    Title: The Castle of Indolence
    Author: James Thomson
    Narrator: Denis Daly
    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 1 hour 35 minutes
    Release date: March 21, 2023
    Genres: Poetry
    Publisher's Summary:
The Castle of Indolence was published early in the summer of 1748, four months after the poet’s death. The work was a slow and leisurely composition, which took nearly fifteen years to complete. The poem consists of 158 stanzas, divided into two cantos. It is presented as an allegory and was professedly written in imitation of The Faerie Queene. The origin of the poem appears to be the frequent remonstrances of Thomson’s friends about the poet’s well-known indolence, regarding both life and composition. In its finished state, it may be regarded as an apology and a warning. The apology, mostly playfully urged, is for Thompson’s own indolence; the warning is meant to discourage the indulgence of indolence in others.

    Title: God Themselves
    Author: Jae Nichelle
    Narrator: Jae Nichelle
    Format: Unabridged Audiobook
    Length: 1 hour 37 minutes
    Release date: March 14, 2023
    Genres: Poetry
    Publisher's Summary:
Let this book be a celebration of queerness, Blackness, and love. Let these words be a modern church, these poems a holy space. Rising star and spoken word poet Jae Nichelle debuts her luminous thoughts in God Themselves, a new collection of stirring poetry. Nichelle taps into her experiences of growing up in the South as a queer Black woman to courageously confront the effects of a forced religion and the inherent dangers of living life in a female body. God Themselves is divided into three equally moving sections: Everything, Everywhere, and Love. Nichelle braids her wisdom––as seen in the poem “What to Do When There’s Nothing You Can Do”––and witty generational humor––seen in "Sanctity: An Exposé"––into every poem. If you’ve ever contemplated who, what, and where God is, find comfort in these words.

    Release date: March 7, 2023

    Publisher's Summary:
'Let me say at the outset that this book is not about Bear (he would be spoken of in the singular and masculine, capitalized and without an article), or it is only incidentally about him. I am less interested in defining the being of Bear than in trying to understand something about the spirit of wilderness, of which Bear is a very particular expression . . . Bear is a template of the wilderness.'—from the Introduction Since receiving the Pulitzer Prize in 1969 for his novel House Made of Dawn, N. Scott Momaday has had one of the most remarkable careers in twentieth-century American letters. Here, in In the Bear's House, Momaday passionately explores themes of loneliness, sacredness, and aggression through his depiction of Bear, the one animal that has both inspired and haunted him throughout his lifetime. With transcendent dignity and gentleness, In the Bear's House celebrates Momaday's extraordinary creative vision and his evolution as one of our most gifted artists.
