought at times my ears would bleed. But I feel hallowed out and scraped raw and it has been my experience in the past that books that have the ability to evoke such intense emotion in us are the books that stick with us long after we read the last page. My issue is, I don't like these feelings too much. This is not a feel good book. It is jammed full of tragedy. Just when you think there is a chance that the main characters might make it out on the other side of these tragic events, maybe not whole or completely sane, but you begin to search for that light you can sense coming just at the end of the tunnel...only to find out that the light is a train barreling headlong to smack you on your a$$. For me the story became unbelievable. In my opinion, where there is only darkness, there can be no light. There was no balance in this book. It was chaos, hate and utter hopelessness and to top it all off, there was a monster cliff that Ms. Blair left us hanging off of...again. Not a happy camper right now.

Dark and intriguing

Just like The first book, flashbacks to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse were difficult to listen to. This is not a feel-good read. The main characters are twisted and damaged. It is dark, intriguing and emotional with a few plot twist to keep you guessing.

It contains a few explicit sex scenes, not all are consensual.

If you are OK with everything listed above, I highly recommend this book. It is really well written.

Don't waste your time!

An incredible disappointment, I wish I had given more thought to previous reviews; Absurd story! This is the equivalent of driving by an accident.

Never saw print edition, however audio edition is wonderful. Great stories for those who enjoy erotica, and especially BDSM.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

What do you think your next listen will be?

By this author, it will be The Risk and Foolish.

What didnt you like about Steve Ryans performance?

The narration seemed forced. The breathy, hoarse, attempt and sexy delivery distracted for the story greatly. The incorrect emphasis on certain words made it appear that the sentence was ending when in fact it was not. I kept thinking the narrator's throat HAS to be sore. I would also have expressed the power of enunciating your words. There seemed to be an issue with pronouncing words that had an "x" in them i.e. expect, exactly. The author's grammatical errors were read as well. So the errors in word usage were highlighted.

I think with more practice under his belt and a good director this narrator has potential. I look forward to this growth.

Was Hood Booty worth the listening time?

Absolutely. It was an interesting story that I think has legs. Thugs or wannabe thugs on the DL love it. I love to get insight on what motivates one to act or not on lust/nature, etc. I would love for more character development and backstory. I felt like this was just a small "taste" of a story with huge potential.

Any additional comments?

I read the story first and found it entertaining -errors and all. However, after listening to the story, my review declined. Choosing the right narrator can make a break a story. Reading the story I envisioned masculine baritones for a few of the characters. Below is the review I provided after reading the book PRIOR to listening to it.

"Good story. A story I look forward to seeing what happens. The author's mind is a wonderful thing. There were a few issues: timeline consistencies, several grammatical errors, but the story was so interesting I almost didn't notice them. Proofread so the errors don't detract from the story.......and a good story it was sir"

Really entertaining

This was my first M.J. Fields book and I enjoyed it. I liked the characters, the story was good, and the narration was great. The Barbie doll scene had me laughing out loud. And, I won't say more so I don't spoil it for anyone else. The writing was fun, playful, and even a bit goofy, but all in a good way. Kept me engaged and entertained. This book was recommended to me and I wasn't sure what to expect. But, it was a great recommendations!

I have listened to several books narrated by Kai and Wen, and they are always consistent. But, I have to say, I think they did even better than usual in this book. They really brought the characters to life.

Definitely in the top 10. I loved this book!

What did you like best about this story?

The humor. Xavier had me laughing out loud throughout the book from the opening scene on.

Which scene was your favorite?

I think it was the scene with Xavier and the barbie doll when Bella walked in on him and the subsequent phone call explaining the scene to his brothers. I still laugh every time I think about it.

I loved the concept behind the name Forever Four, and I loved how strong and witty Taelyn was. I loved her nickname Irish and how they made it into a pun in one scene. I also loved how they played an "If you were mine" game through the whole story. It was so romantic.

Zandor

I love MJ Fields, but this has been my least favorite of her books so far. I liked it enough to finish it and wanted to see how it ended, but I just didnt feel as attached to these characters, especially Zandor, as I have to Fields other characters. I think the fact Bekah was Zandors employee (hired by him) and he wouldnt take no for an answer pushed this too far into the realm of sexual harassment for me. I really struggled with that aspect. However, I know several people who love Zandor, so this might not be a problem for other readers.

The highlight for me was the part when Bekah and her brother attended the Steels Thanksgiving dinner, surprising both Bekah and Zandor. I really liked the Steels family dynamic and would love to see more of Bekahs brother.

The narrators were excellent. Kennicott did Bekahs southern accent very well.

A white hot read!!!

WoW, WoW, WoW

This book was so hot, it was hard to stop listening. Zandor's character was so real and believable, and Wen Ross's narration was off the charts!!!!! Becca's character touched a few nerves with the 'badass I can do it on my own' attitude, but it made for the best book in the series so far for me. Of course Kai Kennecott did a fabulous job narrating the female roles!!

I was wrong.. THIS IS MY FAVE

I thought Cyrus was my fave in the series but then Zander happened and I changed my mind... #Awesomesauce

Peterson Ponies Up

The third book in the Guards of Folsom series touched on a kink that I don't have a lot of knowledge about. Pony play is a fetish that I have not read about in very many books and I was intrigued to learn more.

A happy accident brought Max and Aiden together, who knew a broken coffee pot could change the course of your life.

Max is comfortable in his life. He plays with the subs at the club but isn't looking for a 24/7 relationship. He seems settled but not necessarily happy, he has a routine that has become boring.When Aiden professes an interest in kink Max is happy to introduce him to all the life has to offer, on a temporary basis.

Aiden grew up on a farm but always knew he wanted to live in a city. He wanted the hustle and excitement the city had to offer but has found it to be a bit overwhelming. When we first meet Aiden he doesn't seem to have any real direction in his life and comes across as younger than his age would suggest. He has friends, but even those relationships seem superficial.

This book dealt more with the psychology behind submitting to someone but still retaining you identity. Aiden's fear of losing himself had a very real feel to it. How do you give up so much control and still be you? It also deals with changing aspects of relationships. The way things start is not how it has to stay, but can you change the dynamic of a relationship once it has been established? Especially with one that is as set in rules as a D/s.

I enjoyed this addition to the series and thought it went in ways that I didn't quite expect. I can't wait to see which kink is up next!

Did not care much for story

Not really my type of story. However others may like it. Perhaps another book for me will be better.
