I know you are troubled by the counter intuitive aspects of quantum mechanics, perplexed by your sudden inability to pen the opening lines of the great American novel, and vexed about the impending visit with your mother-in-law whom you wish had not been able to evade capture by the little green men from Andromeda.
There are answers. Don't take it from me. Go straight to the source. Babalu is a font of wisdom. Listen as he doles out advice to correspondents far more wacked out than you. Marvel at the astonishing breadth of his erudition. Delight in the range of his responses which are by turns creative, empathetic, charitable, playful, and occasionally caustic and tendentious when appropriate.
This little volume is much cheaper than a Viking river cruise, but it, too, can change your perspective on the world and perhaps, even yourself.
I'll be first in line for volume two.
Watch out Dear Abby
This book puts Dear Abby to shame. Babalu expresses deep insights into complex issues plaguing poor souls and offers sound advice. Actually, this is a humorous book full of off-the-wall letters from a wide range of wackos to the greatest advice columnist of all time, BABALU, whose advisement reeks of fruitcake.
I thought Oscar Wilde was dead!
Peter Manos has a wicked sense of humor and a wry way of writing that makes this book a real delight to read. For me, probably the best part (and a very pleasant surprise it is) was to discover as the stories unfolded that letters to Babalú started to come in from people mentioned in previous letters so as readers we are able to get the story from several points of view. This was a fun twist on the usual 'advice letter' format. Also, the stories themselves are bizarre (in a good way) and way off on the imaginative scale. This is a series of short stories that will have you laughing out loud at the mental images the author evokes.

Zany and fun...a great gift book
From a husband who doesn't notice when his wife puts a mannequin in her place, to a girl who operates on her pets or a romance heroine with cat whiskers, this book has everything. I gave a copy to my adult children who got so absorbed reading and laughing that they never opened the rest of their presents. When I try to read something else at night, my husband's laughter keeps breaking my concentration--"Listen to this one!" And it starts all over again in the morning. Maybe I'll get my own mannequin! Put this book on your gift list!
