The New York Times best-selling author of Ransom weaves the delightful, sensual story of two lovers destined for high adventure and blissful rapture!
A child bride, Sara Winchester had grown into a winsome beauty, joyfully anticipating the day when her husband Nathan, Marquess of St. James, would return to claim her heart at last. With their future at stake, they would discover the true destiny of their passion... for all time!

Very Funny moments but not much substance!!!
The book was not as great as I had hoped. The heroin seemed simple minded and naive. She had a good heart and beauty but that's it. A bit disappointing so I can not recommend this book unless if you are willing to listen through this for the few funny moments here and there.
A RIOTOUS REGENCY ADVENTURE ON THE HIGH SEAS
This is book 3 in JG's fantastic series The Crown Spies and, as usual, she delivers her winning formula for us Historical Romance lovers to suck up, revel in and enjoy in a storyline that includes adventure, fun, romance, sex, thrills, laughs, intrigue and of course, likeable H/H's who's endings are always tender, inevitable and predictable but it's the journey we all love to hear about and share in.
Nathan and Sara's story was filled with entertaining characters who are involved in a hilarious lol story that'll have people scowling and looking at you believing you've gone totally mad (but hey who cares). Nathan is handsome, arrogant, possessive, dominant, protective to loved ones and he growls and scowls at everybody especially when he captures Sara, his childhood bride, as he is finally ready to fulfil a bargain made years earlier and needs to both consummate and procreate to seal the deal. Sara, a delicate beauty who's naive, quirky, trusting, giving and loving but is also prone to screaming and crying...... and she's just the remedy Nathan doesn't realise he needs to break down the walls surrounding his heart.
Great secondary characters who help to make this one of the best in the series and I'm soooo looking forward to book 4 Castles which is Sir Colin's story - so please please Audible keep your listeners happy and add it soon.
Could easily be a stand alone listen but it does mention characters from previous books.
Worth a credit? It's definitely creditworthy, especially for the 12 and a half hours of listening pleasure it gives you, but it's an unbelievable bargain at under $10 - so save your credits for a more expensive, but maybe not a more worthy or enjoyable, listen.
    Romance on the High Seas
The Gift, by Julie Garwood, is the wonderfully, romantic story of Nathan, the Marquess of St. James, and Sara Winchester.

    Spirited Highland Adventure
This is a well written story about Ian and Sileas who find themselves circumstances beyond their control. The story basically shows how each of them dealt with their situation....both very differently. .Sileas essentially makes Ian work for it. Along the way is adventure, wooing, romance, and funny scenes that make this a nice historical romance.
The narrator was great. Overall, he did a nice job on the women's voices. I'm looking forward to book two.
Everything needed for a great highland romance
This was a fun listen, had a good plot, strong characters and was well-researched. The details supported the story line but did not get boring. I listen to these books for escape, not a history lesson. Naturally things are a little glossed over, it is a romance after all. But that's why it's a nice escape. Appreciated the added 'ghost' and healer, those were very much a part of everyday life for many in that time period. Thought the narrator did an excellent job, loved the way he said Sileas, and the characters were easily distinguished. Will be listening to the next in the series as soon as it is downloaded. Since it is highly unlikely I will ever get to see the real setting for these books in Scotland, I'm glad these stories are available in audio.
    Loved every moment!
    Any additional comments?
This was my first audio book and my first Margaret Mallory novel. I am now hooked on both!
The story was exciting and thrilling (I love a good mystery!) I loved Ian and Sileas as well as the side characters. I was glad that Ian wasn't the dark, brooding hero we often run into. He was funny as well as sexy, although a bit stubborn as most good heroes are. And Sileas was perfect! Not a simpering fool with a 'woe is me' attitude. I liked that.
Derek did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life, with enough distinction between the voices that it was very easy to tell who was who.
I'm definitely looking forward to more audio books and listening or reading the rest of this series.
    yummy highlanders make me grin
Do you have any additional comments?
I truly enjoyed this book. It brought so much more to the tale then your standard romance... the suspense, action, turmoil, drama, and steamy romance are all combined with a steady flair... with that special secret ingredient that makes the story verrrry yummy.
Was this my favorite all time highland book? Probably not. But it ranks right up there with those I would listen to again.

~COMPELLING!!~ Love This Author! Love This Book!
After listening and loving the book "My Sweet Folly" I knew I had to listen to other books by Laura Kinsale.
"Flowers From The Storm" is a captivating romance with heart. The characters seem so real & true to life and main characters of Christian and Maddy are written with integrity and dimension. The story weaves a tale of "in sickness and in health" as it shows how romantic opposites in many aspects of life can triumph through adversity.
This book is not for you if you are looking for lots of sex scenes. Its more of a genuine romantic story that is passionate, compelling, and emotional rather than fantasy or cutesy fun.
Also, the narrator is WONDERFUL!! Can't say enough about him!
Definitely, definitely did I say definitely worth a credit? Yes!!
Not your average love story, so much better.
At first I thought it was dull, but it was just opening like a flower. I didn't want it to end. It is worth the read. Treat your self.
    Flowers from the storm
I enjoyed this book so very much ! The story was so different then I thought. Lot of ups and downs so your where not sure how it was going to. This is the first book of Laura Kinsale I have read and I will read more of her books
    Flowers from the Storm
I'm impressed with Laura Kinsale Her writing style is well developed with interesting plot twists and well developed characters. Altogether, this was an entertaining and interesting book and I will be looking forward to reading more titles by this author.
Made me cry at different points.

    I love Highlanders too
I read the other reviews and it looks like I may be in the minority when I say I enjoyed this book. I love Highlandner books and this one was 8 hours that filled the need on a rainy day. I thought it was actually refreshing to listen to a highlander book that didnt have a lot of fighting. Magnus is a lover not a fighter. My kind of guy.
Maybe its just me but I don't always have the time or patience to listen to a 32 hour book like Outlander. Dont get me wrong, Outlander is a great book, its just most of the time I want a simple escape - not one that is filled with so much detail.
I also thought the narrator did a good job. She did remind me of Davina Porter a lot so that might be why. I will definately listen to the next book in the series.
    Sweet sexy Highlander series
I really enjoyed this book. It's pretty fast paced and short. The story is more centered in the developing romance more than historical facts or accuracy. I felt like I was listening to a Harlequin story with a Highlander twist (very sweet and sexy but a bit unrealistic). I also liked the narrator because male and female characters were easily distinguishable.
A Davina Porter in the makings?!
At the risk of inciting an audible riot, dare I say that Corrie James narration was reminiscent of, perhaps, one of the all time, best narrators, Davina Porter? So there! I said it! The audible sky did not fall! It's just my humble opinion, but I believe that James has the makings of a narrator similar to that of the great, Davina Porter. Davina Porter is one of my all time favorite narrators. Especially in the Outlander series! I'm sure I'm not alone, expressing how difficult the task of finding my next book was, once my amazing adventure with Gabaldon's Outlander series was over. So, you can imaging how thrilled I was once I started to listen to the Highlander's Reward. I sincerely hope that James is given the opportunity to develop her talent. Unless she has an alias, Corrie James is not listed as narrator on any other books on Audible. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of Eliza Knight's Highlander series. Note to the powers that be.....

Jubilant about this Author and Narrator.
The humor, period detail, romance and vivid characters make this book one of my favorites. I love the way each chapter starts with an excerpt from a fairy tale and both conclude in the final chapter. The writing is just extraordinary. The publishers consistently get it right when it comes to the narration. If all the audio books could be so lucky. This author won fan favorite for best love scene (All About Romance) for Thief of Shadows but to me all her books deserve kudos.
IF YOU'R LOOKING FOR ROMANCE THEN LOOK NO FURTHER
Book 1 of the Prince Trilogy (the Prince's are mythical fairytales that slowly unfold at the beginning of each chapter) I love E.H.'s books and this one is filled with likeable flawed characters that come to life as you become more involved in a well written, well narrated storyline that has passion, humour, emotion, blackmail and some steamy love scenes.
Anna isn't a pretty well gowned young debutant or Lady and Edward isn't a handsome young rake but their story IS beautiful - a lowly almost penniless widow and a scarred loud Earl who try, but fail, to keep to the social boundaries dictated by the rules of Georgian England's Society.
Worth a credit? This is a sweet romance novel and definitely, absolutely and certainly worth a credit but, for the listeners who must have total 'historical accuracy' as well, they should look elsewhere. As for me, we'll I'm eagerly off to listen to book 2 The Leopard Prince and then 3 The Serpent Prince (ahhhh isn't life grand!).
    Wonderful!!!
This is my first book of EH and I must say I only downloaded the book cause of the narrator. I do love historical romances, so that was an added bonus. I must say I couldn't get enough of Moira Quirk's voice. The story I must say was a bit confusing at the beginning of each chapter but after two chapters I figured it was a reading from the little red book in the Earl's library. The characters are not flat and EH makes you feel for them.
They have lots of passion and drive.
    worth a credit..
    VERY Good Narrator
Would you consider the audio edition of The Raven Prince to be better than the print version?
Yes. When you purchase the audible version, you have certain expectations. This narration was sooooo good. I haven't heard her before, however sometimes new is better. I have steered away from some because of the narrator. Glad that Moira Quirk has done all three in this series. Very smooth and the different voices do not detract from the listening. Great Job with the story and bringing it to life verbally.
What did you like best about this story?
Elizabeth Hoyt books are so different that it isn't the usual romance. The stories are different the H/H are different.

    Members Reviews:
My #1 Favorite book by Julie Garwood
This is a heartwarming story that starts in a London ballroom and ends in a cabin on a Montana Teritory homestead outside a middle-of-nowhere town. It has historical elements that really make this one unique, with constant quotes from Shakespere(sp), glamorization of Daniel Boon and Davey Crocket, "Mountain Men", and the eronious belief that if something has been published in a book it has to be true.
Another great element about this book is the low smut level. The main characters of the story are maried before they even meet on the pages, though they do not know eachother at all, and there is no actual sex until almost half way through the very large book. In an industry that seems to think that a good romance has to have sex by page 90, this is beyond refreshing.
This book has better developed suporting characters than many of Garwood's other books. All of them are well rounded, completely dynamic, and non-2dimentional.
The narator does a good job of getting the character tones right too.
    Loved it!
This was just one of those stories that clicked with me.
In the first hour I was concerned that the heroine Taylor was going to be a cookie-cutter Mary Sue, but I was pleasantly surprised when she started showing her flaws. By halfway through she'd developed into a very endearing character that I just couldn't help but root for.
The hero, Lucas, wore all of his vices on his sleeve initially and while he was handsome and mildly chivalrous it was hard to envision him as a Prince Charming. His character development was equally wonderful and geez if he didn't turn out to be everything a girl could want in a man!
Taylor was no wilting flower. The task she had to take on was more than just about any woman could have handled, and Lucas was just the man to champion her. The story is sixteen hours and their romance was not rushed, you really got to see two completely opposite people fall in love with one another and it was absolutely wonderful.
If you're a fan of period romances, be ready to lose sleep because it's really hard to turn off!
    A disappointment
Sorry, I was disappointed in this book - probably because it was older (written in early 90s), but JG glossed over the exciting parts until the end. Just when I thought it was going to get interesting, she tells us what happened with no action on what actually took place. So glad this isn't the case with the FBI books. Congrats to JG for really improving her writing style.
nice twist on the fairy tale
This isn't the typical 'prince charming' book. Grew to like this heroine a lot, at first I wondered whether that would be the case. But the detailed dialogue and descriptions of her thoughts, and those of Lucas, really helped see the personalities. Yes you can tell this is an older book. But for me that did not detract from the enjoyment. Sometimes I laughed out loud at Taylor's comments, and how she accepted anything that was written, or published, as being absolutely true. And the things the children said made me chuckle also.

    I couldn't stop listening!
    Any additional comments?
I had never read or listened to a book by Tracy Brogan so I felt like I was taking a real chance when I bought this book, but from the very beginning of the story I was hooked.
Feisty Fiona Sinclair has been forced to wed Miles Campbell. She believes Miles father killed her beloved mother and the Campbell's have become her mortal enemy. Now she's married into the family and is resolved to never be a "true" Campbell. Miles is a loving and patient man but even the best of men can take just so much. As the story unfolds family secrets threaten to tear both families apart. It's up to both of them to discover what's true and what's not.
This story is very well written. The love scenes are romantic and tender and tasteful. Scotland's rich history is very well used to tell the story of clan's for and against the crown. The narrator Sarah Coomes is now my all time favorite narrator. Her speech is clear and concise. Her performance is full of emotion and personality and her accents are rich and true. She can switch back and forth accents with ease and makes the story come alive making you glad you chose the audible book over the paperback. I can't wait for Tracy Brogan to come out with more audible books, I will definitely buy them. I sure hope she keeps the same narrator.
Typical Highland Romance...but oh so good!
This was another typical Highland Romance book a forced marriage by the King between two opposing clans. (Think Never Seduce a Scot). Although this one was predictable at times, it still had some shocking moments. Some I didnt even see coming.
Overall I enjoyed this book. I think I enjoyed the mystery just as much as the romance. (This is always a plus for me)
If you like Highland Romance books than this one will not disappoint. It has something for everyone; romance, forced marriages, deception, torn alliances, shocking revelations and a happily ever after.
    4 Stars!
Mystery, adventure and romance with good narration
This book has what I come to expect from a good historical/ highlander romance story: good romance, some adventure and good narration. Add a mystery that ended up being quite surprising and you end up with a very enjoyable listen.
Narration: this is the first book I've listened to that has been narrated by Sarah Coomes and I liked her. Very good accent, different voices for each character and she brought the story to life and made it believable.

This book was excellent!! I truly loved the story and was excited and it was nice to be able to go online and see pictures of the real place. It was wonderful.
    Wonderful Book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book is such a wonderful story. It takes place just after the Civil war and touches on the struggles and victories during that time. It kept my interest throughout and was very touching at times. If you like a good wholesome story this is for you. I loved it!!
Which character as performed by Tavia Gilbert was your favorite?
Tavia Gilbert did an excellent job with all the voices.
    Great book
    This book exceeded my expectations.
It really got me thinking. I fell in love with all the characters and the story drew me in.
The historical context for me was quite fascinating and Tamera wove the story quite skillfully.
It's also a clean romance. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical inspirational romances.
    Excellent Historical fiction
What did you love best about To Whisper Her Name?
I liked the development of the characters and really felt like I knew them and loved them.
What does Tavia Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
    Excellent reader, voice change excellent
    Any additional comments?
This was classified as unabridged, however, I found it difficult to understand the story at first because the prologue had not been recorded. The prologue was essential for the foundation of the entire story and so its absence was keenly missed. Fortunately, I also own the book on Kindle, so when the story seemed to be missing something, I checked out my kindle book and that was how I found that the prologue had not been recorded.
    Found the Romance Lacking
This is the first novel I've read by Tamera Alexander, and I'm starting to think that she won't make my top list of Historical Romance authors.

No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty -unprepared for the delights to come. Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions. Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul. As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret. But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love.

OMG - NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A GREAT LISTEN
This is all you can hope for when spending your credit on a book - it's got a great plot written by a very talented author, it's got interesting believable characters that will have you envisioning them riding through the Highlands or walking in Medieval castles, it's got a handsome powerful hero and a strong proud heroine that bring you in to share in their trials and tribulations and finally, it's got a love story that defies prejudices, betrayals and discriminations to win out against all odds for the happy ending that we all seek.
Can't wait for the next instalment, the series has such great potential and M.B. is an automatic download for me.
Worth a credit? Worth every cent and more, much much more.
    Five Stars+ listen
Wow, I don't think I know enough words in the English language to describe and praise this book enough! I had sworn off historical romance books after trying and hating Outlander. And the only book I tried to read from Maya Banks was Sweet Seduction (erotica) and I couldn't even finish it. So to say I took a big chance on this story is an understatement. But my... Oh my, was I pleasantly surprised!!!
Ten minutes after starting this book I seriously considered taking a day off from work and just experience (yes because this was not just a book but an experience) this wonderful story. I don't like to give spoilers but Ms. Banks wrote a story that really takes you back in time into Scotland and melts your heart with the sweetest hottest romance I've read in a very long time. I loved so many characters in this story! The heroine, Eveline who is deaf, through will, determination and a strong spirit decided that she would have what she wanted, to love and be loved in a time when women were viewed more as property than a partner. The hero Gramm was just as spectacular.
Narration: Kirsten Potter has just been added to my narrators-that-I-love list. Perfect accent, perfect delivery, perfect intensity and emotions added to the story.

Returning to the Scottish Highlands after a fierce battle with the English, Tayg Munro receives a heros welcome - and an ultimatum. To take his place as heir to the chiefdom, he must choose a wife or have one chosen for him. Furious and stalling for time, the brooding warrior volunteers for a mission that takes him deep into the Highlands, with no hint of the fateful encounter that awaits him....
Catriona MacLeod is known as the Shrew of Assynt, thanks to her razor-sharp tongue and her unwillingness to yield to her five brothers. When she learns that her eldest brother has promised her hand in marriage to a loathsome man, she flees into the Scottish wilderness, determined to seek the kings intervention. There she reluctantly joins forces with a handsome traveler, unable to anticipate the treacherous plot that will soon embroil them - or the passion that will ignite between them.

    good story,pity about the narrator
I love historical romances, especially set in Scottland. The story was good but was ruined by the narrator. He was not able to do any of the voices male or female. I also downloaded 'Daring the Highlander ' through which I will grit my teeth as I listen,
Please, please if there are any more books in this series get Davina Porter to narrate.
    Holds interest
Romance is not the best description of this work. It is a good story in the typical Scots setting of clan conspiracy, and holds interest. If you are looking for hot sex, look elsewhere.
    Surprising highland treat!!!
Laurie Wittig is a new author for me. I was pleasantly surprised by this great audiobook. A fantastic story, funny and charming characters and a very impressive narration by Ralph Lister.
    Highly recommended!! :)
    Could have used another Narrator
The Story is written well but the Narrator leaves much to be desired when it comes to doing Scottish accents. He's very adept with the British reading. But this is a book about the Scotts and there is much that needs to be read with a Scottish accent and he failed terribly with them. Or maybe it's just me being used to Davina Potter doing a beautiful Scottish Accent.
Other than that it was a lovely read.
    Disappointing...
but to be fair i just finished the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, narrated by Davina Porter...so i wanted more of this type. that being said, i found this book to be poorly done by comparison.
there was no depth of character, the narration sounded like something out of a high school theater, and truthfully, i couldn't wait for it to be over. possibly this book would be more apt to appeal to young adults, but not anyone with any maturity.
